How I Met Your Mother

This last episode demonstrated that besides being an extremely funny, witty show, HIMYM is also a great drama written show too.

Gotta say its one of my top 5 fav sitcoms of all time.

I'm glad Stella's not the mom either.

I thought they were going to use Lily coming back as a way for Robin to hear the joke and leave. :hehe:

No, next week is the season finale, they want to have the whole cast for that episode. After all, it's Ted's 31st birthday party and we still have to hear the story of the goat.

One thing I didn't notice till just now, how/why was Barney driving so much in this episode. They had an entire episode dedicated to him not being able to drive. Seems like a pretty big screwup on the writers part, especially considering how many long running jokes they have in the show, ie Ted's ring being Robin Sparkles "Let's go to the Mall"

There is a thread about this very complaint on imdb:

On the plus side, I think it's cool that they are doing 24 episodes this year to compensate for the fact that we only got 20 last year. :ip:

last night's episode was great. I laughed so much at the "murder room" or whatever it was. I really like Jason Jones as Tony. I hope they he and Sarah Chalke come back next season.

I liked the scene of Ted, Marshall and Robin yelling about the murder room.

"You're not making a muder room!" "I'm not making a murder room!"

From Entertainment Weekly:

Question: The slap bet between Barney and Marshall is one of my favorite storylines on HIMYM. Any chance they will hit us up in the finale? --Sarah
Ausiello: There will be lots of smacking, but not between those two. In (possibly) related news ...

Question: Are we going to see that freaking goat next week on How I Met Your Mother? --John
Ausiello: Yes! "We're going to learn all about the goat in the season finale," confirms Neil Patrick Harris. "I can't wait to hear the audience reaction. My only concern is a PETA backlash ... [But] no goats were harmed in the making of this TV show." Ted on the other hand ...

Question: I hear something big will happen Monday on How I Met Your Mother with regard to the identity of the mother. Will we finally find out who she is? --Stephen
Ausiello: We won't find out who she is, but we will find out where she is.

Also from EW, but possibly a spoiler:

Question: Will diehard Barney-Robin fans be satisfied with the How I Met Your Mother finale? --Andree
Ausiello: They'll be ecstatic... hey, you tricked me! No fair!

As much as I love the show, that was definitely the weakest season of the four. I think the pregnancies didn't help, but something was just missing this season.
Hopefully, the show will rebound next season -- and give Ted more to do.

well we just got one step closer to the mother. now we know she's a college student taking ted's class. decent finale. would've been funny if the goat took the "leap" too. /shrug

the finale was okay but I think there have been regular episodes this season that have been funnier. By the rate they are going, maybe we will get to meet the mother by next season finale. I'm sure it will take a season just to see her.

Aww, Now he's Ted Mosby, Professor.
Doesn't have the same ring to it.

It was a good finale. Was it the funniest episode this year? No, but it pushed the story along very nicely and setup for a great season next year. Can't wait.

So now we have a will they or wont they thing with Robin and Barney. Lets hope it goes they way of Niles and Daphne and not like every other will they or wont they sub plot. At least they got the fact that neither are the main character going for them.

How I met your mother has some of the lamest stories I've ever seen on TV :( "Marshall wants to jump off his building", "ted designs building but goat thwarts him"... But alas its a very funny show, why can't the writers stop being so lazy :(

I like the will they/won't they plot with Robin and Barney because it's basically in character. Both characters are commitment phobes, if they do they'd have to ease into things a little.

I think the lame stories work though, mainly because it's a show about a group of friends trying their hardest to keep from growing up too much. So many episodes could be parts of my life, albeit not quite as over the top sitcomy.

^you mean Robin and Barney? Ted is not a commitment phobe at all. He loves it. lol

And to the point of having the trademark move, "The Mosby." God, I wish I were single so I could use that on a bad first date.

I honestly liked this show better when you thought Robin might be the "mother." it's still humorous but knowing it wont be her sort of takes away from the "big picture" aspect for me.

I think we knew since the first episode that Robin wasn't the mother. I think he referred to her as Aunt Robin to the kids.

Yep, they established in the pilot that Robin is not the mother.

Oops, fixed. Did like that they called that move "The Mosby"

So you liked this show better for the 1st 21 minutes it was on air?
