How could the Silver Surfer be improved on film?

If Surfer appeared on film now, a lot of people would compare him to Dr. Manhattan. And that's if he was done right, IMO.

Yeah if they gonna do the Surfer the board can't be the main source of his power nor can Galactus be a storm cloud. As far as what I see a movie being like with the Surfer as the star. Its gotta take place in space including all the races from Marvel, maybe start by the Nova force putting the Surfer on Trial for crimes against the universe. He could then tell his story about how he became the Surfer and what eventually drove him against his Master.

I think a silver surfer movie is a fantastic opportunity for Marvel to do a full on CGI animated film. Since the film will probably take place mostly in space and whatnot and so it'd be easier just to do a full CG film

Agreed. Now that DC is about to light up the Green Lantern, which I assume will have some space aspects to it, it might show Marvel how a comic based space/sci-fi epic has big potential. Surfer is Marvel's oppotunity at that.

Yeah you're right. I think the space-comic character market needs to be cultivated. DC with Green Lantern and Marvel with Silver Surfer is the perfect start for it

Theres the clincher. Fox CANNOT have this film. Of course they do have it because of FF4, but we can hope. Maybe Aronofsky[sic] can get his hands on it and do the film through Fox Searchlight? Probably not......bummer

Make him far more otherworldly and distant remember he has seen countless galaxys and races Doc Manhattan in Watchmen is how Surfer should have been done imo.

I thought personality wise Surfer was done well in the FF2 movie. The only thing he really lacked was being to hear him spew his philosophical thinking that is the foundation of Zenn-La. Btw I'd rather it be a live action flick they it just gotta be heavy in CGI. The Star Wars franchise has already shown that a film that takes place on extravagant scenes are possible so I don't see a reason you can't do the same.You could get away with the Cree as regular actors.
