The massive amount of garbage humans create will finally muck with gravity enough that we'll go out of orbit, and hurtle into Mars.

People call me crazy, but I know the truth.

This is easy, millions of years from now the sun will expand and devour the Earth. If humans haven't figured out space travel by then, well we are ****ed

A giant asteroid or we nuke ourselves into oblivion.

The world won't end. It'll be here. We won't of course. We'll be long dead of our own stupidity.

Humanity will end by one of the following, and within 100 years:

1. Nuclear War

2. Global Epidemic/Virus/Contagion

3. Climate Event / Extreme Weather

4. Cyberterrorism/Hacking resulting in the launching of weapons, the release of a contagion/virus, and the total collapse of global economies.

(Be ready for #4, because they'll certainly be capable of these things sooner rather than later.)

We'll probably still be here one way or another.

This reminds me of the book Evolution by Stephen Baxter. It a collection of short stories that goes through the evolutionary process from a small mammal through today over the course of 150 million years and after an extinction level event 'today' it shows the evolution of humans for the next 500 million years. It's pretty cool.

The world ends when you, yourself, die. The End. :o

Can the earths blood/oil ever be fully drained or does it replenish itself over time? Since the earth is a biological/organic mechanism just imagine if all its natural resources are depleted & throws it terribly off course since it can no longer rotate properly maybe it will eventually tear itself apart by tremendous earthquakes caused by no longer having any lubrication in the earth.

I think that meteorites will decimate most of the organic life on Earth and then the sun will fry the rest before destroying the Earth completely.

Unless we start firing off billions of tonnes of garbage into space then there's pretty much no way for us to make the earth unstable. Even if we do it will take millenia to even make a small impact doing that.

Oil can be replenished as it's basically dead stuff over millions of years but it takes millions of years.

Also, there's still lubrication on earth. Like every other thing that can be used, like water. We have a lot of that.

Either an asteroid or pollution will kill all humans.

I was always fond of the sun turning into a red giant, thus scorching the planet before turning into a white dwarf and freezing the planet into nothingness. Either that, or the world ending like it was foretold in the book of Revelation. It's my favorite book of the Bible.

What a morbid thread. Damn.

The world itself will go byebye when the sun expands and devours it like a pizza roll in a few billion years. We will be gone in a few hundred thousand at most as ether we evolve beyond what we consider 'human' through technological or biological changes, probably both, unless we wipe ourselves out first. We either leave the planet and explore the solar system/galaxy/universe/multiverse or we die out on this planet.

After the human race has left the planet to seed other systems, millions of years later evolution happens again and another sentient species takes over the planet and evolves to travel to other worlds as well, then it may happen a third time with another species and the the sun will supernova as it will inevitably take the earth with it. By that time all of the species that Earth created will have forgotten their mother because they have been away form her for millions of years.

Except the immortals who stay behind. :p

The answer to this is so easy!

Hear Johnny Cash tell us about it - Goin' By The Book. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEyujOSEexM

Main source for the answer: see the final chapters of the Book of Revelation! To cut it short - there are at least 1007 years and then this planet will be destroyed and a new earth will be created.

And it is not even in your options!

Our sun will not supernova.

It just grows bigger, turns different colors then collapses in on itself right? Not 100% sure about my astrophysics. :p

Actually, it won't collapse on itself. Our sun goes: main sequence --> red giant ---> white dwarf ---> black dwarf

When our sun turns into a red giant, it will only expand past Venus thus turning the Earth into fried chicken.

That's what I meant about the pizza roll. :p

Actually, I wiki'd some stuff and there is a theory that the earth may be engulfed by the sun. It sure will be quite delicious.
