Transformers I have no idea how I feel about this...

Yeah...I'm sure you arent making up that garbage.

I dunno.

When I went to see Pirates yesterday I was rather disappointed at the audience reaction to the teaser (saw it in a packed house, BTW).

Nobody was really paying attention during the Mars landrover bit, then when the title appeared the audience was pretty dead silent and "meh". The only noise you chould hear were a dozen snotty "Pfft!" "Yeah right" "Ha ha ha." "gimme a break" remarks.

The audience I saw Pirates with didn't seem to warm-up to the idea of a live action Transformers movie, much to my dismay.

So anyway, I dunno about that guy, but the audience I was with was either indifferent or whiney.

Those people that sneer at the trailer have lost their innocense and youth, basically. Get over yourself.

I hope the "Get over yourself" wasn't directed at me.

I mumbled "Sweet" when the Autobot symbol showed up at the end.

Transformers isn't about an alien invasion:confused: It's always been that way. The comic and cartoon for example was about a war that had ravaged their home planet so much they needed to invade other planets for fuel sources. While the Autobots are peaceful and the Decepticons are not, they still want the same thing...which is to revive Cybertron. It has never been "there is a secret car war".

I didn't get a secret car war feeling from the trailer, i got exactly what it should be, which is what you described it as.

Nah, just at people in general that think they're suddenly too grown for Transformers. And girls that laugh don't count, as they were never a factor.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed at how snotty the people acted about the whole thing. It was like a chain reaction. One guy says "Laaaame" and then 5 others across the theater make similar noises.

It wasn't as bad as the response I got when the "Seed of Chucky" teaser came on the screen last year (the people were practically throwing their drinks at the screen), but still disappointing.

I'd have figured the prospect of a live-action Transformers movie would excite people...

Well...I'm glad I was in a theater where the reactions were good. I would've yelled "SHUTUP!"...and then my wife would've been upset with me. and then I would've been pulling couch duty cuz we would've gotten into an argument about Transformers...how stupid that would've been.

If it doesn't resemble the original cartoon, then I'm out. I watched Transformers when it first came out, that's the version I remember. I not never got interested in any of the later versions. It seems everytime Hollywood get's a hold of something we love, they destroy everything that we loved about it. Born in '77, I grew up with Transformers and all the rest of the 80's cartoons, those are what I remember, that's what I want.
