Assuming the rights revert...and it's a very real possibility now*. Why not try something a little bit different with the franchise and do a Future Foundation film? This way Marvel wouldn't have to be burdened by Fox's 4 (yup 4) failed attempts with this property. These poor characters have had their names dragged through the mud so many times they may have little market value left. This way they can use the characters and the team in a whole new way. And they get to bring Spider-Man into the mix! Sounds too good to be true.

Besides I've always thought these were super cool costumes.

Oh and did I mention that having the F4 back at Marvel would bring home Dr. Doom, Galactus, Silver Surfer, and Kang? Just sayin'...

*For sure Fox isn't going to go forward with sequels or crossovers at this point. They also sure as hell aren't going to reboot it again. So at the very least it will revert in 7 years. However the recent wrinkle of Fox entering negotiations with Marvel to make an X-Men television series could give Marvel the leverage they need (and look how they leveraged Sony) to get the rights back sooner.

Future Foundation is probably the best solution for Marvel to take if they want to do a Fantastic four film earlier than later. Not only is it a great modern interpretation of the team, but they can take take advantage of marketing this to the general audience that this is something new, and from Marvel Studios, while still in nature being Fantastic Four. Its also a great way of including other MCU characters if they feel the four core members are not enough.

As far as branding goes it would be a neat idea. Though I would maybe say that with the name change there should be a bit of a change in dynamic, but still familiar. They could have the FF already established with Reed being the age he is in the comics and not a young nerd stereotype. Have Franklin and Valeria already born and maybe have the Foundation be a different type of organisation than the F4.

Though I'm not sure the public would necessarily be clueless to any such re-branding. One thing I know is the FF are dead at Fox.

I love love love the visuals/concept/design of Future Foundation. And I'd love to see it on screen. But Human Torch is one of the most fan-oriented characters ever created. It wouldnt be right to continue without him.

That being said, if they did Future Foundation in the far future, including Sony's new Spidey, THAT would be something to see. Marvel would have truly crossed oceans to bring that to its audience.

A Future Foundation version of the F4 doesn't have to be sans Johhny or directly reflect that iteration of the group from the comic. It could just be a stepping off point for re-branding.

They could start as a de facto Fantastic Four without officially naming themselves as such, and develop into an officially acknowledged Future Foundation. Yes, in the comics Torch was nominally dead at the time, but I think that can be excepted for the MCU. Plus, I'd absolutely love to see Spidey in his Future Foundation outfit.

You could have the Future Foundation being a research organisation that operates out of the Baxter Building, even introduce supporting characters there, but havw the classic group called the Fantastic Four unofficially. Maybe by the media or those who work there. Not as an ashamed name drop in the movie, but more as a point of admiration for the four heads of the Foundation.

As you can see in the picture you can have a Future Foundation with Human Torch. I would do it as the 5 of them. F4 and Spidey.

Cool idea.Although i think Spidey shouldnt be in the lineup.Keep johnny.Spidey is gonna be in New Avengers.
A future foundation movie sounds like a worthy successor to GOTG franchisei

I wouldn't have Spidey on the team. A cameo. Maybe. Would be nice to see him and Johnny as friends and have him cameo in a Spidey movie.

I agree with this in general, although I think a Lost in Space/Time F4 movie could work, but back on MCU Earth, the FF(Future Foundaiton) would be their official purpose.

Very much like the Xavier school, but more of a Silicon Valley/Bio Engineering incubator.

I think a problem with Future Foundation is that it would require the characters be established on some level. It would be hard to justify how the FF existed in the MCU, yet were inexplicably absent from all of the Avengers related stuff and Civil War.

I actually really like this idea. Having Reed, Sue, Ben and Johnny as the Future Foundation would take care of the general audience associating the Fantastic Four with less than stellar quality, you can always add new supporting characters without the audience going:

"Uh...so wait, are they the Fantastic Five now?"

I was talking with my sister a while back and I had the idea of the initial accident happening with the spaceshuttle in the 60s, but it send them off into either a time vortex, alternate world, or the Negative Zone and they come back in modern times.

I've seen similar ideas on line, but I do think it could work. You could also come up with Reed and Co knowing Pym, but the incident prevented them from aging and you can apply a McGuffin that catches them up to speed so that you don't have to re-introduce them to the modern world like Cap. Maybe Reed developed a device that could let them see their home world and the passage of time, but could not interact with it.

I think this is the best possible idea for a reboot I've heard so far. The Future Foundation is a cool and different concept and adding Spider-Man would be a fantastic audience draw.

I don't know guys, this could either be the Incredibles or Tomorrowland.

But what if Marvel hits a homerun. Could be another GotG or Avengers.

Awesome idea! I always loved the Future Foundation suits too! They can use this to re-brand the team, then maybe down the line once all the stench from the Fox versions have finally passed; maybe then they can rename them back to the Fantastic Four.

We wonder why the Avengers don't help each other during solo adventures and Marvel just dances around it.

Audiences just don't care.

I would LOVE a Future Foundation series on the big screen. Thinking about it, the Tron Legacy/Uprising suits would be a great base for those suits.

Looking at that middle pic...This could be the best thing ever.

Just call the movie FF: Future Foundation

But it is really just a rebooted Fantastic Four.

This would be my ideal way to go if Marvel gets the rights back. But I'm still preparing myself for the possibility of FOX trying this again in 7 years.

If a reboot was afraid to use the name "Fantastic Four" in the title they should just call it "World's Greatest Heroes".
