Does anybody have a good tutorial they can send me that shows how to do Heath's scars in TDK? I'm having a bit of trouble. I basically need a step by step process and what I need. Thanks, guys! :woot:

you could use rigid collodion, it dries your skin and give it a scar effect.

It is probably just a small prosthetic that they use, glued to his cheek.

well i dont know what youse is talking about, but lookey here. Deathfromabove used rigid collodion and the scars came out real good

Tagged!

And I know it's nit-picking, but isn't the cut on the right side of his face smaller than the one on the left?

Either way, that's awesome!

yeah the rigid collodion looks very effective, as well as that ebay link.

yeah thats true about the different scars. i'll probably shape it to my liking

That's amazing but not accurate.
It's possibly the best and one of the few to give us a STEP by STEP process of how to apply scarring. It was in the "Joker costume for holloween" thread.
While not completely accurate, it is still extremely useful in applying any form of scarring

Agreed. It's very useful, and while not 100% accurate, is anyone besides us geeky Bat-freaks even going to f***ing notice, much less care?

No.

it dries your skin, giving it a scar effect, i believe.

No.
calm down? maybe? haha no, but i know what you mean. I'd rather have it accurate though. I think im gonna go with the rigid collodion. Look legit enough.

Yeah. I agree.

You know no one else notices, but YOU do. That's enough to drive a man... to insanity!

As the collodion dries, it contracts and pulls your skin together, creating the scarring effect.

The only problem with the rigid collodian is that it peels off pretty easily. Especially around the mouth area from all the movement of talking.

The Dark Knight film used silicone prosthetics for Heath Ledger's face.

The silicone was probably a platinum silicone and they would have used a Skin-Tite, or a similar material that bonds with a very strong hold.

Remember in films there are constant retouches and prosthetic fixing during the shoot.

Silicone is expensive and so is the pigment needed to make it look flesh colored.

Stick with latex or rigid collodion.

The real process would involve a face cast of the wearer, sculpting of the scar, mold making and then use of the silicone so that the contours fit with the wearer's face.

if you do it right it lasts just as long as latex and spirit gum. and it has the added benifit of not having blending edges to deal with. blending edges which no one using latex has managed to avoid thus far.
