Aloha,
Hope you have seen the movie(at least once by now) Thought of the many comic books that I saw Homecoming take references from. Thought I'd see who caught them.

Jason Ionello and Betty Brant
were the two students making announcements at Peter's school-
What comics do they first appear in?
First appearance of the Vulture?
First appearance of the Shocker?
First appearance of the Tinkerer?
First appearance of Max Gargan?
First appearance of Aaron Davis?
First appearance of Iron Spider costume?
First appearance of Ned Leeds?
First appearance of Liz Allen?
First appearance of Flash Thompson?
First appearance of Peter lifting a massive object that he was buried under?
In general I am not a trivia buff (Themanofbat is the champ in that arena:yay:) but I so enjoyed Homecoming, I thought I'd give it a try.

Pretty sure Jason first appears at some point in Untold Tales, but I could be wrong. I think Betty first appears in ASM 2? May be later.

I didn't know that you were asking about Jason and Betty's first appearances, but since you ARE, Betty first showed up in ASM #4... as for Jason, I THINK he first showed up in UTOSM #1, but I could be wrong...

Jason is in Untold #1
He could even actually be in Amazin Fantasy 15 as one of the unnamed bullies.
Sally, who isn't in homecoming, is in amazing fantasy 15 as well

Actually Sally was in Homecoming, though you wouldn't know it. She was a student on the Decathlon team though I don't recall if she even had any lines and I didn't even realize she was in the movie until I saw her name in the credits lol.

I think she had one line in the scene where Peter quits.

Prowler first appeared in ASM #79 and 80... created by John Romita JR when he was a kid...

I can't remember the Ultimate first appearance of the others... I'm more of a REAL old school Spidey fan from the 1960's than a modern fan from recent years...

The part where spidey instinctively shoots his webbing in the air while in the suburbs but it just falls straight down is from ASM # 267 "The Commuter Cometh" which is one of my favorite issues of all time.

Aloha,

the Spider Signal first showed up in ASM #3, while the Spider Tracer first showed up in ASM #11...

how's THAT for a pretty good memory of Spidey history from an old man?... :funny:

Spidey was tested and offered Avengership in ASM Special #3, while Spidey met Shellhead and Cap for the first time in Avengers #11, I THINK...

I'm still a blank on the Iron Spider costume, which is rather a forgettable moment for me personally...

Many are saying that they are happy that we didn't get the With great power comes great responsibility speech in Homecoming.Trick question: Where was that line first used and by who?

The fist known usage was on May 8, 1793 in a collection of decrees made by the French National Convention during the Revolution. English translation as follows: They must consider that great responsibility follows inseparably from great power.

Edit: I thought it was made by Voltaire but after googling, it appears that may have been false.

actual history usage aside, the COMIC usage was in Amazing Fantasy #15 in the last panel... the classic line actually wasn't spoken by anyone, but was part of the dialogue of the last panel in the Spidey origin story... which is what I think you were really referring to, DT, and not the history class lesson... :oldrazz:

Lol. Yeah, my bad I guess. He did say "trick question" so I thought it was gonna be something not so obvious.

Though the trick part is probably that the line is part of the narration and not dialogue like how it's often attributed to Uncle Ben.

Maybe I'll get a half point for going above and beyond :yay:

Aloha,
Man you are too good. Yes, that line which is attributed to Uncle Ben was not said by Uncle Ben or anyone for that matter (unless you give it to Stan Lee). It's the very last panel at the bottom of the page of AF#15.
