Hostel:Part II

And why the hell is this in german again with subtitles! Thats nother things that annoys me! Its a english movie speak english! :cmad:
Because Eli Roth said that German sounds more gruesome/brutal than English. (But I thought it was Russian this time? Dunno, I had sound on low.)

Eli Roth Talks 'Hostel 2' Cut Scenes, Plot!

While out promoting his faux trailer "Thanksgiving" (watch it here), which will appear in Dimension's Grindhouse this Friday, writer/director/producer Eli Roth talked to B-D about his upcoming horror film, Hostel: Part II (new trailer), which hits theaters June 8. Inside you'll find details on the cut scenes for DVD release and what his plans were in making the highly anticipated sequel from Lionsgate Films.

There have been hundreds of questions surrounding HOSTEL 2, but unlike the first film Eli isn’t keeping secret about what he’s going to be bringing to the plate, “For Hostel 2 there were a lot of different storylines that I wanted to continue. I was trying to think: ‘What would I want to see if I was watching a sequel?’ I wanted to see things from the killer’s point of view; I wanted to see girls getting lured there,” Eli tells us, “I really wanted to make the movie feel like that sequence (in the first one) when he’s in the locker room with the businessman going ‘How’d you do it, how did you kill?’ Like that scene and the scene with the girls in the pub, where he’s trying to ask them questions but he can’t get any answers, and he’s not sure if they’re answering him or if its lost in translation… that sort of uncertain, uncomfortable, really awkward creepy tone: that’s what I wanted the whole movie to feel like.”

Literally speaking Eli wanted the movie to pick up from the next cut, “with Jay on the train, if you just took out the end credits, what happens next?”

We also asked Roth about the DVD release of the film and whether or not we’ll get some extra goodies upon release, “Yeah I was actually editing some deleted scenes and other stuff for the DVD today. It’s really just stuff I cut for time. The goal was to make a better, scarier movie,” he tells us regarding what type of film it will be, “ I could easily make a more violent movie, you can show body parts being chopped up and there: It’s a more violent movie.” But that wasn’t his intention with Hostel 2, “I really wanted people to come out of the movie and say: ‘That was better than the first movie and it was scarier.’ And yeah it’s got the violence that you expect from Hostel - it’s gruesome, and it’s gnarly, but I just wanted to make a better, smarter, scarier, film.”

i dont know if any one has seen it but on eli roth's myspace page he has a clip from hostel 2 up. it looks really cool. seeing that makes me want to see it even more.

Only problem with number 2 is that it's pretty much the same as the first except we're adding girls to it. I'll still see it and probably buy the DVD but I'm not expecting anything to different. One prediction though, the guy who survived the first. I hear he's supposed to be in this on. So I figure he'll get caught by the organisation and this time he'll be killed.

P.S. If any more hot Japanese girls die in this film I'm going be really pissed lol.

I don't care for snuff films. I love horror films, but I think movies like Wolf Creek and Hostel are pure garbage. If I want to see boobies, I'll do a google search. It's easier and costs less money.

you nailed it dude

Gratitious gore is not my thing.

I hated Hostel in the theater, but grew to like it on DVD...weird...

I think it's because when I saw it in the theater I was expecting it to be something it wasn't (more like Saw)

I decided not to check out Hostel until well after it's DVD release, but I found it to be ok at best. I certainly wouldnt call it one of the worst films of that particular year, but I wouldnt say it was anything special either. Some parts were entertaining I felt. And I suppose I'll probably see Hostel 2 at some point. Although who knows when that will be as I honestly cant see myself rushing out to the theater to see it.

Wolf Creek didn't have "boobs" nor should it be grouped with Hostel.
WC spent a full 45 minutes on the characters without a drop of blood-letting, Hostel was a really bad porn with the typical Eli Roth traits that he showed in Cabin Fever of writing characters are rude, annoying, overly horny jackasses(basically himself) with uber fake looking prosthetic gore thrown in, certainly nowhere near realistic enough to begin with for Hostel to quailfy as a snuff film.

Hostel was more of a fictional snuff film than a horror movie.

I enjoyed Hostel more than Saw III. But what is snuff:confused:
That poster with the girl looks pretty good.
