Has anyone thought of using the Hobgoblin in this rebooted franchise? I don't think in the first one, I just think he would be great. What ways could he be incorporated?

My opinion, he's almost like the Joker in Dark Knight, crazy bat-sh#$ guy trying to take over the mob - he dresses up w/ prostethic mask, very similar but techish to the comics (think secret war from benidis). If anything he would be the inspiration or precursor to the Green Goblin in a future film - people would then accept the Green Goblin's appearance.

I can see Goblins on gliders in these films. I want to. Some bad-a#@ aerial fights are needed.

Hobgoblin works best if introduced after the original Green Goblin, I think.

That´s true, Raimi showed a helmet in spider-man 3 that would possibly led into the hobgoblin.
Hobgoblin is like a substitute to the Green Goblin.

I love Hobgoblin as one of my favourite villains, but I really think he can't be there unless Green Goblin's been there already in the same franchise (I know SMTAS did that but it's a cartoon and still it didn't really work well imo). Green Goblin is the definite arch enemy of Spider-Man and having Hobgoblin there before him would affect that status in a bad way I think.

And even after Green Goblin, I think Harry should become a goblin before Hobgoblin. He's more important to the overall story I think, even though it already happened in Raimi's run. Then, having Hobgoblin appear after that would be too tedious. Like "uhm...thrice? what!?".

However, it might sound hypocritical by me, but I could still see a movie with both Green Goblin II and Hobgoblin work somehow. That would make for a cool rivality and mystery (Both Harry and Parker might think "Is that Norman??". Though, there would be a need for a third villain too I think, for diversity, like Mysterio or Scorpion.

Blah blah, I hope you understand what I mean because my English ain't perfect now I feel :P

That´s right, i was hoping that after spider-man 3 raimi would use the hob goblin, i think that the goblins in the films are important there is almost a goblin heritage.
When one dies, the other takes his place.

Actually, I meant quite the opposite. While Hobgoblin is still an awesome villain, having all those three Goblins in the same franchise would be too much, unless they somehow use both Green Goblin II and Hobgoblin in the same movie with a third villain in the mix too for diversity. That could make for some awesome rivalry and mystery, however the director would need some serious skills to make it work I think.

Hmm...How did I miss this one? Anyway, Hobby should never come before Gobby...or atleast Norman. He could come before Harry starts dressing up though. Wonder if they could start to set Roderick Kingsley up early though? They could also set Ned Leeds up early as well (just so he could take the fall later)... I would say, wait until movie 4 at LEAST.

Which version do you want to see, the non-superpowered version such as Roderick Kingsley version amongst others or the superpower enchanced version such as Jason Macendale?

I like Hobby, but I kinda agree with Oscorp. At least on the first part of his post.

GG is the main Goblin and Spidey's arch nemesis! Eventually Harry will also become a Goblin and with Hobby around, there will be way too many Gobbies flying around!:awesome:

Having two Goblins in back to back series might not be the best way to go.

Harry shoulda been HobGoblin instead of that POS they turned him into

That's what Green Goblin should do, not Hobgoblin, imo.

Yep; totally agree. He's the son of Norman Osborn. Harry should have become another Goblin and not Raimi's version of Rocket Racer. And besides, having a Goblin work together with Spider-Man would have been fitting with it being the last of Raimi's series and also Harry making up for his father's mistakes as the original Goblin.

I don't think we'll ever see him on the big screen. Unless they (foolishly) skip over Norman altogether.

I think someone should be smart enough to forget about a live-action trilogy and focus on a series of Direct-to-DVDs. Imagine what could happen if we get a series of nine or ten films. First Green Goblin, and then later on in that series, we could get Hobgoblin.

I agree, I think it would have been an easy way to fit a different villian into the movies while still somewhat keeping Harry becoming the next Goblin.

I also agree but because I think he's probaly looked at as a rip off character. What I mean is the studio would probaly and the general audience would probaly be like he looks like the Green Goblin so why not just use the Green Goblin.

And Hobgoblin is my favorite SPider-Man vilian and one of my all time favorite villians.

^Why make Harry Hobgoblin? Those are two very, very different characters!

I'd love some animated Spider-Man D2DVDs with better "art style" and design than SSM. Something like Batman's got with Under The Red Hood. I'd love that.

I LOVE Hobgoblin but I doubt we'll ever see him in the movie franchise.

I was so looking forward to seeing the SSM version of him as well, but now...

The Hobgoblin is not crazy (unless you count the demon-possesed Jason Mercendale), he is sociopath. Norman Osborn is the crazy one.

Regardless, I would love to see the Hobgoblin in the new series and I don't really think it would pose any confusion for viewers.

I think it would be a way to use Harry and use a new villian at the same time. Plus I think it's probaly the only way there would be a chance of seeing the Hobgoblin. But I would rather him not be used if they did use him and it suck.

Sorry for being OT, but I've always wondered what the difference is between a psychopath and a sociopath. Here in Sweden the term sociopath is almost never used as it's considered unscientific and obsolete here. So I've never got the hang of it. If someone would give me a short explanation, I'd appreciate it alot! :)

Oh, and I love those pics. I haven't seen the Alex Ross one before (or is it by him? It kinda looks like his style somewhat).

I think Harry being Hobgoblin worked in the Ultimate series.

It would've worked just as well for Spider-Man 3 than him being a whole new villain, imo.
