For those of you who have seen BvS, does it "redeem" MoS? Does it negate many of the criticisms of MoS? For those of you that hated MoS: do you think BvS can make MoS better by directly addressing some of your criticisms, e.g. destruction of Metropolis?

I read a rumor that in BvS, Superman flies around saving as many people as possible in the aftermath of the immediate destruction from MoS (even though thousands still still died).

Dude, there are people desperately trying to avoid spoilers until release and/or they can make it to see the film please note in the title of the thread that spoilers are contained herein, or something to that effect. Thanks

Sorry, good point. How do I edit the title of this thread or simply delete it? It doesn't appear I can...

MoS could barely be any better, but I do think more people will realise how f***** great it is.
I'll still get on every forum and youtube channel and fight the goof fight about MoS until I'm old, grey, and saggy balled.

Well, Chris terrio has said that he regards MoS, BvS, and JL Part 1 as a trilogy that comprise a saga. Themes that were begun in MoS will continue to get developed in BvS, and will continue probably to do so in JL 1. Some of those themes didn't make a lot of sense to viewers when MoS was first released.

So, yeah. Just as MoS gets better for many of us with each viewing, I really do think the viewing experience of MoS will get even better in connection with BvS and JL 1.

Individual movies should be able to stand on their own. That doesn't mean they can't fit into a series and continue themes, but they should also have their own thoroughly told story. IMO, if a film needs another film to make it "good," then it probably has some writing flaws. It's not BvS's job to make the audience think MOS was a good movie. That was MOS's job.

Having said that, as the next movie in this series started by MOS, BvS should work with what transpired in that film and weave it into its own story. That's what I hope to see: a solid film that continues themes started in MOS. I don't expect BvS or anything else to make MOS better. MOS is what it is.

There's a window for the title of the thread in the original post. It may be that once you create a thread there is no way to edit the title unless you have moderator privileges.

It was just in the lead post you mentioned a rumor that, if it turns out to be true, would be a spoiler (I only glanced at it, didn't get it in full). Maybe just wrap that in a spoiler tag or something.

Will BvS make it better? No. Will BvS make people watch it again and some of them will realize it's not as bad as they remember? Yes.

Maybe a better way to frame question is: will the viewing experience of MoS be enhanced after watching BvS? Or by watching them together back-to-back?

Yes, I expect it will.

Depends on the criticism.

The chosen one paradigm isn't always contained to an opening chapter(see starwars/potter). See jor el's prophesy and the sheer amount of crit it gets for supposedly not following through inside of run time.
Goes for the other father's sentiments as well though I could be convinced a bit on this.
Depends on the criticism.

This could be the best CBM of all time and still not make MOS a better movie, but it definitely could make up for it. I really need to see Watchmen, because I've hated every Snyder movie I've ever seen.

That's a shame. That's like hating a*** sex. Don't be afraid to go there. Once you do you'll ever go back.

Here comes my ban....

I believe it will. People will want to get their DCEU fix and Man of Steel readily available.

They will watch it with a different view of things.

When I first watched Batman Begins I didnt like it. Got an understanding of what the film was doing...fell in love with it in the second viewing.

If the film capitalizes on Superman than Man of Steel will get a boost.
