I myself thought it was pretty well put together.

Same here. Intense, classic and kinda horrific. Great music too.

Perfect and fulfilled it's purpose as efficient backstory.

Kind of pointless.
I've gone into this elsewhere, but I'm not sure why they couldn't just consider this in the same continuity as the last film and just move on. The whole "re-origin" thing was a poor idea as it was handled. Maybe there is more footage in the stuff that was cut which will flesh it out and make it worth it, but we will have to wait for DVD to find out.
Stylistically, I liked the sequence, but as it pertains to the story I didn't.

worked well for me. i enjoyed the music and the editing. wraps things up quickly.

I also found the sequence rather scary and creepy. I liked that it was kinda like a dream/memory/nightmare type of thing. This and the tv series origin mixed in made a perfect outcome :)

Bloody Ross on the floor surprised me. It was like a SAW movie for a second lol.

i really liked the part where banner visits injured betty, then injured ross shoos him away, resulting in an injured(heart) banner.

I likes when he transformed (used a transformation clip from campus scene) and began to destroy the lab injuring the bystanders. Music gave me goosebumps also:cwink:

I couldn't agree more. I thought it was perfect.

It was great...just like in Iron Man. These New Marvel movies are starting to be made for the fans more so the average movie goer who knows nothing about the characters. For 1) they give the back story in a clever way without wasting half of the movie to set it up.
and 2) They don't cause us to say I can't wait for there to be some action.

ya know that's the first thing that popped into my mind when i saw the intro credits. i've seen the campus transformation scene so many times online that it looked very similar if not the same. ill have to check again.

Best part of the movie. The first act of the movie is great, it flows really, really well. When he goes to america though it all starts to fall apart especially with all the lame scenes with Betty.

good decision on Marvel's part

gets the origin and backstory out of the way and wipes the slate clean of the 2003 version

Yeah, it was basically just a big cop-out.

I felt it was kind of cheap. They can waste half an hour on the final battle but they squeeze in the origin in the opening credits. I know the movie is supposed to be action driven and not story driven but still... Twas cheap.

I thought it was good. Not waste a lot of time with the origin and it was a nod to the tv show at the same time. It they had taken the first 30 minutes just to retell, that would have wasted time for the rest of the movie. Good idea.

I felt the opening did an adequate job in establishing the origin, and making it quite clear that the film is essentially a restart with no ties to the Ang Lee film, while at the same time catering to a large number of the general audiences who know of the Bixby/Ferrigno television series (and obviously the memorable opening to that show) best.

Sure, I wouldnt have mind a longer origin sequence, but overall I think what we ultimately recieved got it's point across. Even if it was in a very quick fashion.

If anyone ever read "The Return Of The Monster" hulk comic book a few years ago, this movie reminded me a little of it...:bh:

I thought it was well done and effective in bring the audience up to speed with whats transpired previously.

It also served as a very efficient way to distance the film from Ang's Hulk.
