"Unreciprocated" means the other person didn't love you back. "Reciprocated" means they DID love you back.

Vote for whatever applies to you. For example: vote for both "twice unreciprocated" and "once reciprocated".

And only real love counts. No infatuations or crushes.

Honestly...I doubt I've ever been in love. I used to think so but as I reflect I realize that I haven't.

I've only ever been in love once. Sadly, I thought it was reciprocated, and believed that for a little over four years. I've recenly discovered that it never was and never will be. I was used as a pawn in a cruel game.

i dont think i've ever been in love either. i think i was in love with the him i thought he could be.

but to save all the gushy details, he didn't want to grow up so i left. saw him a few yrs later and he hadn't changed, actually got worse, had been kicked out of school, arrested a couple times, drank constantly and wasnt trying to do anything with his life.

so yeah, i used to think i was in love, but now i don't think i was.

sorry to hear that.

we always seem to be the pawn, never the queens.

Hard to say. I'm pretty bad with infatuation, but I think I've only been really, truly in love once, which is now. Hence the engagement.

I was in love once... now I'm all numb inside. It's not a great way to go about, you know.

Twice, reciprocated.

First off with a girlfriend from school who I almost did die for- I punched out her stepfather and just about survived the consequences.
Second, the wife I'm with at the moment. I still love my first girlfriend, but there had been so much trouble in trying to be together that it just didn't work out. We don't talk, because it hurts too much.

Once reciprocated, and what a time it was...but long distance blows.

Once unreciprocated, and what a time that was, althought most of it sucked balls, but it's all good now. The sex was great. :woot:

I have never been a fan of the whole "hindsight is 20/20" because you aren't looking back with 20/20 vision, you are looking back with wiser eyes or jaded glasses. (I think that's enough with the vision metaphors.)

But to answer the question of the thread, I had a few unrequited loves and I have been in love a few times as well that was mutual.

who the hell managed three unreciprocated loves?

surely after the second time, you'd be more careful BUT THREE!!!!

I've only been IN love once. I've thought I loved people before, but I wasn't "in love" with them.

That about sums it up for me as well. Though I will say that ALL of the other relationships where I have felt love to some degree, reciprocated or not, pale in comparison to the love that I share with my wife, and that's including the relationship I had with my first real love that I was engaged to in college. When REAL love gets ahold of you, you'll definitely see how everything before it just doesn't compare.

Tell me about it! Discovering the truth about that one was without a doubt the hardest thing I've ever had to face. He still claims to love me, but when I think about all the things he's done to me, you just COULDN'T love someone and do what he did to me. It's not possible.
