Dark of the Moon How to make TF3 better than the first 2 movies

How to make TF3 better than the first 2 movies
Keep the only good thing about this franchise: The robot designs. And the human characters i guess....
AND CHANGE THE ****ING DIRECTOR.

That is all.

Fine, i'll elaborate. Bay has the brain of a child. He thought of some actions scenes that seemed cool to him and then he sew them up together in a cluster**** of a film that was ROTF. He got slammed for it so now he promised less robots and a darker note. He might do that but the movie will still be ******ed in some other way.

What this franchise needs is a competent set of directors and writers that will write a good plot instead of sewing up one action scene after the other. It doesnt have to be Shakespeare. GIJoe wasnt either but it was a thousand times better than ROTF.

Some suggestions:
1) Writing the characters the way they re supposed to be. Prime is a compassionate leader and yes a badass warrior when the situation calls for it, but i dont recall him ever taking faces or executing prisoners.

2) Developing said characters.

3) Focusing on the important ones and not the Twins. Remember that scene where that guy asks the TF to leave the planet? Ratchet says: "Ironhide maybe we should leave this planet". And Ironhide replies: "That's not what Prime would want". And i was like: "**** yeah, a serious scene about the two veterans mourning about Prime and deciding what to do. They ll probably lead the TF together! This is going to be awesome". But no, it wasnt. Farts, man-thongs and sex jokes ensued.

4) No more Twins, fat hacker guy, and other idiotic characters.

5) Getting an actual sense of humor. (like that's going to happen :whatever:)

6) Removing whatever Megan put into her lips so that she looks like she did in TF1.

If TF3 is going to go all out and be the epics of all epics I think they need to include this into the film. Have it at the very beginning of the film in order to set the mood.

I don't think with Michael Bay a good third film is possible anymore IMO. I liked the first film and that may very well be it.

this is what Bay thinks about people who dont like hes movies............................ :lmao:

Estimated 2009 earnings: $125 million
$75 million: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (back-end profit participation for directing and producing, based on worldwide box-office gross of $835 million)
$28 million: Transformers: R.O.T.F. (share of estimated $280 million in DVD revenue)
$12.5 million: Transformers: R.O.T.F. (share of toy and other licensing royalties)
$4 million: Friday the 13th (back end for producing, based on worldwide gross of $90 million, and share of DVD)
$2 million: The Unborn (back end for producing, based on worldwide gross of $77 million, and share of DVD)
$2 million: A Nightmare on Elm Street (fee for producing inexplicable remake)
$1.5 million: Royalties from older films, other income

Honestly, the big things they need to do are have a discernible plot (what the hell was the point in ROTF, really? It was the kind of plot that a 5-year-old would think up) and make the robot characters stand out from each other, not just in look but in personality.

For instance, say what you will about the first movie but all of the Transformers, though drawn somewhat loosely, were all their own character that you could remember throughout the movie. Prime, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Iron Hide, Jazz...you knew who each one was, so when Jazz got killed at the end at least it wasn't a feeling of "Oh, which robot was that?"

In contrast, ROTF made it so that even the characters who had been clear in the first movie blended into the background. The only ones who really stood out were Prime, a couple of the bad guys, the "twins," (ugh) and Bumblebee, if only because of his close association with Sam.

Discernible plot in a Transformers movie by Michael Bay? Surely you jest! :hehe:

All they need to do is fire Bay and find someone who can develop a somewhat decent story/script that follows basic transformer premises.

Haha, well, that's true. He could at least manage something simple though. Even a basic, done-to-the-death plot is better than a convoluted mess filled with a million half-baked ideas, like the last movie was.

I actually liked the first movie (not that I don't see its glaring flaws) but ROTF left me with the impression that, when writing the so-called "script," they'd watched a million different sci-fi movies, documentaries and so on and wanted to throw in ideas from every one of them, then cycled through them (along with all those sex jokes) in a purposely dizzy manner so that you're not supposed to have a chance to question the sheer ridiculousness of the whole thing.

If Bay wants to make TF3 better than the previous two, here are several things he needs to do:

- Make Transformers real characters: Except for Optimus Prime, you don't feel anything particularly special about other TF. There's no real personality for Megatron except that he just likes to destroy stuff, and you don't sense any history between the two ancient enemies. The problem is that Bay's Transformers should probably be renamed as Sam & the Transformers, because those TFs have taken a backseat to the human actors.

- No stupid sex & fart jokes, please.

- Explain Clones/Drones, or better yet, avoid them: In ROTF, several TF that look like the Constructicons showed up, without any explaination. Are they clones of Constructicons? Drones without "spark"? Bay didn't bother to explain, but I guess even he doesn't have the answer; he just want to see things blow up real good.

- No More Devastator (or Devastator-sized Disappointment): There's no Transformers that were as hyped up as the Devastator in ROTF (the first combiner), and also disappointment that equals its hype. For such a "fearsome" TF, it couldn't even kill one of the idiotic Twins. Devastator was just there to sell the commercials and make fanboys drool about its (unfulfilled) potential.

- Have real & better plot: In ROTF, the Fallen is supposed to be this all-powerful being who wanted to destroy Earth, even though other Cybertronians didn't want him to? Why didn't he go and destroy other billions of planets instead? And why did it take so long for him to find that device that can destroy the sun? Plot and story are an afterthought in ROTF.

Anyway, there are just a few things on top of my head that Bay needs to do to make TF3 better, but I think he'd rather make more explosions than making the screenplay work.

You can start making Transformer films better by spacing out the time between each one.

Paint Ironhide Red and Ratchet White...

So he has more money than he knows what to do with. How does that put his movies above criticism?

All of this is traced back to one thing. What Bay does makes no ****ing sense!

How to make it better?

Not make it at all.

WOW! It was easy.

Just thought I would address this one, he knew were the machine was all along, but the only thing that could power it was The Matrix, without the Matrix, the machine wouldnt work, and The Fallen didnt know were the Matrix was, but Jetfire had clues about its location that he disclosed to Sam et al.

You know this Bay hate is really turning into BS. Somehow the man is getting something right if a lot of people(which includes you) are watching his films.

More focus on the ALL the machines. Outside of Megatron and Optimus. We know next to little about everyone else.

I think Sam/Mikayla romance can take a back seat. They are together no need to shake the boat. I like the parents actually.

Less setup. We got who everyone is now. Just go straight into the main story.

The final battle should be huge. A battle where everyone participates and not just Optimus.

I have never had a problem with the human being able to fight the Decepticons. I hate movies where the humans are so useless. Bay was really good at showing the strength and weakness of the army. They can fight a big stationary target but once these machines get to moving or use smaller targets. The humans tend to be overwhelmed.

No new Autobots! Keep the roster and work from there. Maybe tone down the twins. Bring back that sector 7 guy. More more more dialouge between the transformers. Starscream and Bumblebee should have a "nice" talk. Hell dual between megatron and someone other then optimus.

We all hate Michael Bay and for good reason. We bash and bash until our fingers get sore from typing.

It is sad to say that the cartoons and comics were not relived through the movies. That Bay would rather have humping robots then character arch's. The sad truth is money talks...and makes a lot of the decisions, this is the world we live in...and sometimes making more money supercedes truly caring about what you create.

His as well as his writers lack the knowledge not only in the main characters but the entire feel of what Transformers has stood for in the past to us fans. Optimus would have never killed renegade decepticons, he was the voice of reason and always tried to convert decepticons over to the autobots.

The first movie was only exciting to me because I got to see Transformers actually transform in live action and with great CG. Once all of that excitement washed away the movie was pretty shallow. The parents annoying/megan fox shouldnt act/Jazz the racially suggestive robot. The second movie was a far cry from what I felt needed to be done.

That is all Im not going to talk about this anymore it upsets me too much. :whatever:

I think its gonna be hard to top the second movie... the second one was pretty awesome. I think Josh Duhamuel and tyrese gibson should have more fighting tho

Bay will really have to redeem himself with this movie. The first Transformers had a good balance of funny scenes with serious scenes. The script wasn't half bad and each Autobot Transformer had a good role into it. A good first film to start off the franchise.

ROTF killed any momentum is had and set it back 20 steps. The script was beyond awful, they made Jetfire into a complete joke when he was introduced. The jokes were so bad at times. Have a couple of jokes like in the first film, that's fine but he went overboard and completely killed the mood of the film. Leo was also a huge mistake, the guy was a complete joke and I don't want to ever see him again.

I enjoy the designs from the movies though, in particular Sideswipe and Ironhide. So can we actually use the Transformer characters other than Megatron, Bumblebee and Optimus? Everyone get's pushed back to the side far too much.

Bay has a lot of work to do.

Jazz the racially suggestive robot
Um, you do realize that in the cartoon Jazz was voiced by this guy...

Scatman Crothers
He also spoke in a "racially suggestive" manner. It was his character. Face it, Jazz was the "token black guy".

Not that it makes things right, but this was done all the time in the cartoon. Suddenly a bunch of random (almost always Decepticon) clones would show up out of nowhere.
