How to save this awesome show!

Let's not jump to conclusions here. We have to be patient and see how things go on this new network. The only thing that is going to save this show is viewership. One of these networks have to order more episodes and of course it is based on how well ratings do and overall popularity. There are expectations and if the show meets those requirements then there will be more seasons.

These executives are running a business and of course as with any show it has to be profitable for them.

I watched the Shocker episode today on DXD. Trying to help with the ratings, even though I don't have a Nielson Box.

Oh ho. Spiderine them continueing this show should be a no-brainer. Its great! A VERY profitable expense, I can't even begin to describe how their reputations will sky-rocket once Seasons 2, 3 and possibly 4 and 5 are up. Its a near perfect Spider-Man show! They brought John Jameson's little scuffle with alien spores into the show for God's sake, if this show doesn't scream Spider-Man nothing will! This show just has a lot, ALOT of potential. Season 2 was fan-freaking-tastic, further seasons would possibly be even better. Season 3, season 4 and season 5 would be extremely profitable. But... I might be wrong... I don't know.

thanks Dread. thanks alot.
very very nice letter and i am sure nobody expected otherwise from you.

Awesome work Dread :woot:

Do we have any idea on how well the first three episodes did on disney XD ???

i looked online and couldnt find anything!

Some possibly bad news; Victor Cook, who was the animation producer and co-showrunner with Greg Wiesman, has just attached himself to direct a new feature with STARZ MEDIA and FILM ROMAN, "Dante's Inferno".

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118001831.html?categoryid=19&cs=1

Victor Cook has worked with STARZ MEDIA before on the HELLBOY ANIMATED DTV's.

It is possible that Cook could do both a third TSSM season and this at once, but it would be hectic. It does show that naturally the talent involved can't wait long before attaching to new projects, especially with the economy as it is.

Keep in mind it is possible for Victor Cook to still be involved with the show w/out being the supervising producer and/or co-show runner.

At the absolute best I could still see Cook being an idea man on the show, but I'm not sure he would have the time to stay on as a supervising director.

I typed up a letter on Word, and it is about 2 pages long. I am not that skilled at WORD with making lines to sign and I am aware that there are specific Internet programs to handle electronic signatures, which I also am not aware of how to so. But I figure because Persian asked and I found the time, I will attach the letter here. Those who wish to move forward with it may use it as they will, just keep me in the loop so I can sign whatever electronic thing I have to.

The last time I did something like this, it was to try to save X-MEN EVOLUTION. Hopefully this one goes better. :)

Didn't realize you were a big fan of X-Men Evolution Dread. I was a big fan of the show to, and was disappointed once it was cancelled. Granted I didn't start out as a big fan of the show, but the creators stuck with their ways of running things; but from Season 3 onwards I fell in love with the show and appreciated the characters much more after all the little things they did before that.
The only things I could see that held the show back from getting renewed was that Kids WB only wanted 1-2 superhero shows on their network; and with Static Shock there and with The Batman going through their pipe, they didn't want another superhero show.
Cartoon Network felt like they didn't want to spend money on renewing the show.

The only thing keeping Spectacular Spider-Man from getting renewed is the fact that Disney XD is testing the show in the waters, to see how it's ratings are doing, and the damn economy to a certain degree.

Though it's hard to tell how much they care:
-On one hand they've done a lousy job promoting the show, they started promos for its airing on March 23 on March 9th at the earliest from what I've heard. The promos for the show should've started far sooner IMO. Like on Disney XD's starting date.
+On the other hand, they put the show's airing time for new episodes right after it's supposed #1 draw Aaron Stone. Though why they would do that w/out a lack of promotions, I don't know?

Hopefully the show doesn't suffer from the same fate as X-Men Evolution. Unlike Evolution, Spidey hasn't had the opportunity to hit any sort of creative peak at this moment in time.

Well sort of, but there's been no official ratings on the show itself, just on how Disney XD has done (from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.) ever since Spectacular Spidey debuted there.

Here they are:
  • 3/23: Kids 2-11 (169), Kids 6-11 (116), Tweens (90)
  • 3/24: Kids 2-11 (140), Kids 6-11 (87), Tweens (56)
  • 3/25: Kids 2-11 (140), Kids 6-11 (79), Tweens (61)
  • 3/26: Kids 2-11 (137), Kids 6-11 (90), Tweens (66)
  • 3/27: Kids 2-11 (133), Kids 6-11 (83), Tweens (59)
Let me once again state that this is in no way absolutely reflective of how Spectacular Spider-Man is doing, just it's possible contributions.

If you wish to find out more on what these numbers mean, or you don't know what they mean: you can visit cynopsis.com's archive for this information here.

But how does that compare to the numbers from the previous week?

Try as hard as you like, but it's not going to work. You'll never have any impact on the ratings at all unless you're part of a Nielsen household.

To be honest it's hard to tell. In Disney XD's first weekend of existance it scored in the low two hundreds. Ever since then the numbers have been scatterplotting all over the place. With no sort of upward or downward trend.

ahahhahaha, i'm so sorry for laughting at you but, that is just dumb !
i will help you mentalizing my rating too, i'll make an extra effort being that i'm in another country and don't have a nielsen box.:o

If this show does not get a 3rd season, what will your reactions be, guys? Honestly, I know mine will have to do with alot of anger and sadness, that's for sure. However, I want to think positive about a 3rd season. Season 3 FTW, is all I have to say. Or better yet, TSSM FTW!

You know, you don't have to be a jackass to get your point across.

They need to release season boxed sets, so we can buy them and show the show is a money maker.

Ok
So now, we got Dread's wonderfully written letter. What should we do with it? I say let us use it as an online petition to collect signatures. Then, via another letter, we can alert the spidey sites (like the ones I mentioned on page one of this thread) and animation sites like toonzone on the net that there is this petition so that they can let their visitors know.

Come on guys ! let’s get it done!

That's okay.

Either way, I would still watch TSSM, regardless if I have a Nielson Box. :yay:

Lets get past the name-calling and focus! Season 3, if it doesn't get OK'd I'll be completely un-satisified with this show. Especially since this show has alot of potential. You guys did point out that they used real old characters like Blackie Gaxton and Patch. Think what else these geniuses can do. There will be a season 3. It just hasn't been OK'd...right?

if Greg has every reason to believe in season 3, so should we. but then again, he said there're no guarantees.

Indeed. However guarantee or not, this show is great with alot of un-resolved issues. Unless those folks in Disney XD are selfish pigs who wish to destroy this show, they'd be un-wise to pass down an invesment oppurtunity such as this show. What other show can get them MORE money? SSM is just in Season 2, and its 10/10. They can and should expand to see how Season 3 and possibly 4 and 5 do.

what is up with certain posts in various threads showing angery red face instead of certain letters.
