Everything comes full circle. Look at the intrest in things from the 60's, and 70's, that the kids of today think are new. My son bought a pair of platform shoes, said arn't they great ? I said I had a pair that looked just like them in the early 70's. Saturday Night Fever, John Travolta, disco. All comes full circle. And Harry Callahan is my favorite. Put the 44 magnum on the map. Bought 1 soon after the movie came out. Still have it. most powerfull handgun in the world, at that time.

I say bring him back, ala Robo Cop. Take his essences, and stick it in a new metal suit resembling more the look of the Kirby Dr. Doom.

Dirty Harry is da bomb. Have all 5 Dirty Harry movies, plus all his spaghetti westerns. Go ahead, make my day. :) Like I always said Hunter, we don't agree, and we've gone tooth and nail, but I always respected ya.

The skin shedding idea makes sense, but I would take it a step further:

By the way, I always thought Doom's "mystical" armor was not leather, but instead the skin and veins of Valeria, flayed from her body by the demons when he sacrificed her in his pact with them. Only that explanation is horrific enough for Doom.

True enough, but like the hide of cattle, one assumes the skin had to be treated in some way, or "tanned" to become wearable. Hence, the simplification of just calling it "leather" armor.

How come the X-Men trilogy gets a committed Ian "Magneto" McKellan every time and we fans of Doctor Doom have to guess, hope, and pray that he will be in the sequel? Just put him in there, make McMahon monarch of Latveria, have him attack with armies of Doombots, etc. Make him smart, rivaling that damn Richards, and don't forget, make him look more regal, royal, and curse Richards name

and say "Bah!" a lot. :D

My original thought was to give Doom a rest for a movie or two, and explore some other story lines with new villians. Sure Doom is the main nemesis, but he was not in every issue of the FF and he sure as hell should NOT be in every FF movie [and not even pulling the strings behind other villians]! If they do bring him back in part 2, it should be the Surfer powers story line, otherwise, leave him on ice for a sequel or two.

Still haven't seen as Story said full Doom. Hope we'll se it in this film. Then cut him out for 3, wouldn't be a problem. We have yet to see the real Dr. Doom.

Doom needs to be the equivalent of Magneto in the X-Men movies...in every installment but throw in new characters as well. With that said, I think the Surfer coming to Earth to prepare for Galactus's arrival and Doom absorbing his powers is the PERFECT sequel and then we can have Doom making demands to the United Nations to surrender Earth to him...which will lead into part 3 when Galactus finally shows up, Doom challenges him for supremacy, gets his butt kicked, the F4 save the day, and the Surfer defies his master, which leads into Surfer's film.

While I have enjoied the X-films, I think their biggest problems have been that they focous too much on Wolverine and Magneto.

The ONE thing the BatMan movies got right was to change the villians with every film.

If you look at the first 100 issues of the FF comic, Doom was in less than 20 of them! Doom should NOT be in every FF movie, he has never been so much of a presence in the FF comics as to be behind every attack on them, and it should not be the case in the movies. Do him right in part 2, resolve that story with with coming of Galactus and then move on; leaving part 3 to focus on the Big G and the Surfer.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling thats what they will do....

I think that Dr.Doom was kool but he wasnt at all scary. I would like to see them make him really bad or get some new villian!

Welcome to the hype Tai...
