How many people want to bet Wolverine will be in the Avengers movie?

I'd like Marvel to make an animated feature with Capt. America, Wolverine, Black Widow, Ms. Marvel, Shadowcat, and the Thing. They'd all join together to free Nick Fury from a hidden HYDRA base.

I wont make that bet. It would be overkill on the part of the franchise to add all current members and such. Wolvy will be ok by himself and the rest of the x-men. Spidey should hang with MJ and call it a day also....or take MJ to see the movie. We all know that they are big cash cows but let the story rotate around those that it pertains to. focus on the core members and let the movie goers and fan enjoy it that way....just my P.O.

^You are very wise "grass-hopper" even with only 10 posts, many would be wise to listen to you. :)

That reminds me about a joke; Confussus say, "man who fart in church, must sit in own pew."

I agree M-man74 let Spidey and Logan sit this one out. I want Pym & Jan

I think theres also the fact that, you know, Marvel can't put those guys in an Avengers movie until the movie rights have lapsed with Fox and Sony, which is not looking like that's gonna happen any time soon.

Hugh Jackman wants Wolverine to appear in The Avengers
By David Bentley

ACTOR Hugh Jackman has said he would be interested in his Wolverine character appearing in the upcoming Avengers team-up movie.
It's not such a crazy idea as it might sound. Wolverine has become a member of two comicbook versions of Marvel's Avengers team.

The line-up of the Avengers has changed many times over the years and there are several versions of the team. The original team, in 1963, comprised Thor, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Wasp and Hulk, with Captain America joining a year later.
wolvaveng3.jpg
Wolverine joined Marvel's New Avengers variant in issue 6 in June 2005, to fight alongside that team's founding members Iron Man, Captain America, Luke Cage, Spider-Man and Spider-Woman (see image on right).
He is also a member of the alternative-universe Avengers team in the Marvel Adventures series, launched in July 2006, where he features alongside Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Spider-Man, Giant Girl and fellow X-Men member Storm, who also joined this version of Avengers (see main picture at top).
When Jackman was asked by MTV News if he could envisage a Wolverine cameo in the Avengers, he responded: "Any movie with Robert Downey Jr I want to be in. I'm open to it. I love playing this guy."
He added: "The great thing about Wolverine is he's still a fun character. He's a tortured soul but he's always got a quip. He's always got a line. He's like Dirty Harry and Mad Max. These aren't nice guys but they get the job done. He marches to the beat of his own drummer. That's why I love playing him."
The idea of a Wolverine cameo in the Avengers movie is interesting, but could be problematic, if not impossible.
When Marvel went bankrupt in 1996, it climbed out of the abyss by selling off the film rights to several of its characters. The rights to X-Men, Fantastic Four and Daredevil went to 20th Century Fox; Sony's Columbia Pictures snapped up Spider-Man and Ghost Rider; and Universal bought the screen rights for Hulk and Namor the Submariner.
Although all these are Marvel comicbook characters, the fact that different studios own the movie rights makes crossovers less likely.
Marvel is now making its own movies - it started the ball rolling with Iron Man in May and then, having clawed back the rights to Hulk following Ang Lee's underachieving version, it released The Incredible Hulk in June this year.
xff1.jpg
It's planning an Iron Man sequel, a Thor movie, an Ant-Man movie, a Captain America film and then will bring them together in an Avengers team-up adventure. The film rights to all those characters are owned by Marvel so it can create a 'unified movie-verse' in which all those beings co-exist.
We've already seen Iron Man's public alter-ego Tony Stark mention Avengers in a brief cameo at the end of The Incredible Hulk, which also made a reference to Captain America.
But including characters whose film rights are with other studios is much more tricky.
Sony's Columbia Pictures already said 'no' when director Louis Leterrier wanted a cool Spider-Man nod in his movie The Incredible Hulk. He first wanted Tobey Maguire to appear in a brief shot as Peter Parker in the scenes at a university where Bruce Banner meets scientist Samuel Sterns and, when that was refused, he asked as a compromise if he could at least use the name Empire University, the fictional institution where Parker is studying. Sony refused that as well.
Leterrier said: "The university at the end [where Banner meets with Samuel Sterns] is Columbia University. Columbia University in the Marvel world, especially in the Spider-Man world, is Empire State University. I wanted some kind of shot where you're like, 'Oh my god. Is that Peter Parker?' That would have been fun!"
"Then I just wanted to call it Empire University - to treat it like a coherent world. And Sony, who has the rights to Spidey, didn't want us to do that. It was a small thing but something we couldn't do."
He added: "Marvel is pretty good at doing their own movies and so eventually the studios will allow them to chaperone the production of [all of them]," he said. "Years from now you'll see Peter Parker meeting Bruce Banner."

It's not going to happen anytime soon. The rights belong to FOX. Marvel can't put him in the Avengers.

Did you even read the (2 year old) article you posted?

Did you even read the (2 year old) article you posted?

Ok, but look at what has happened in those intervening two years. Disney has bought Marvel and Fox will be a little worried that they will be aggresively pursuing any legal chance they have of getting back their characters, they apparently want them all back under the Marvel stable by 2017 or something(sureI read that somewhere).

So, at least from reading this article we know that Jackman would be up for doing Wolverine guest spots in other Marvel franchises.

Now, imagine Fox being scared of teh Disney lawyers, and wanting to be more co-operative with Marvel at sharing the characters than Sony was(they kb'd Parker cameo before the Disney takeover).

So, we could have an exchange of sorts for cameo appearances.
I wouldn't want Wolverine/Jackman in full member of the Avengers mode, just a cameo, that seems more plausible too. So, they could have some shaky camera footage of the Hulk that the Avengers are watching, with an 'unknown mutant' fighting him, and we see Jackman going at it with the Hulk from some old Canadian news report, a kind of homage to his first appearance in Hulk 180/181.

and in return, Marvel could, with the actor's permission of course, exchange favours by granting Fox a Tony Stark cameo in a new FF movie, talking with Reed Richards on the phone about some new gadget or widget problem/solution.

It could be done.

IESB.net is reporting that the House of Mouse may be squeaking through loopholes in Marvel Comic's contracts with other studios.
When Disney announced their intent to purchase the super hero juggernaut for approximately $5 billion last fall, they assured everyone that the deals Marvel had set up with other film studios to distribute films based on their characters would remain in place. Now it looks as if Disney's grown impatient and is looking to take back what is now their property.
Fox holds the film rights to much of the Marvel universe, including the X-Men, Deadpool, super hero lovers Daredevil and Elektra, and the Fantastic Four, while Sony still maintains the rights to Spider-Man. While the contracts with those studios remain airtight, the one Marvel has with Paramount Pictures may provide Disney with the means to their end.
While details of this loophole haven't been revealed, Disney's lawyers are allegedly already hinting that 3 will be a Disney production, with Captain America and The Avengers also prone to being distributed under the Disney name.
Disney may also choose to with Paramount or buy them out of their contract for the estimated sum of what the future films may make. Whatever happens, it seems as though the House of Mouse is quite eager to make back the loads of money it's spending on Marvel Entertainment. Remember, there's still the issue of theme park they need to settle, too!

NOW WHAT!!!!!
You will all bow to me and acknowledge I was right!!!!!!!!!

You're not right. Because I've already seen that article and it mentions they are highly unlikely to get the properties from Fox back anytime soon. And Wolverine is at Fox.

Seriously, if there is any company in the world who would not buckle at pressure from Disney it is Fox.

I Don't know what's wrong with you guys instead of joining me in this belief so that we can rescue our heros from these yucky studio companies you come against me.

But now tel me this if and when it happens will you all be man enough to admit I was right and apologize to me.
I mean if your so sure why not right???
C'mon how sure are you guys let's put it in writing right here and right now!!!!!!!

And if I am wrong I will publicaly admit that I am insane and apologize to you guys c'mon how bout it??????
C'mon who's in just I'm in for me or against me.(david Icke I hope your with me)
Let's take that POLL!!!!!!!!!
If not then Back up sit down and be quiet!!!!
C'mpn who's got heart!!!!!!!!!!!

I Thus present this challenge Mortals!!!!!

For I am Merciful and when it happens I shall forgive you all.

Because people are "coming against you" with reality.

Fox will fight this like Black Lantern fights fun.

I guarantee you Disney/Marvel won't have their properties back from Fox by the time Avengers is made.

If I'm wrong I'll hold my hands up. But I won't be wrong.

Ok, but they may see the business sense in an mutally beneficial exchange of favours. Having a Tony Stark/Iron-Man cameo in a re-booted FF movie could do it's image a lot of good, especially considering that the FF franchise never quite caught on.

Put up or shut up!!!
Are you in???
For me or against me!!
Just say for or against!!!!!
So I can make my list of all those who will be apologizing!!!!
FOR or Against!!!!

Best possible case for Marvel (and its a long shot...) would be if it went down the same way as Watchmen did and they had to fork over a ****-ton of dosh to release it after Fox cynically ignored all releases that they'd been shooting scenes for it and then looked to cash in on the other studios work.

And that is a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG god damn shot.

Hmarrs, your enthusiasm cannot be quelled, it's a heartening attitude to see.
and as I said in my last post, it may not all be about getting the rights back, the other studios may see there is a mutally beneficial thing here with exchanging cameo favours.
If Marvel show that the shared universe is big business, they could want a piece of that pie.
