How much screen time should the Hulk get?

Hmm... depends on how long the movie is, but 45-50 minutes should be enough.

I guess it will all go down to the FX budget...

the more Hulk, the more expensive the film....

I doubt get half the movie (or more) being with onscreen FX,
as they have to include the Abomination as well....

Basically i just don't know :woot:

The Hulk should only be shown when needed, I don't want the film to turn into the Lee version where he was the Hulk every five minutes of the entire film.

Huh, i don't get what you're saying??

Senseless action. Most films, including the new arrival Transformers, have depended on action to tell the story. I want the Hulk to appear only where it's needed, not to completely overtake the story because the producers need an action extravaganza on page fifty-eight.

Ok, that's what i tought about senseless action, but you are saying that Hulk was showing too much in Ang Lee's film???
from that I understand that Ang Lee's Film was senseless action???
And then I'm confused...

The latter part of my sentence was to imply the above. Senseless action extravaganza's. The first part was to point out that the Hulk was in the last half of the film because they needed action to take place when realized that the story was going to far. Being a Hulk fan, I was quite upset by the character and his potrayal.

Ok i see your point...
Maybe we can discuss that here The Official 'I Still Love Ang Lee's Hulk' Thread
as we will digress off-topic on this thread :cwink:

Welcome BTW

Thank you.

I've literally just caughten up on all of this. Norton cast, Liv as Ross, Roth as Blonsky, Hurt as Thunderbolt. Overwhelming to say the least.

Ang Lee's film didn't have enough action & the Hulk was not shown every five minutes. I don't know what film you were watching.

People were moaning that Ang's Hulk didn't have enough 'Hulk Smash'. Are people going to object to too much 'Hulk Smash' this time around?

Just like Leterrier said, it needs to be 50/50. Equally much Hulk as Banner.

YEAH THAT! Hulk needs to be there consistently as the main character but not to the point where it overshadows the whole story...

They REALLY need to do it right though and not be parts of the movie that drag because the HULK's presense hasn't been there. Good shots too, even during the action, in SPMN3 the action shots like the alley fight were too close in and blurry. I want to be able to make out MOST of what's going on... Multi-dimensional fights would really help give the audience a sense of what HULK's all about too, such as maybe an underwater scene, fights on different levels of the city: sewer/street/rooftops. The more situations the BETTER!

Yep, there needs to be as much Hulk as much as there is Banner. Five to six transformations is enough.

I'll be happy if he gets at least a third of the total.

Seeing as how I believe Banner to be the more interesting character of the two, I'd like to see him get more screentime than the jolly green giant.

I think there should be a slightly longer Banner screentime that Hulk. 45% Hulk, 55% Banner. True the movie is called Hulk but if done right, Banner's struggle can be equally as fasinating. Besides every fan of the tv show knows that the biggest draw of the show, was the anticipation of waiting for Banner to Hulk-out. The wait built the suspense..for me anyway.

well, this is a hulk movie, and as much as a part banner is of hulk, i wanna see hulk as much as possible! and senseless action is THE HULK so the more smashing and fighting with abomination the better. as long as its not 40 mins before first transformation, that sucked so much ass in the first.

Agreed, the Hulk is all about action so he should have a lot of screen time.

There are some issues of the comic where Banner never appears at all. And they aren't all "action extravaganzas". If the director takes your attitude about the Hulk then yeah...don't throw him in there too much. But there is more to him than "Hulk smash!". If they treat him that way, then he will be doomed to be a "special effect" in this one just like he was in Lee's film.

The big lug has a personality...and he is a character. The title character actually. He's worth more than just an action diversion from the "tale of Bruce Banner".

Lol, I actually wouldn't mind seeing a film with mostly just the Hulk if done right.

45%-55%

I can't state the amount of time because we don't know the run time yet.
