Depends on how successful Dawn Of Justice & Justice League are. If they successful we could see him play the character quite a few more times in a solo outing (at least 2 more). And just the opposite if they aren't succesful....will never see him as Supes again lol (I hope not)
He'll play him for as long as WB will want him. He strikes me as the kind of guy who loves the character. and it's not like he's gotten offer left and right to play other roles either.
I hope he does at least two more films to round out a solo Superman trilogy. But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he stays on for a while after his initial contract expires.
I'm guessing that every movie after BVS will be either a JL movie with the big bads of the DCU or a team up film like Flash/GL. Although I would like to see Supes take on Brainiac alone, we all know that it will make more sense to have the entire JL led by Supes against him.
The only solo films I'm betting on are WW and Aquaman since they have their own worlds to cover.
EDIT: And IMO Cavill can play Supes as long as he likes!
The Supergirl series may cover a lot of the same ground that a solo Superman series would. I think it'd be smart for WB to allow CBS to use big Superman villains on Supergirl.
as for a solo Superman movie with Brainiac, it does make more sense for him to fight Brainiac with the League, but the story can still be Superman centric.
By the time we'd even get to another Superman film, Supergirl would have already been canceled or covered whatever villain they'd want to use in the film and people wouldve forgotten so they shouldn't hold to much back.
Guess it depends on how successful BvS and JL are. Cavill had an admirable start. Didn't MOS make more than the first Iron Man? And even as iconic as SM is, the character was coming off a terrible film (Superman Returns) and was somewhat irrelevant. Actually, MOS made me a SM fan again. With apologies to Reeve, Cavill is my all-time fav Kal-el. Honestly I'll be disappointed if there's not more Cavill-led SM solos.
