That desert scene was surprising. So Bjorn returns to the Middle East.

That looks Like Iceland at the end . . .

Actually, it also looks a lot like the Shetland Islands (and I only know that because I just started watching 'SHETLAND' on Netflix).

And that would be a less-expensive and much closer locale to the production's base in Ireland than would be Iceland.

That's true. I guess I just assumed it was meant to be Iceland because of the volcano.

Holy ****! Pouring that molten metal down his throat

He's not right in the head. :p

They really cast the perfect guy to play Ivar. He's got a hint of Fimmel's Ragnar swagger, but with a real sadistic bent.

The way he crawls around fast and kills people and then does that creepy smile is soul chilling. If someone came at me like that Id run like a little *****. He really is an embodiment of the image that Saxons imagine when they think of Vikings. He's like a demon.

Poor Lagertha. Her world is coming undone and she doesn't even realize it. Astrid is going to turn against her and the fact that she is going to do it with Harald is sickening. I liked Astrid a lot.:(

Lagertha essentially raping Harald...Im conflicted about that. Rapes bad obviously. But he wanted to **** her anyways. He just wanted to do it on his terms and use it as leverage. Lagertha showed him that it would be on her terms and he had no say in it. And lets be honest if she was chained up he would probably rape her. Ugh. I'll just say it was unexpected and move on.

The new bishop is exactly what I expected. A close minded self sure zealot. When he was told about the Viking's ingenuity and work to reinforce York's defenses and he said, "They are pagans and devil's and nothing more." I knew I was going to have a love hate relationship with this character.

Yeah bishop heahmund is no King Eckbert, not by a longshot. Damn, he was awesome. I don't know if Heahmund can fill his shoes but we'll see.

That Lagertha scene also had me scratching my head. At first i thought maybe she wants to have his kid in order to have a claim on his kingdom but that is really longterm. I don't know if Lagertha is thinking that far ahead. Also, i vaguely remember the seer telling her she couldn't have anymore kids. So yeah, she basicly just raped Harald?

Ivar though man. As crazy and violent as he is, i really like him. The actor does a fantastic job. I'm telling you guys, Ivar is the new Ragnar! RIP Ragnar :csad:

Great first episodes. Forgot how much i missed this show.

I keep forgetting that Lagertha is Bjorn mom, seeing how hot and young she still looks! The scene where she has sex with Harald was a show of power. That is essentially what rape is.

Ivar is definitely the best character on the show for me.

Those episodes were seriously excellent. The only parts I didn't like were how the church in York had no idea the town was under attack until the Vikings strolled in, and Harald's sudden regard for Astrid seemed to come out of nowhere.

Heahmund is an excellent addition to the show. I respect him for keeping the Saxons together after Ecbert's death and Aethelwulf's disappearance. Yes he's close-minded but I think he'll prove to be a worthy adversary to Ivar.

Speaking of Ivar, the writers must have jumped for joy when they realized that mythology had furnished them with such a complicated character. He's cruel and paranoid to the point that he even alarms his own brothers, yet he's also vulnerable and his disability provides him with moments of triumph (e.g. the part where he puts on braces and walks to his brothers).

Margarethe and Torvi vs Lagertha also has potential to be interesting.

What is Margrette even doing in the inner circle? She might not be a slave anymore but she doesn't have a function. I mean she's not a warrior, not a shieldmaiden, not related to anyone in camp Lagertha. I don't think she Torvi will turn on Lagertha though.

The slave helped Lagertha trap the brothers so they could be locked up while Lagertha took back Kattegat.

Yeah but any half decent looking woman could've lured 2 horny vikings into a trap. And she hasn't done anything noteworthy after that but hey, she is hot and Lagertha likes girls now so i guess that's something.

Isn't Margrette married to Ubbe ? That would warrant her a seat at the table.

Damn! The scene with Ivar propped against the wagon holding off the army with his shear fearlesness was the best thing i've seen on tv all year! Wow!

Hell yeah!!! That was awesome! Also, am i wrong or did that girl give him an erection? And how naive was Ubbe? Of course the Saxons are not just gonna roll over and make peace. I also think they should flesh out Hitsvek more. Even Siggurd had more personailty than him. I Can't wait for the Heahmund vs ivar battle though. That staredown was epic.

Ivar is crazy nuts, lol. :p I can't see him reaching a ripe old age.

He's one of the most famous Vikings ever so he probably won't die any time soon. He has lots more to do.
