Comics Homecoming comic book appearances

Lol. Yeah, my bad I guess. He did say "trick question" so I thought it was gonna be something not so obvious.

Though the trick part is probably that the line is part of the narration and not dialogue like how it's often attributed to Uncle Ben.

Maybe I'll get a half point for going above and beyond :yay:

back in the 1960's, it was a 'prestigious' award to anyone who spotted any sort of mistake or continuity error in any of their titles and wrote to them about it... sometimes they would print your letter in a title of your reading pleasure and sometimes not...in thanks, they would actually mail off to you an empty envelope with some verbiage on it that stated it was a No-Prize ... I got one back then, but over the years I lost it, unfortunately... but it WAS a big thing to get from Marvel back then...

now I'VE got a question for DONALD THOMAS EXCLUSIVELY... I want to see how good is the other old man of the Spidey boards on specifically, Marvel trivia...

and no Googling, just honest memory flashbacking on your part...

what were the six Marvel rankings that a Marvelite could be self-awarded for?... and you don't have to specify what each ranking was awarded for... just what they were... ready?... set?... GO!... :woot:

Aloha,
I told you I was bad at trivia. As a former member of the MMMS (what was that?:cwink:) I am embarrassed that I only remember True believer and keeper of the flame I think).I'll pinch myself when you run them off. I wonder how many people working at Marvel these days remembers any of this stuff.

MMMS stood for the Merry Marvel Marching Society... it was something that Marvel started if you sent them a dollar... for the dollar, they sent you a cheaply-made flexible disc of the Marvel Bullpenners singing the silly MMMS song, along with some other Marvel merchandise... as you can tell, I was also a member... jeez, I miss those days of reading Marvels and getting all that Marvel stuff... I was around 10 years old at the time (I'm 62 now) and I was in hog heaven as Marvel was beginning and developing and evolving from the 60's and 70's... that was the TRUE CLASSIC golden age of Marvel...

as for the rankings at Marvel back then, here's a memory refresher for you, DT...

nah, you wouldn't want me for your Jeopardy partner... my ex-wife was fond of telling me that the only thing I was really good at was remembering the most useless and unimportant trivia there is and that when it came to remembering the more IMPORTANT stuff, I was completely useless...

that's ONE of the reasons she's now my ex-wife... all that moral support... :oldrazz: :funny:

evidently, it turned out I was WRONG in two of my answers... Ned Leeds first showed up in ASM #18, while the Prowler first showed up in ASM #78 and 79... I stand corrected... by MYSELF...

Aloha,
Boy we are on the same wavelength. My very first Spider-Man comic was #18

and I was going to write today that I think you missed that Ned Leeds question.

Same goes for the Prowler in Amazing. Now what was his first appearance in Ultimate? Yes I know Ultimate Universe is dead:yay:

that is the weirdest coincidence, man... ASM #18 is MY very first Spidey I ever bought, as well... :wow:

What's your favorite drink?

I USED to be a beer-drinkin' hell-raiser in my mad youth, so brew was my main poison of choice, but ever since they diagnosed me with Type 2 diabetes, I've chosen to avoid alcoholic drinks in my present years... :csad:

Aloha,
So I saw Homecoming for the second time the other week.
Peter hits Shocker with a spider tracer when they are walking up the stairs in school.
1-First appearance of the Spider Tracers.
2-First time Spidey is able to use the tracers WITHOUT a GPS device but with his spider sense!

BTW-Aug 2, 2017-Homecoming hit $600 million total Box office

From memory, first Spider Tracer in ASM #11

I typically drink MooseHead Pale Ale, but as a Type 1 diabetic, I don't drink much...

Aloha,
Yes, he invented it to track Doc Ock if memory serves me. Now what issue did he fine tune the tracers so that he could pick up the signal with his spider sense alone?
Spidey rules

I believe it was the very same issue. It wasn't until later that he even connected it to GPS. I could be wrong, though!

Aloha,
No sorry.ASM #11 with Doc Ock is where he invented the spider tracer with a GPS device.
Keep searching.

ASM Annual #2 and ASM #37 are the only Ditko comics where you don't see a device, but he never mentions using his Spider-Sense...
Time to check the JrSr books lol

He's holding a GPS device in ASM #51, but he tracks Doc Ock without one in ASM #54, and he's using his Spider-Sense, so I'm gonna guess ASM #54

I'm stumped on the question of the tracer tuneup and Spidey using his spider sense alone to track them down... and I don't usually get stumped on questions like this... it's a good mind-stumper, DT, I salute you... whomever solves THIS one is a better man than I... I'd like to know the answer to this myself... I probably DO know the answer, but with the passage of time, it just eludes me now...

alright, DT... you've provided one mind-stumper, so I'll return the favor... when did Peter discover his spider sense for the VERY FIRST TIME?... I remember where it happened, but I unfortunately don't remember the EXACT issue it happened... who can answer THAT?... now beat THAT... :oldrazz: and somehow I get the feeling that themanofbat can answer this one...
