Not if Fox has their way, looks like the focus will be on SS.

There the box is opened by the real Doom, revealing the Doom of FF 1 was nothing but an advanced Doombot. Doom destroys the Doombot for giving Richards power when he was supposed to destroy him, then takes off to do the job himself.

While scouting the planet, the Silver Surfer senses the life force/cosmic power within the figure and using his cosmic powers, brings Doom back to life and restores him to a scarred but human form [loosing the silly metal man stuff].
To show his thanks, Doom steals the Surfer's powers and tosses him in the dungeon.

He was frozen into a statue in Fantastic Four.
I was thinking that maybe he wouldn't be frozen forever and would become unfrozen. Maybe on a dark and rainy night on the boat to Latveria, he will become unfrozen and violently kill the driver/captain (Whatever you call them.) and drive the boat himself.
But then I thought, "How do I know he knows how to drive a boat?".
So no.
So what are some of your ideas?
If I use one I will ask you before I use it too.

All I know is I agree that they should get rid of the concept of Doom being made of organic metal and get him back into his lab, designing some kick-ass battle armor, complete with force field. One way they could bring him back is maybe have him use his time machine. In the comics, Doom actually beat Reed in developing chronal technology and maybe he could "save" himself by going back to the time just before the transformation takes place. But he can't quite stop it in time to prevent the jagged scar from forming along side his face, just like in the Kirby sketch and John Bryne's "True Lies" story.
And by the way, it's not a skirt ... it's a TUNIC!!He's back in the "classic" look now in the comics, too, after abandoning the leather armor. The classic Doom armor looks pretty awesome when done by a good artist, like Sal Larocca...

If they do decide to go with the Silver Surfer, I'd love to see this scene brought to life on the big screen. But that wouldn't happen until the FF defeat Galactus, which would be an entire movie in itself. The Surfer losing his powers would have to be in FF3.

Second, even if the Surfer is in the movie, they can still show Doom's rise to being Latveria's monarch, with him tracking the Surfer, luring him to Latveria, absorbing his powers, and becoming a god. The 2nd movie and the victory belong to Doom...Galactus shows up in the 3rd, defeats Doom, and the Surfer joins Earth in the end.
I always supported Julian McMahon as Doom...he's got the arrogance to play the character, he looks like Victor...its not his fault they gave him some not so good dialogue (cringes at the mere thought of "Marco Polo"...shudder...). However, when he said lines like "Take a good look, Ben. This is what a man looks like who embraces his destiny)...that was a small sample of Doom-like dialogue..
Just give us Doom in whatever script is chosen, make him comic book like, make him says Richards, make him a force to fear, an intellect unrivaled, save for Richards..
