This is probably going to be the most or strangest topic for a sequel debate...

I kind of think his hair style was something he changed too when he was in Japan... i kind of can imagin him in Japan, he's had too much beer which doesnt really effect him because he has a mutant healing factor... then he wonders into a tattoo parlor but that doesnt stick because of his healing factor, he gets a kabab staggers then into a hair dressers and gets a perm...didnt like the perm so he settled for this iconic doo.

I think it's just a matter of the director's personal tastes. His hair changed from movie to movie (same with Jean and Storm), so it's not that important as say, him having an extra claw in between movies. Besides, I'm sure he had to have changed his hair in 20 years or so.

If he has the full on pointy hairdo(thinking X2) and big sideburns, I would love to see a scene where someone remarked upon the style, some Japanese gangster or ninja......

:ninja: <"Look at the crazy gaijin's hair, how much ozone you kill to keep that up gaijin?")

I would love to see how they handled Logan's reaction to that. Because, for all his manliness, it could be said to be a bit of a long haired indulgence of his feminine side, lol. It would be hard for him to still look tough and defend his hairdo. Thinking about it, I'm not surprised that any director has been afraid to tackle this subject.

Maybe they could just have someone remark on his hair, but he doesn't quite understand what they are saying, that could be funny.

Oh i think his hair looks better now than it did in the x-men trilogy.

But doesnt explain how it got from the origins hairstyle to the x1 hairstyle.

That's my exact take on it, take it or leave it.

Anything but his X3 hair, it looked awful in that movie.

Having his hair like this would be better. But he needs to be more vicious!

He shouldn't smile in the second movie. He should be the way he was in X-Men 2, when he killed people that broke into the school. Aggressive to the fullest!

I thought his hair was fine in Wolverine. It really doesn't matter to me what his hair will look like in Wolverine 2. He could have a mullet and I wouldn't care, As long as he's not wearing that god awful black leather speed suit.

His hair has been debated to death on this forum. LOL.

IMO, his hair looked the best in Wolverine. Looked great in X1, as well. X2 was still pretty good. X3.. I just have no words. He looked nasty and gross with that dead rat on his head.

My only problem with his X2 hair was that it looked extremely high maintenance. Were as XO and X1 it looks nature.. like he just wakes up and his hair looks like that. Other than that, though, his X2 hair is pretty damn good.

Me too. I stick with more natural look. I would like to see thicker chops though.

I say keep it the same as in Origins. I liked it better that way

Definately preferred the Origins hair over any in the other movies.

I wouldn't mind them bringing back the X1 hair. Some kind of compromise between that and Wolverine might be nice.

In the comics, is Wolverine's hair meant to be a product of his mutant background (eg he has become animal-like), or is it simply a hairstyle choice?

In the movies, it seems as if the points can flop down (particularly as shown in X1 and Wolverine) and that he has to deliberately maintain it in that upswept style. In the comics, it's almost as if it's permanently stuck in that position, and his classic pointy mask is meant to accommodate those points on his hair.

Well in the comics its natural because it just is. His natural father had it like that. Its implied his mother is the mutant carrier so his hair is just biological. Also I think his hair is supposed to be less outlandish in the realms of the comic verse. Like his hairstyle is far more natural looking to them.

So it's just a natural human hairstyle, and not a mutant-affected hairstyle (eg like how Beast (as drawn by either John Byrne or George Perez) also has points on his head)? If Wolverine's father had hair like that, then it's not meant to denote some animalistic nature but just a very bouffant style, almost like a 50s ducktail, or even a Clint Eastwood style, just a little more extreme (by sweeping the corners upwards)?

I've always liked his hair from "X-Men" it looked like it was naturally like that and didn't look like he took the time to comb it.

I'm in the minority...liked his hair best in X3

i liked his hair in X3 also but didn't like his sideburns his sideburns looked pretty good in XO:W
