Hollywoodland

Did a lil research and found out a few inconsistancies about the movie:

1. The whole scene with the audience snickering at Reeves during his role in From Here to Eternity, didn't take place. Friends of Reeves said there was no screening and that never happened.

2. The way they portrayed his career going nowhere was untrue. Superman was looking to make a comeback and do 26 more episodes. Paramount was going to sign him to a 5 picture deal. He filmed a few days work in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho before his death. Which furthers the questions of why he would shoot himself if his career was about to take an upturn.

But besides those, the movie was very well done. Probably one of the better movies I saw this year. Brody, Affleck and Lane did a fantastic job.

A lil side note Eddie Mannix died 4 years later after Reeve's death and Toni Mannix kept a shrine to Reeves in her home.

Huh, I didn't know that. He was the detective, I guess?

That would have been pretty cool.

It was great seeing The Fleck put the Spanish he learned from Gwyneth to good use.

I was going to say wouldn't that be J. Lo but then I remembered ironically J. Lo isn't fluent in Spanish. LOL

Yeah, Gwyneth thought him el espanol.

On the Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith DVD if you go under options and then highlight the THX logo and type in 1138, and it gives you a minute, minute and a half video of Yoda dancing.

But it did happen when the movie was in theatres, just not at a sneek preview

Just saw it. Really excellent movie. Th Fleck was the bomb.

A few inconsistancies, but what can you do....and as assassin said.

I do like how it really didn't draw a real conclusion. Which you would expect. It just gave information and let the audience think for itself.

I do like how they tied Reeve's life into Brody's character. Seeing how Reeve's family screwing his head could have driven him further to suicide made him clean himself up and try to be apart of his son's life. That was a nice touch.

Yeh this movie looks pretty good judging by the trailer. Anyone know when it is coming to Australia?
Fairly keen to see it.

Yes but not with Reeves watching and obviously they didn't cut the scene because it's still on video/dvd.

I wasn't alive during this time, but was wondering- to those of you that were- what are your memories of hearing the news about George Reeves murder (or suicide)?

Um...most of the people here are teens to thirties. This happened in 1959.

I still havent seen this movie yet but when I get some time off work or something I will....

But I heard Ben Affleck won Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival for his role in this movie. Well props to the 'Fleck, dude is finally on that comeback trail. I guess we can say 'Fleck>>>> Welling and Routh

Fleck was the bomb in The Phantoms, yo.

Can't wait for Damon and the Fleck in Star Trek Ver. 2.0.

Illogical Captain, I'm the Fleck.

I think you need more then a "lil research". There was NO 5 picture deal and he wasn't involved with "Psycho" at all. And his role is "From Here to Eternity" was shortened.
