A lot of fans are unhappy about the storylines from Superman Returns. Yet, others don't want a reboot. How about doing a sequel where we see Superman unconscious hooked up to machines by Brainiac. He eventually breaks out and we learn that he never left Earth, Lois is not engaged, she never had a kid and Lex is not a criminal. But, the dream was a manifestation of his feelings. Such as being alone, wanting a family and even though Lex is a corporate CEO he is still a common criminal.

There are other, better ways to please both camps than the hackneyed "It was all a bad dream . . ." write off.

Ummmm...no. That would be the biggest cop out ever and I think both the haters and lovers of SR would hate to see something so cheap.

How about "Jason is just a super-robot who escaped from the Fortress and developed his own identity."

I could totally go for Superman being trapped on Krypton by brainiac, and our Superman actually turning out to be bizarro... but even that'd be a huge stretch.

I'd rather jason turn out to be an annoying teen who wants to save the world... at the climax of the movie, after the BIG Baddie, Luthor catches up with Supes, Jason saves him, but is badly injured. Defeated Luthor is searched, and the last crystal is found on him. Movie ends with a race to get Jason and the crystal to the fortress, where Jason can be put into some sort of 'stasis', by putting him the Phantom Zone, where he wouldn't die. Problem dealt with. That way he's not dead, he's out of the way, and it's easy to bring him back if someone really wants to (but who would?). And this could be an interesting way to introduce a supergirl franchise on it's own, with Jason as the intermediate character, rather than superman

You know. I was going to post a pic of Bobby Ewing from Dallas in the shower scene. But, I figured most people under the age of 30 wouldn't have any idea why I was posting it. For those who don't know. On Dallas the character of Bobby died. The a year later they brought him back. His wife sees him in the shower and his whole death...actually the whole season was a dream. :woot:

ROFL, okay heres some history for you that pissed off America in 1986 and became the butt of jokes since (even on Family Guy with a live action skit).

TV show Dallas: Season Eight followed the aftermath of the death of Bobby Ewing and their trials and tribulations without Bobby in their lives. When Patrick Duffy decided to come back as Bobby in the spring of 1986 the producers decided to make the whole of Season Seven a DREAM. So Pam woke up and Bobby was alive , it had all been her nightmare.

Do this to Superman and there might be a linchin in LA.

The best way for WB to have rebooted Superman, would to have gone through with a Justice League movie. Had it happened and been successful, they couldn't started a new series with whomever was cast in JL and it would've made a reboot more justified.

I remember that. Even as a kid I was like WTF???

I am moving this to the proper forum.

It seems that most of the people who don't want a reboot are the ones that liked SR. Even though a reboot would be embarrassing for WB and an admission that they screwed up, I would prefer it to the dream concept.
