Ragnar needs an intervention.

And Rollo needs to die!:cmad:

Welp, that didn't go according to plan...

Although I guess that depends on whose side you're on!

Ragnar's always been a little cuckoo, but between the age and the drugs he's really starting to lose the plot.

Shows like The Sopranos and The Shield, and more recently Breaking Bad, helped to pave the way for the success of anti-heroes in television. It's almost to the point where you'd be hard pressed to find a TV hero who's good and noble through and through.
Yeah, but I don't mind this because it's more realistic. Most people are a little bit good and a little bit bad. Few people are absolutely one way or the other.

Another great episode.
Rollo plan worked well ( the best compliment a Fremen can make but I digress )
Whose head was that at the end ? Looked like Floki's but it can't be his, was it ?
Ragnar is addicted to betel ( I had to find out which drug it was, the red teeth and gum was the clue ).

This episode was good stuff. Rollo once again surveying the carnage he's caused like a boss.

Ragnar's going off the rails and you have to wonder how long Bjorn et al will tolerate it.

Auslaug's decision to kiss Halbard or whatever his name is in public was a dumb one. This will definitely come back to bite her.

I though Rollo was somehow a plant; even after the vikings he killed a few eps back, but damn!

LOL, at the guy that's screwing everyone's wife while they're away!

He needs something to do when he's not killing Strigoi.

Oh my golly! This is one of the best dramas around town, holy heck. Gotta love King Ecbert, that whole scenario is all kinds of Shakespearean!

I was kind of hoping the [BLACKOUT]Chinese princess angle would lead somewhere, but I guess that plot's dead in the water.[/BLACKOUT]

:awesome:

You know, I could take Ragnar's solution to his problem more seriously if those iron chain towers had been more intimidating. :p

Atwell's was better, it gave me comfort, I will not read your posts the same way now.
Joking more or less :)

I'm glad [BLACKOUT]Yidu's dead. I never cared for the character. Too bad about Kwenthrith, though. She was always so interesting. Poor Aethelwulf.[/BLACKOUT]

Good to see that even Addict!Ragnar is still capable of clever ideas.

That Bjorn fakeout was something else. I was trying to think how Bjorn's early death would square with history then it was revealed he was alive. Phew!

I love little Sigrid. Running Halbard off. :hrt: I don't know what to think of that coin(?) she received at the end, though.

The Halbard storyline bored me.

Yidu choose the wrong thing to say to Ragnar at the wrong time.

Kwenthrith's story was only ever going to end one way. She isn't the type of woman to let things go.

Marvolo says that "Ragnar needs and intervention."

I am just wondering if the 'magic mushrooms' that Yidu is giving him might also be a powerful anti-venom that could save him from death by Aelle's snakes in the future?

If Travis Fimmel is indeed leaving the series this could open up the possibility of his return - maybe even after further travels to China, etc.?

Out of curiosity, how would you handle getting by the towers?

I thought Sigrid was a boy???

The Halbard storyline bored me.

Now that you mention it, me too. He was really interesting the first time around, but this time he just seems like some sleazy cult leader. Other than upsetting the queen the stuff going on back home doesn't seem to be going anywhere fast.

I'm pretty sure Sigrid is a girl's name. It's strange, though, because I thought Ragnar and Aslaug only had boys.

Sigurd, the spelling according to IMDB is played by a wee boy -mystery solved! :D

This season just isn't doing it for me. Too much padding and ass dragging.

I honestly don't mind Ragnar dying. I think the show is strong enough to survive his characters death. I could see Bjorn and his aged up siblings filling their fathers shoes.

There's at least a season's worth of material if they go by the history/saga of Ragnar's death and his sons' revenge.

Yeah it seems this half of the season is just about Paris 2.0 and a lot and I mean alot of world building.

My prediction? Last half of season 4 is about Vikings going back to England, another time jump we're all of Ragnar's kids are atleast young adults. Ivarr the Boneless will or will not join Ragnar in England.

Glad to see Ragnar's genius come back into play. I was getting tired of seeing him doped up all season; guess that won't happen again, seeing as how you know who is now dead.

The flogging to death scene was intense. But he sure had it coming!

Then tat is the girliest little boy who has ever lived.

Some unexpected events in this episode.
Count Odo fall in grace was a bit rushed, no details were given but maybe I missed that part in the dialogues. The historical Odo ( Eudes ) became King of the Frank in 888 after the siege of Paris by the Vikings. Anyways, it was nice to see him get his own treatment.

The death of the Chinese princess was also unexpected but I will not miss her, feeding Ragnar with Betel didn't bind him to her as she thought it would.

As other previous posters said, I find the story with the lusting wandered uninteresting and the actor pronunciation doesn't help either, like he is grinding marble in his mouth.

I was worried that Ecbert met his doom by the hand of the crazy Queen but luckily, one-ear concubine saved the day.

Totally unrelated, Atwell's avatar is back with a twist ! :)
