If the marketing picks up in the next 45 days, I'd go with $76-85 million.

I'm going to split the difference between 300 and V for Vendetta, $50 million.

Around $50 Million. It's not Batman, but I've had alot of non-geek people ask me if I'm interested in it or heard about it (along with "Is it the best Graphic Novel ever made"), so someone is doing their job at WB marketing.

I'm thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of $55-$65 million.

Around $60 million.

Vendetta did mid 20s, but Watchmen has way more hype and 300 somehow had a $70 mill opening.

Maybe around 300's $70 million. Maybe a little less.

I'm reaching for the skies on this
90 mill is what im saying...("your crazy"...."no, im not....im Not")

you know....i really have no idea on this one. i could really see it go either way. i can see people being really intrigued by what they see in the marketing, so they go see the movie. but i can also see them being so confused that they're turned off by seeing the film.

I agree, although I'm leaning a bit more on the low side. I don't think it'll open all that big, I don't even think it'll be close to what 300 did. That being said, if Snyder handled this right, I think it'll have tremendous legs and have strong staying power, which I feel is way more important than a big opening anyway. If the movie has even a fraction of the book's density, it will demand repeat viewings, especially for those unfamiliar

It's very hard to tell and I think it may be something of a regional thing. The Dark Knight had great appeal for people who have read the comics, and also for those who have not. But I don't really see many people who have no prior knowledge of Watchmen going out of their way to go see it. I only know like 2 other people who have even heard of it before around where I live. People may go initially to see what it's all about, but I don't see the vast majority of them going back for multiple viewings. At least not around here...but hopefully it will have a big weekend! It deserves it!

I am hoping it doesn't make TOO much because of the Fox percentage... plus it's not like we need more sequels/spinoffs. I'd say 60/150 total. If the reviews are exceptional I could see 80/200.

this is a movie that could really go both ways or somewhere in the middle. It could end up making a pretty low amount and become a cult hit or sell better on DVD since its a hard movie to market anyways, or it could blow up like dark knight (which I wasn't expecting)

it will make alot, i looked at the highest opening for a R rated movie and its The Matrix Reloaded with $91,774,413
it will definitely beat that

About $70 mill I reckon. Which is a respectable amount for a less well know comic adaptation.

I'm really not sure. I'm not very good at this. Especially since last year, where all my "predictions" were wrong. Well, kinda. Anyways. Probably around $60-70 million opening weekend. Hopefully!
