I have never thought about this before, but i was just wondering how Cyclops sees? SInce he has to always wear his ruby shades or visor, does that mean he sees everything in red? How exactly does his visor keep him from shooting out beams? Or is there technology or something that still allows him to see all the colors? Maybe it's obvious and I just don't see it but I don't really know much about Cyke so please help me understand this, thanks.

Well the ruby holds back and contains his beams. So he sees everything in red..imagine looking through red sunglasses your entire life

That's' what I was thinking, but it seems like that would be such a hinderance to him, since he is in so many dangerous, fast-paced situations. Imagine running around at night, smoke everywhere, explosions going on, you and your team running around a bunch of rubble, sentinels or other mutants or whatever attacking you from all around. I imagine that would be incredibly difficult with normal vision, I can't even imagine it while seeing everything in red! But maybe he is very used to it...

Well, that aspect maybe overlooked by writers. But perhaps his visors have some special assets that help him out.

Yeah, he sees everything with a red tint. But I'd think by now he's probably so used to it that he hardly notices.

How does he see? I heard somewhere in the back issues that before Jean died, through their link she was able to "help" his vision somehow. Something like she would be able to enhance his vision or something like that, maybe Emma could do the same.

His entire body is immune to his own power. Your entire body includes everything that has your cells in them, including your hair and your eyelids and anything.

you can check out the ultimate guide to x-men book...it actually has his visor blue-print sort of thing...its pretty cool. also, i'm pretty sure he sees everything in red, but jean and emma are both able to project thoughts into his head, letting him (in his mind) see things without his visor and in their natural color

Ruby red quartz defuses the energy. He does see in a red tinge.

Cyclops optic blasts are a form of exotic energy that looks like red beams of light but instead are concussive in nature. I kinda like the way his optic blasts are portrayed in the movies as some sort of overflowing, bursting engergy rather than a ray of light.

It is believed that after quite a while that the brain compensates or grows so accustomed to the tinge that one wouldn't even notice it anymore.
