dont go out of your way to see it at imax. like some ppl are driving like a couple of hrs to see it in imax, dont!

its worth the drive. It was even more spectacular in IMAX 3D

to the first guy who replied, why shouldnt i go? what is your reason? and the the peopel who like it, is the picture more clear and the picture isnt off is it?

i saw Spider-Man 2 in IMAX and i think seeing a movie in IMAX beats the **** out of seeing it in a regular theater. the screen takes up almost your whole eyesight. imagine holding a sheet of paper at arms length (regular theater) then imagine holding a sheet of paper a few inches away from your face (IMAX). and yes...the picture is clear. i was able to see the pores on Tobey Maguire's nose! hehe

if there weren't an IMAX around my town, i'd be more than willing to drive 2 hours to see Superman Returns on IMAX.

clearer picture, definitly. The 3d glasses put you in the scene. Its a spectacular way to view it.

i thank you so much for your replies. here is wisconsin its only playing in two IMAX theaters TOTAL! in the entire state

and which scenes are in 3D so i have time to get ready and what is the little cue that tells you to put your glasses on?

Basically a small midget jumps out of the screen and punches you in the face, that is the que. Ok well no, but i don't know, from what i've read singer says "everytime clark takes off his glasses, you put on yours" and also a small green pair of glasses at the top of the screen will flash signifying to put them on. I too have only 2 IMAX theaters in my state, however one has just closed down for rennovations so i only have one which is 2 hours away, its honestly easier for me to travel to manhattan (20 minutes sans traffic) which is what i'm going to do on thursday when my whole family is off, can't wait.

people that have seen the 3D can you please tell which scenes are in 3D:up:

it was GREAT

i'm planning to see it again, and i chose to see it the IMAX way :D

IMAX only started showing the movie today (not last night) so you'll have to wait a little bit before the people who see it in 3d come to post on the forums. i know for a fact that the plane scene is 3d. i'm willing to guess that some of the scenes that include NK are 3d as well...

1.) Memories= Kal-El remembering the days of his youth. young Clark running/ flying through the cornfields.

2.) Superman saves the Plane= you know this, its in the trailers

3.) The Ship breaks= the scene where NK was emerging from the depths of the ocean and a part of it pierces through the ship. Richard, Jason and Lois are trapped onboard

4.) The Finale/ Flyby= essentially the ending. Singer's version of the memorable Chris Reeve sign off.

those scenes seem like a waste of time? why would i want to watch young clark running through corn in 3D? wow i cant believe i wasted my advanced ticket money on this crap

well you did ask. all i did was provide the answers.

if you think its a waste of money sell it to someone else willing to watch it instead.

steelsheen, you saw it in 3d right? how clear was the picture for the 3d scenes?

if you've never been to an imax movie than i would think u may think it would be a waste of money but its an experience like non other and i don't care if clark is picking his nose in 3D its still in 3D on an 8 story tall screen...

hmm... not quite sure by what you meant by clear. if you mean when you wear the 3D glasses on it was pretty good (clear). there were times where i thought there was this glitch on one part of the sceen but that may be just me since i wear prescription glasses.

if you mean clear without having to wear 3D glasses (because i heard some people gets dizzy) the film really starts to look hazy -- like if you have double vision (or if you're drunk :D). i took the 3D glasses off for a few seconds at times to compare what it would be like not having to wear them.

i gotta catch some Zs, i havent slept yet :O. see y'all later (or tomorow, depends on when i wake up :p)

yeah that's what i meant...i was talking about WHILE you're wearing the glasses on the 3d parts, hehe. i just don't want to have the same red/blue effect. i always had a hard to seeing 3 dimensions with those glasses. thanx dude.

I have seen the movie in 3D and it was brilliant!!!!!!!

The scenes are as follows:
the first scene is clark on the farm. 2nd is the plane rescue. 3rd is when nk is growing out of the ocean. and the last scene is well, I will just let you see the last one.

I'm heading off soon to the local IMAX to see the new film in IMAX 3D, and I'm just wondering, is there a special signal that will tell when to put on the glasses, such as a Superman logo in the corner or something, or should I look like a greek (which I already am with the Superman shirt) and wear the glasses through the entire film so I don't miss anything. If any one who's seen it could tell, it would be appreciate, and please asap, since I'm leaving in about an hour or so to catch the first screening of the day.

"After viewing both the standard screen and IMAX 3-D versions of "Superman Returns," I heartily recommend a first-time viewing at your local neighborhood multiplex. The IMAX presentation is an expectedly robust, slap-yo-momma, monster screen experience that brings incredible depth to certain scenes and locations. But only 20 minutes of the film have been converted to 3-D, and after an appealing start, the selections tend to get annoyingly random. It's also a bit of a frustration to hurriedly put on your glasses during critical, dramatically taut sequences that deserve undivided attention. The IMAX 3-D experience certainly delivers on spectacle, but save it for a more forgiving second viewing."
