How to be a Lounge Lover

GotG2 felt, to me, like what Hangover 2 was to Hangover 1. More of the same, but louder, messier and far too reliant on the jokes.
I'd agree with you if not for the final 10-15 mins. I feel like it added something substantial to allow it to stand on its own, even if it isn't as good as the first.

And that is the one thing I'll give the film, the last few minutes did wonders in the sense that it elevated Yondu and finally gave Michael Rooker something worthy of him as an actor.

But in saying that as well, I feel that it was also very telegraphed. Whether that counts as a flaw or not is a different discussion though.

Guardians 2 was a perfectly cromulent movie. Not the greatest, but not terrible. It had a solid villain, and an actual emotional impact. It was a little disorganized at points, and edited weird, but it was decent enough.

Frankly FC I am embarrassed by the incompentence you have shown here. :o

I JUST saw that thread. Don't bring that hell over here, or we'll have to burn it down to stop the spread.

Why are we calling it the Stallone "scene". There were [blackout]multiple scenes with him[/blackout]. If we're talking about the [blackout]credit scene[/blackout], of course it doesn't make sense without the context of the rest of the film behind it. [blackout]Stallone was organizing his own "Guardians" from Ravager leaders who showed up during Yondu's funeral[/blackout].

One of them is a sorcerer like Dr. Strange and another is voiced by Miley Cyrus.

Did someone say incompitanse? I'm all about incomptinz.

And one was played by [blackout]Michael Rosenbaum. He never leaves home without his piece.[/blackout]

The stuff with Stallone and the gold people felt like it was just there to lead into the third movie.

The gold people stuff could've all been the opening of GotG3. When they showed up on Ego I groaned because it meant they where there drag the run time out.

I do think Vol 2 will play much better when Vol 3 is released and we see where it bridges to, but I just wish Marvel had gotten past it's "make it a two hour trailer" phase.

He meant the first one which Marvel released. The sci-fi gibberish combined with Stallone's usual hard to follow speech made it hard for Reek to figure out what the scene was about.

I'm so glad we have someone here who can explain Reek's psyche to us. It's a constant struggle.

It's always a little hard to tell what the hell Stallone is saying, but the scene was pretty straightforward. The sci-fi gibberish doesn't really have any effect on the scene itself. The fact that the clip Stallone released seems to be missing the opening of the scene doesn't help though.

Hey... There's a little Reek in all of us. Which is why I am going in for a surgical procedure Monday.

Well I didn't quite pick it all up either until the end provided the context.

He hasn't had an easy life.

I'll just continue to rely on dude, The Reek Whisperer.

More like the Reek Cuddlier. I hear cuddling is the only thing Reek responds to a lot of the time.

Rewatching Spotlight. Still one of the best movies I've ever watched, completely engrossing from minute one.

Not sure what "made no sense" about the Stallone scene, but it was just a cameo so whatever.
Well...if you had never seen GotG2 and watched the released clip of Stallone and Rooker, I guess you're smart enough to make sense of the **** that was said :o:o

I agree

Look! A brain!

My psyche? Well... I can assure you I'm the least of your worries. I'm sorry to disappoint you and your almighty intelligence.

Hey... There's a little Reek in all of us. Which is why I am going in for a surgical procedure Monday.

There's a lot of Reek in all of you, you're all just cowards and scared of things I am not.

Well I didn't quite pick it all up either until the end provided the context.

Thank you dude. These people don't know ****... or the things I've been through. So frankly they can shut the **** up about my psyche before they see it first hand.

I'll just continue to rely on dude, The Reek Whisperer.
I bet you will continue to rely on dude.

If you touch me, I'll cut your balls off and give them to R'hilor.

He's a fighter

Accepted.

No, this was opening night. Things open at 7pm on Thursdays now. It's kinda the replacement for midnight shows these days since those were deemed "unsafe."

i saw it Thursday too. was pretty enjoyable imo. It wasn't perfect by any means, and some jokes were a bit too forced, but i liked it for the most part.

If I were to slap a DC logo on it, Flick would hate it.

It's a surprisingly re-watchable movie given the subject matter, imo. In a weird way it kinda reminds me of Zodiac, in that the pursuit of the truth and the journalistic procedural aspects make it really engrossing every time.
