I picked Robots inherting the earth,climate change,destroyed by god,climate change,war to end all wars,thinning of the ozone layer,meteroite impact,earth going off its axis and ice age.

The sun as part of it's lifecycle will expand into a red giant in about 5 Billion years. The earth will probably be engulfed at this point, although some scientists believe that the decrease in the sun's gravity will enable the earth to escape. However the earth will be scorched beyond any habitability.

After that the sun will eventually turn into a white dwarf and earth and the other planets orbits will expand further...jetisonning off into space.

I love how 5 billion years from now there will still be telephone poles sticking out of the ground...

All the really rich people will get together, build elaborate fall out shelters, keep the necessary people on earth who can assist in breeding, and certain people with skills that will be necessary for the survival of the species...

And then the rich people will kill us all in a very elaborate thought out plot, killing billions on earth while a small percentage, about 500 people, survive in a fallout shelter in an undisclosed location.

Leaving all of us, this website, and our dreams rendered useless by crazed maniacs with too much money and time on their hands.

Actually according the caption featured with it they are suppose to be the remains of buildings/city structures. The other series of drawings I posted in the links are far better artistic renderings of the future earth.
