Hopefully i dont get everyones hopes too high for this thread, but i figured i might as well go ahead and start a thread for the next Hitman title. We have confirmation that the game is in development and now Variety is reporting that the game will make it out in "Late 2010". They also report that the sequel to the movie Hitman will "feature story elements from Hitman 5". Kotaku had a brief post about this.

The 2nd movie i dont really care about, i mean i didnt hate the first and ill see the 2nd due to the fact that its about Hitman, but im ready for the game. What are some of the things you guys want to see in the next Hitman game?

I'm not a big fan of stealth games but I enjoyed Blood Money (haven't played the others). What I want to see is for 47 to be put in more situations where he has no choice but to shoot it out.

In Blood Money, there was gunplay on some missions; the fight with the assassin in the white house, and the last level. So there should be more levels where it's not completely stealth.

The NPCs and enemies A.I. should also be improved.

I want more big areas with lots of people and options. Like the Casino/Hotel in blood money (i think).

Man, that's reason to worry. I hope to god they do not rush the game to match the movie's release. I am in love with these games and have been waiting eagerly for a real next gen Hitman. Blood Money, which was awesome, was still just a port after all.

Hitman 5 needs to be nothing short of amazing because this series has been off the radar for so long. A mediocre game now would kill the franchise.

I second that. The first Hitman sucked, and I really think this one will, too, but I don't want the game franchise to go down in quality. Always really liked the Hitman games.

Level ideas

-A large passenger plane in mid-flight. It would be full of passengers and take place at night. There would be several people you would need to take out. I like the idea of such an enclosed environment with so many witnesses.

-A football stadium. You can sneak into a private booth and snipe someone as they give a speech.

-A contract which takes place at a movie premiere were you take out an actor or a director or something.

-A prison level. Your objective would be to assassinate a crime boss being kept safe in the prison or the chief warden.

-A country club level. It fits perfectly with some of the people 47 is asked to assassinate(rich, powerful etc.)

-Another hospital level. Your target would be someone your client tried to take out earlier but they lived and they want 47 to take him out before he reveals who tried to kill him.

-A carnival or amusement park mission. You can hotwire the rollercoaster and make it crash off the rails when your target is on making it look like an accident.

-A museum level. Great potential for ambiance inside with an aquarium, Egypt exhibit, etc. If there is any kind of shark tank, that is going to be a great kill. Any sort of a Medieval exhibit will provide a variety of unique weapons too.

-I know we had a similar one on the riverboat in Blood Money but how about a cruise ship? God, so many possibilities: throw someone off the side or into the machinery in the bowels of the ship, use a lifeboat to escape, poison the buffet, rig the ship's controls to run aground, etc.

-A level that's in the city of Paris and you can go to the top of the Eiffel Tower and throw someone off.

-Another hotel level.

-Another mansion level.

I don't think there is any reason to worry. The movie will have script elements from the game, not the other way around. I mean they just hired a writer for the next film, the next Hitman game has been in development for a while. Plus the same guys who made the past Hitman titles are on this one. IOI hasn't given us a poor Hitman yet, I doubt they'll start now.

damn, we have to wait over a whole year for this!? :csad:

It should have came out last year. That's what they've been doing ever since the first one came out. Having a new one every two years.

I can't believe you had this same idea. I've been writing this same thing for a Hitman Fanfic. My story pretty much starts off with people showing up to a euro president's speech in a football stadium. The place is packed and 47 is sitting in the corners of the stadium taking the place of a sniper he managed to take out before the people arrived.

The whole studium is viewable to 47 as he has a few things to take care of in this mission. One is to protect the president from another assassin who is being guided by the head of security. And the second is the assassinate the vice president, but only after he has taken his place on stage.

This leads into my idea for something i want to see in the game. It was in a mission during the second game, where 47 had to kill someone in a room, but couldn't until he knew who the target was. This was provided by hints from Diana as the mission was going.

I want this to happen as 47 uses the sniper scope to read the lips of the head of security (HOS). And by reading his lips, I want 47 to speak for the guy. So as the HOS is moving his lips, 47 speaks over the top. Each clue hints 47 in on the location and look of the assassin.

Anyway, it's just an idea i've been working on.

Yea, well i have a feeling they are putting this on a new engine which might explain why its been this long since we have seen it. Blood Money wasnt a true next gen title, it was just a port. A fantastic port, but still a port.

if you need anything more than a silenced Silverballer and Sniper Rifle to get through a level, you're playing it wrong

I still play the hotel level in Blood Money. So, so awesome. And the Heaven/Hell party.

The only time I use other weapons like a shotgun is when I decide to go on a massacre and kill everyone in the level.

i got bored beating it that i play those levels and kill every person in the entire map.

i tried to do that in the mardi gras level but apparenty, it's impossible.

Same, though I've never tried the Mardi Gras level myself

Fake. They use real actors and randomly switch to a video game head at the end, the CG effect. Yeah.

This looks to be our first glimpse of the next game in the Hitman series. Well, not the game, per se, more like the game's poster and promotional artwork.

It can be found on the website of Great Graphics, a design firm that's worked with Square Enix - the series' new publisher - before, on the upcoming Kane & Lynch 2.

Both these posters show a burning Hitman logo, the branding of publishers Eidos and Square Enix and, most importantly, that of long-time series developers IO Interactive. One also has 2011 stamped on it. Seems to suggest a 2011 release for the next Hitman game, but since they're listed as poster concepts on the company's page, and not the final product, don't go holding them to that just yet.

interesting.

just glad it's finally getting made after so long.

Yea same here. Id assume, once Kane and Lynch 2 are out, they should start the marketing for this game.

Im stoked to see new game.
