Hitman 2 one-versus-one online competitive Ghost Mode announced
Published 23 mins ago. 2 comments.
Assassinate the most targets in a match.

Hitman-2-PV_10-12-18.jpg

Hitman 2 will have a one-versus-one online competitive mode called “Ghost Mode,” publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer IO Interactive announced.

Here is an overview of the mode, via Warner Bros.:

Agent 47 is the world’s deadliest assassin, and the only person who can match him in skill, stealth, and execution is… himself. Therefore, Ghost Mode allows two players to compete against each other online, both as Agent 47, to assassinate the most targets in a match. At the start of each round, both players begin side-by-side and must race to take out the same targets faster and cleaner than their opponent, all the while utilizing weapons, items, outfits, and ghost crate supply drops along the way to help accomplish the overall mission.

The unique twist with Ghost Mode in Hitman 2 is that players will simultaneously hunt targets while in the same location and can see a “ghost” version of their rival player to track progress against their own, but they exist in separate realities unaffected by the actions of their adversary. In Ghost Mode, the player who can outsmart, outplay and outkill their opponent by eliminating five targets first, will declare victory.

Hitman 2 is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 13.

Got this (Hitman 2) yesterday and making my way through the Miami mission, it's a hell of a lot harder than the previous game IMO. However seems to have been launched with a few glitches, my second target has simply walked off the map and there is no way of reaching him, having to go back to a previous save point and go again from a less 'advanced' launch position.

Roadmap-2019-FINAL-1024x605.jpg

As rumors swirl that IO Interactive has been poached by Microsoft and that a big announcement is set for E3, a roadmap for new Hitman 2 content has been released online. New sniper maps, locations, and Special Assignment Missions are on the horizon as major DLC content will be released this Spring, Summer, and Fall.

In addition to all of the content listed above, IO Interactive is promising that they have even more surprises up their sleeve and that more updates will be revealed in subsequent roadmaps and live streams. More details will be revealed during the next IOI Monthly live stream on April 26.

Launched last November, Hitman 2 received favorable review scores but hasn't achieved the same level of buzz as its predecessor. It was reported to have poor launch sales numbers, though statistics tabulated were for physical copies only, with digital sales figures currently unconfirmed.

Hitman 2 features a brand-new playground for Agent 47, the world’s deadliest assassin, with six dynamic locations to explore, franchise-first multiplayer modes in Sniper Assassin and Ghost Mode, and a myriad of new enhancements and upgrades that truly perfect the assassination.

While killing Sean Bean's Mark ‘The Undying’ Faba was supposed to be a one-in-a-life opportunity, IO Interactive has announced that the elusive target will be back in Hitman 2 between May 3 and June 3.

In Hitman 2, Bean plays "The Undying," a former MI5 agent who's turned to freelance assassinations. While the target will return, you will still have only one chance to make it count and successfully eliminate Faba – but this time you will only get the Flash Grenade Robot by playing the contract.

With the Hitman 2 – Miami Pack, you’ll get full access to the following content:
  • Hawke’s Bay (New Zealand) location and Nightcall mission (part of the FREE Starter Pack)
  • Miami (USA) location and The Finish Line mission
  • The Undying Returns Elusive Target, featuring Sean Bean between May 3rd and June 3rd
  • Ghost Mode: Miami
  • Sniper Assassin Mode: Himmelstein

I finished the main campaign, Patient Zero and Sarajevo Six.

I was a bit pretty surprised that the game was a bit short. The game only had seven destinations, and you will go back to those for the side quests which isn't a bad thing but seven locations aren't really many. I didn't really get any resolution from the main story, it ended abruptly and it was like a set up for a future game. So it was weird when I finished the main story. There wasn't rewarding about the story. The people that I was supposed to assassinate felt like cardboard characters. Like there were just there to be killed and there was no special cutscene or interaction when you killed them.

I also didn't really do all the "challenges", mastery and elusive targets, as I would just go back to the previous locations and do the same assassin thing just with a different method. I pretty much used the same five tools throughout the entire thing, though there were few things that I've also used rarely. Now I'm finished with the game, I'm a bit whelmed. I was really enjoying it in the beginning but the story was nothing special in the end. I expected more.

However, I think the game looks really good. Despite only having seven destinations, those seven have so much spaces and rooms and people can explore and experiment with their environment. I don't think I have seen every corner of those locations. I enjoyed being a hitman, dragging bodies, stealing clothes and there was one mission in which I had to kill like a hundred people because they were all infected - that was fun. I also liked how I can escape easily after assassinating someone and I wasn't being hunted or being chased. It felt cool. And when I was being chased, it was kinda thrilling. The game also has easy controls, though I didn't really use the map that much as it wasn't very easy to follow. I never played a Hitman game before so I enjoyed it for the experience but the game isn't really rewarding to me.

I'm done with Hitman 2. I really took my with the 2nd one as it has fewer available locations. There are 4 locations that I would need to pay through PSN and I'm not doing that, so I just watched the walkthroughs of those online. Since the locations/missions from Hitman 1 were available in this, I played those again and I visited every corner of the locations. I did the same to the locations in Hitman 2. Out of the new locations, I liked Miami and Mumbia.

Its unfortunate that the cutscenes of Hitman 2 were static. The characters don't move their mouth at all. They were basically just pictures with few animations. After playing the two Hitman games back to back, I don't really get the story of this and I'm not interested to see where its going. The gameplay is easy but even if I do the harder difficulties and challenges, finishing them won't be rewarding to me.

I hope it has more locations than Hitman 2. The thing about the last two Hitman games, are the controls are easy to remember, the locations are mostly great but I just don't have the energy to try every scenario in assassinating someone. And I hope they have actual cutscenes like in the 1st game instead of moving pictures.

IOI CEO Says Square Enix 'Lost Faith' in Hitman Franchise

I don't know if i should buy Hitman III this month or wait for a sale. The game is going to feature siX locations and this is the type of game that could be finished in a day if you are really good. But then I revisited the locations in the last two games just to assassinate people and visit every room/corner when I had nothing else to play.

Of the re-launched games (PS4 and higher), the first was excellent and completed, but 2 wasn't so hot, hope this 3rd one is a solid effort, pleased to hear its on PS4 as well, definite birthday present to myself.
