I know SuperHeroHype.com is its own little world. So, I need you to look outside your computer and tell me how many people are still confused about this franchise. Do you know anybody who still thinks that Batman Begins is a prequel? I do. :csad:

I have a feeling that once the trailer for Dark Knight is released people who are still lost will start to understand that this has nothing to do with the other films.

For now, however, we still have confusion out there. I blame WB. They should have done a better job back in 2005. WB didn't really explain that it was a restart. Heck, many media outlets were calling it a prequel!

I guess you´re right, people will start "getting it" this time around, and that´s just fine, really, it became a popular franchise again with begins and it won´t decrease this time around.

If they don't I think we should have the right to smack them across the head. I'll accept people thinking it's a retcon but if they're lost they give me no choice.

Hmm. Some people... I knew somebody who thought the movie 'Street Fighter' was hard to follow. Go figure.

I don't even know what to say. I saw it once in `94 when it was released. I honestly don't even remember 99% of it.

What I remember is: Jean-Claude van Damme. That should say enough.
Good vs Bad. That's it story-wise. Horrible acting. Horrible movie. (IMHO):woot:

All I remember is the fight between Van Damme and Raul Julia at the end.

I can see this spun-off of the Joker identity thread. To quote myself:

God, I know. I can't even count the number of people who I've heard say "Oh, so they're remaking all of them, then?"

SLAP!

Right. I checked IMDb. He played General M. Bison. I remember him flying through the air. Kylie Minogue was in it too (acting).

Well I know a woman who thought Casino Royale sucked because "bond has a laptop even though the movie takes place in the 60s". There is no end to stupid people, it's best to just ignore them and enjoy the movie/franchise by yourself.

I remember him flying through the air.

Thats what I remember as well.

Kylie Minogue was in it too (acting).

That is something I don't remember! :csad: I need to re-watch this movie. I've seen Mortal Kombat like 10-15 times :-)o ) but I only saw Street Fighter once.

Most people think TDK is a remake of Batman '89. I can live with people thinking that because at least it shows the films aren't connected continuity wise to the old ones.

Most people think TDK is a remake of Batman '89.

Are these the same people who thought Begins was a prequel? I can accept people thinking its a retcon but anything else deserves a slap acorss the face.

I was actually asked if TDK is pickign up where Begins left off or if this is just redoing 89. Yes, there is still confusion in some of the general public, and I also blame WB for not promoting Begins as well as they could/should have.

I still wish they called Batman Begins simply "Batman". That would've solved a whole mess of confusion. I mean the word "Begins" implies that it's a prequel, so you can kinda see how some people, if they dont remember B'89 all that well, might be confused.

This movie should clear up all confusion though. If they want to think of it as a redo of B'89... let 'em. Cuz in a way, it is. Same basic plot as B'89, remade to fit after Begins.

Yeah, f**king Australians. :oldrazz:

Like I said, I have no problem with peeps thinking it's a remake.

You want to see confusion, there will be plenty when the next Hulk movie comes out.

There's more:

1) some still think that the guy with the grumpy mask isn't Heath/Joker
2) some are still whining over CR, if you don't like the movie now you'll never will and that's not a problem, but do you have to make 1000 threads with useless points?
3) someone said about the passion of the Christ: "waiste of time, he dies in the end"

True. SR was a fiasco in this regard, no one, including the director himself, could figure out the continuity of the film. Superman: The Movie, in its entirety factored in but only parts of Superman 2? You needed a degree in rocket science to figure it out. At least Nolan and Co. knew from the beginning what they were doing and where this movie stood in relation to the other movies. And that was, that there was no relation.

Sure, there are some people confused, but TDK should clear that up. The one comment that I heard though in regards to BB, that bothered me, "I thought the Joker killed his parents." :cmad:

it wasn't until this first post that i could see batman begins being a pre-quel to the original set of films....

i think most people know it's a reboot.

yes, dear flawlessvictory, i agree! The Superman Returns continutity no very clear at all. Mr Singer has disregard the fact that in Superman 3, the mother Clark Knet has died ... but she alive in Superman Returns??? Also SR is continue the Lois Pregnant them from Superman 2. But which version? Because in Mr Thau version, the Lois has impreganted by Superman before he lose his powers --- the Richard Lester version, they have intercoursal only after he is humanised by red sun rays in chamber.

sorry friends but i disagree. I was confused for this until yesterday :o
Because marketing media for Batman Begins is appearing like a prequel to Batman Burton's films ... so we can't be sure is prequel or not. sorry for the confusing. Mr Nolan if you read this please, create more strong message for sequel. so that we fans know sure this not prequel! many many people think it is prequel, so Mr Nolan must clarify.

In any case mr flawlessvictory are you fan for the Mortal Kombat games? I recognise flawless victory! what wonderful games, especially the CGI characters

As far as I know, Superman 3 and 4 are not factored in at all. The first Superman is and some of the ideas of Superman 2(Superman and Lois sleeping together, Lex visiting the FOS but not necessarily how we saw those events in Superman 2 hence Singer's term, "vague history"). Yea, I know, it's confusing.

I can see how some people were thrown off but there shouldn't be any problem once people start watching TDK.

I'm a big fan of the earlier games, basically anything up to and including MK Trilogy. Now the games are just too confusing for me. There's like 10,000 moves for each character, I can't keep up with it, LOL.
