Transformers How do you guys feel at this point.......

I feel like I could kill a whale and swallow it whole.

I wasn't terribly impressed with the leaked script, but I like the look of Blackout, Prime, Bumblebee (cept the face), and Jazz quite a bit, and am interesting in seeing how they actually move onscreen..then maybe I'll be pumped a bit.

I actually like some of Bay's stuff, so I have no misgivings about him.

you're banned otherwise

I'm not a member, and if I was I wouldn't last very long over there, so its kind of pointless making an account there.

if its anything like SR... i will blow my head off:yay:

Man, I'd rather it be like Superman Returns than Armageddon... that's for sure.

Well I tried looking for info on the DM boards but frankly it scares me over there. All those "stooges" are blind morons.

<gripe about Don Murphy's lunacy deleted... I don't care to start another converation about it>

I'm still worried when Bay said that he "got the same feeling with Transformers as when he started working on Armageddon."
:wow:

THIS IS NOT GOOD.

No, no it's not.
How that guy has convinced himself that he's a "good" filmmaker is beyond me.

Hey xw2... there might definately be a difference in watching Armageddon when you're 13 vs 23 for the first time. I went in thinking it was a "serious" movie. I mean, I'm all for lighthearted movies like "True Lies"... I love em... but Armageddon?

I'd rather see a movie where I see the filmmakers heart and artistic expression (SR) than a movie that seems to be totally geared purely for mass-appeal (Armg)... like Corporate Rock or something.

For some weird reason I don't much enjoy seeing my city blown up... at least not in the vapid, inane Armageddon-ish way.

maybe I am just out of loop on this one.... but I still don't know what Megatron will trasnform into...can anyone clue me in, or is it still a mystery to everyone else as well?

I can deal with the modern changes, I can deal with the looks of the robots, but I still don't trust this director.

The ONLY movie he made that I liked was The Rock and part of that was aided by Harris and Connery being real actors and Cage providiehng some good fun.

Con air really, is a terrible movie when one looks back, Armegedon is another, he took one of the BEST movie title ever and ruined with a sub par plot and terrible acting.

Pearl Harbor was suposed to be his gem, his shineing acheivement it turned out to be a bit a flop IMO, a CGI laden effects movie with acting that really drops the ball.

And then you had the Island wow talk about overdoing it with explosions and characters that would make alot more sense if they were you know..SUper heroes..with super powers cause no one in thier right mind bought into the idea to basic humans could ever fall off an explodeing building and not get hurt not to mention not get shot amist some of the most ridiculous gun fights sequences ever created.

On the plus sides, Bay isn't recycling as in oh Nick Cage, Duncan and THANK GOD no Ben Afleck.

He transforms into a Cybertronian Jet (as we know so far) however there was something hinted about him taking some kind of earth form, still unconfermed though. He is having a head change so there may be some other changes coming as well.

you should be flattered.......

my city always has gangs and drug dealers in our movies for some reason.

I rewatched the Rock and Armageddon last week. I enjoyed them. I look forward to this film. I know Bay isn't Scorcese, but he's very good at what he does :)

just look at megatron, transformers (or robots) is definitely NOT what he's good at.

I refuse to pout before I've seen it :)

Never had hope. The first words that lead me to this conclusion?

MICHAEL BAY

Good at what he does? Using basic remedial film student loser Hollywood cookie cutter cliches? Yes, you're right!

Numb. That's what happens when you don't really get any new pics/footage.

I have been a fan since I was 3 years old, I am 22 now, and I still love Transformers to death. Since they green lit this project 2 years ago, I was psyched, and after 2 years, seen the trailer, checking out all the Transformer pics, and seeing the cast, I still am. I pity those who say "my child hood is being raped!" that is just sad, it really is, I have seen many threads who bi+ch and moan that "this was not my Optimus Prime as a kid" boo hoo. I am a very open minded person and will judge this movie when I see it. I like Michael Bay, the Island is still one of my fav movies, and this will be a good movie. People can complain all they woant it doesn't matter. It just gets more and more annoying, and shows how sad and childish some people can really be.

For those who say, "Michael Bay deserves to die" "My child hood is being destroyed" "I hate this!" Do me a huge favor, put a plastic bag on your head and leave it there. You are a waste of space and air. I am a big fan of Transformers, but I'm not that pathetic to say that this movie will rape my childhood. This reminds of the Star Wars prequels, just a bunch of over weight and under weight nerds bi+ching all the time.

It's going to be a good movie, and it's fresh and something no one has seen before.

yea, but the thing about star wars, is that the originals kick the living crap out of the new ones, and will probably be the same thing for transformers, but no one will really know that except for the T fans cuz we're some of the only ones familary with the source material, but who knows, the movie could live up to expectations and blow everyone away. we'll have to wait and see.

It's funny... I don't think I've EVER heard a TF fan say "my childhood is being raped." We all just want to see a GOOD movie that isn't Transformers-in-name-only. Anybody can make a "Giant F*ing Robots" movie. But if 20 years from now they make a Pokemon, albeit serious and adultish, movie is it OK if Pikachu is a 10 feet tall pteradactyl? (I ask because my daughter for some inexplicable reason is ALL about Pokemon nowadays... it's an obsession).

This movie being bad isn't about any ONE thing. Prime is a longnose monster truck like the Maximum Overdrive truck? OK... I can live with that. Bumblebee towers over Jazz and is now an uber-fast hotrod? OK. Um, I don't know why they did that, but I can live with it. Megatron is .... OK. Etc etc etc. ALL these things ADD UP!!!

As for Michael Bay... well, his movies are like corporate rock. No one would say it's "bad".... but they're for sure not good. But, I agree with a lot of people here when they've said he's probably a good choice for this movie because eye candy will drive this movie. I just kinda wish sci-fi story rather than eye-candy and cliche, lowest-common-denominator plot devices would drive this story. Transformers could have been a GREAT sci-fi movie in the vein of Terminator, Aliens, etc. But I think we all know that it will just be fun........ fun and ultimately forgetabble.

At this point. I can settle for fun.
