I was 16, and I got a job as Saturday girl in the Early Learning Centre. I got fired after a couple of months because I refused to go up to Customers who were looking around and ask if I could help them. It really bugged me when shop assistants did that to me, so why would I do it to someone else?

there is nothing more annoying than being bothered by customer rep people.
here where i work, they have the 10 ft. greet rule.
if someone is within a 10 ft. radius of the front desk we HAVE to say "good morning" or "good evening" to them, even if they walk by us like 20 times during our shift.
it's ridiculous and it makes the customers uncomfotable because they either feel obligated to say it back to you, or they feel like they have to ignore you.

The day after my 16th birthday, my parents kicked me out of the house and said don't come back until I have a job. Been working ever since.

I did helper's work and BS stuff since I was 11, but 16 was my first "real" job.

Can't wait to do the same to my own kids. Damn if they ever get anything without working for it.

I focused on my studies at high school which I regret I only had a few babysitting gigs. I started to work full time when I was 21, some bakery coffe shop. Then at a call centre and recently at a kitchen supply store for seasonal. I would recomend getting work during school even if it's once a week, it realy help get over your nerves and your less naive.
