The Dark Knight How many people are still confused?

I am not sure what's to be confused about. Batman Begins came out, and the Dark Knight is a sequel to Begins.

Do most people in the general public even know that this movie is being made? They probably won't find out till they see the trailer.

This is true. Like I said, with BB, most everyone in my school didn't even know the movie was coming out until it was in theaters.

I would say nobody knows, but I think at this point they will only look as DK as a sequel to Begins and the Burton movies have nothing to do with it. Just an opinion from a guy with glowing eyes.

Well I know a woman who thought Casino Royale sucked because "bond has a laptop even though the movie takes place in the 60s". There is no end to stupid people, it's best to just ignore them and enjoy the movie/franchise by yourself.
Funny you mentioned that but when I was 13 and Batman(1989) had come out I at first thought it took place in the 40's because of the cars and the clothes.

But later when Joker looks at Vicki's portfolio you see him flip through womans clothes of the 80's I knew then that Burton mixed a little bit of everything into the film.

If they get confused it may affect their judgement of the movie. I remember some people complaining cause Superman Returns was a sequel. One of my friends said, "Did Singer expect me to remember what happened in a movie released 30 yrs ago?"
For example Psycho and Psycho 2 were released 23 years apart and no one seemed to complain.
But then again a story of a sick man dressing up as his mother ain't that complicated.

WHHHHHHHAT?

Why the hell would any one think that? The book mabye?

Bruce Wayne's modern cameras and colored TV didn't give that away?

Everyone complained about Psycho 2 cause it was an unneccesary movie.

Actually, should we really care? Just watch the movie, if the public loves they love it and if they hate it they hate it.

even if htey would knwo that BB was coming out. everyone would forget it after 2 hours. rememeber guys, that was the time of B&R.

You're right Catman a lot of people do still think that BB is a prequel. But i won't put the full blame on WB for that. Since it was made abundantly clear by all involved that this had nothing to do with the Burton/Schumacher franchise.

I know SuperHeroHype.com is its own little world. So, I need you to look outside your computer and tell me how many people are still confused about this franchise. Do you know anybody who still thinks that Batman Begins is a prequel? I do. :csad:

I have a feeling that once the trailer for Dark Knight is released people who are still lost will start to understand that this has nothing to do with the other films.

For now, however, we still have confusion out there. I blame WB. They should have done a better job back in 2005. WB didn't really explain that it was a restart. Heck, many media outlets were calling it a prequel!

i still meet a lot of people who thinks this will eventually tie up with the Burton movies. as far as their concerened this is about how Batman started his career. the funny thing about is that their holding Burton's films as the standard (mostly because it came out first), so details like Joe Chill and they find to be confusing because it goes against Burton's established facts.

hopefully by TDK its gonna clear things up how this is a reboot and is not associated with Burton in any shape or form)

I blame WB because they should have advertised it as a restart. Instead they were just like, "hey check out the new Batman movie."

You know how trailers back in the `30s, 40s, and `50s had someone explain the movie to you? Some movies need that. :o

They're both very keen detectives, Batman would be proud.

It still would've had to be subtle as to not sound completely ******ed.

Something like "A daring re-imagining of the Dark Knight, from the visionary director of Memento."

"....with CGI villains by Mr. Thau"

In any case like that poltergeist dude said once TDK is released when people see the cast they'll know that it's a sequel to BB anyway so by now it's kind of irrelevant.

ROFLMAO.

Good for you.
You inspired my new avatar too btw.
I like my Milo, but I had him for so long.

But yeah on-topic, majority of my friends think that Begins is related to Burton films but not the Schumacher ones. They need more explanation obviously.

You posted this later.

I agree. There will always be confusion. We have it better than SR, in my opinion.

I tried explaining SR to a fellow comic fan(marvel), and he was drunk for a week.

I'm of the opinion that if you don't get that this franchise is a restart, you're entitled to ask the question. If you have it explained to you, and still question it, then you're just a moron.

Enough with the homophobia....grow up children. The gay talk is not needed....the crude jokes are not needed.

well said

Surprisingly enough most people I know seem to understand that it is a remake, and that BB and TDK have nothing to do with The other four Batman movies. I think just watching the first one is clear enough.

I don't think there will be that much confusion.
