Horror Movies Aren't For Kids

Ugh. Only two protagonist? Slasher films suck unless there are atleast four throw away characters.

I don't oh. Okay. So i pay money to hear a bunch of loud mouths talk.

I'll remember that next time i go. Thanks for setting me straight.:yay:

That has nothing to do with the post that you quoted...

You quoted me about a post that I made that was a response to an earlier post of yours that talked about girls being afraid of movie previews, and horror movies in general. You couldn't get it past your head that just because you aren't afraid of a film, that doesn't mean others can't be.

yeah, kids did that when I went to see the Grudge. Kids were shouting stuff and laughed everytime a person died.

Believe me, it wasn't just the kids. This is the Grudge we're talking about, after all.

My mistake. I mistook this for the movie in JAL's post, the strangers.

That movie looks pretty good actually even though it only has two people it looks pretty good, sometimes two people are pretty good.

The Grudge relied on quick pop up scares. I'll admit it. The Grudge 2 scared me twice, but all due to noise and pop-up. :o

Thats what PG-13 movies are pop up scares.

Or having something fall over or have a animal jump out.

Pop-ups are in every genre of film, not just horror. The point that I'm trying to make it that a PG-13 horror film is not bad. It's just that all of the ones so far have been bad. An R rating is not going to change a crappy movie. Sometimes, it makes it worse. A horror film is not bad just because it's a PG-13.

But they weren't scary.

it was The Eye remake Trailer. and within the first 2 mins of the film OMC they were yelling.

and when i saw th hills have eyes 2 this couple behinf me the girl was like this is so scary i don't think i can take anymore.

Then i just felt like turning around and yelling LEAVE THEN!!!!!!!!

People have no RESPECT!
If you were looking for respect in a movie theater, then you shouldn't have seen "Hills Have Eyes 2". That movie was god-awful.

It was atleast make it more entertaining if it was R I think.

American horror has been dead for quite long time now. And it'll continue to be so.

Time to time there comes something nice (Saw I-II, Eli Roth, Snyder's DotD etc.), but overall American horror is fcking dead. Fcking watered down remakes after watered down remakes. For fcks sake! Hollywood, wake up!

All hail Eurohorror! At least that's good at the moment.

You hear this hollywood1 So cut the crap!

Sony Screen Gems Plans PG-13 'Hell Night'

I hate how kiddie-ized Hollywood has became.

That has to be about the dumbest thing i've ever heard. Since when are horror movies for little kids. that's why they got nick and disney and cartoon network!

I will Bleeping Bleep those Bleeps!

Aren't teenagers the prime demographic for horror movies? If theaters are really cracking down on underagers going to movies it's not surprising the studios are watering down horror movies to make sure their prime audience can get in the theater.

that's a ridiculous and very ignorant generalization.

like it's been said more than enough times in this thread: the only thing that 'R' horror movies have over 'PG13' horror movies are ****, ass, swear words, and gore.

if that stuff is really that important to you, then watch rob zombie's halloween.

and i don't know what theaters you are going to, but stupid people talk at almost every movie. it has absolutely nothing to do with the film being a PG13 horror flick.

geez. grow up.

Tell me some good PG-13 horror flicks. I just wanna know what people consider to be good PG-13 horror so that I can check 'em out. You know, I'm also at the "Horror needs to be R or higher" -camp.

I don't remember exactly what PG-13's I've seen. At least the Ring remakes. They were lame.

I myself am a teen, and agree with you all. The last supposed "horror" 13-PG movie I'll be seeing in theatres was The Grudge, and I left 20 minutes in. Was all jump scares that builds suspense. I'm looking for good classic horror folks! The only good one ever was Dead Silence because it was from James Wan and Leigh Whannel, (the creators of Saw, a good horror movie that is currently a dead horse getting beat, and beat, and beat).

you call the grudge a bad movie, but only watched 20 minutes of it?

sounds fair.

I liked the originals when I saw them back in 2003-2004. Just a couple of weeks ago I started watching the third one (Ju-on: The Grudge) again. It hasn't aged very well. I felt it was very dull. Or maybe I have moved on from the Asian-scary-pale-girl genre. I was kinda addicted to those at one point.

Haven't seen the remakes. I might watch them some day just 'cause of SMG.

Most slasher movies are mediocre and appeal to teenagers. Teenagers are the biggest demographic for Hollywood studios to aim at. MOre will see it if it is PG-13. Therefore to make the most money, which is the only reason most of these movies since the 1980s are made, is to release it in a PG-13 rating.

I don't like that, but studios will only do what is money affective.

the grudge isn't very scary

You should've seen the theatre I was at. The instant the movie came on with the frying pan scene everyone bursted out in laughter. The milk vommiting and other scenes didn't help either.

That movie looks pretty good actually even though it only has two people it looks pretty good, sometimes two people are pretty good.

Sometimes. But I find, more often than not in this day and age, writers just can't capture a good suspense thriller like they used to. Last decent one I've seen was 1408. Plus in most of those type of genres, when the villin is human and the protagonist has a gun the movie becomes non-sensible, usually making the protagonist super dumb so as not to take advantage of that sort of... advantage.

I just can't seem to escape these trailers. Now I'm spooked again. :cmad:

it's just a bunch of people wearing stupid white sacks on their heads. They have to do much better than that to get me spooked.
