Sequels How would you do Darkseid for this Superman movie franchise?

they shoul use darkseid.my thought was this superman returns use lex luthor , the next movie brainiac and have him build metallo which i think brian singer will do,the final movie then introduce darkseid and have him invade metropolis and you can even have his son jason fight along side his father during the invasion.

Thats quite simple. I would make a parallel between him and Htiler. Make Apokolips look like a huge Concentration camp. This way people would take him seriously. And the whole movie would be like a World War II type of a movie but desguised with fantasy, aliens and Superman.

Simple: You don't. If Darkseid is ever in a movie, it should be a Fourth World movie. Superman is beneath him.

Like that's ever going to happen. They haven't even made a Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, or Flash movie! So what's the hope there ever being a Fourth World movie! If they did, it would be a financial and critical nightmare with all the special effects and people who don't read comics would say it's a Star Wars rip-off. Most likely the White Martains would the villains in a Justice League movie. So Darkseid is better off appearing a Superman movie. He is and always will be Superman's greatest physical threat.

Sorry for spelling and grammer.

First off I like the way S:TAS portrayed Darkseid, it really is the true version of the character when it comes to Superman. I would develop a story similar to this version, except I would show Darkseid as more of a villain than anything else.

It would start out with the theme, pride, Superman's return to Earth has become overconfident and full of pride of the acceptance of his return, much like Peter in Spider-Man 3. This means Lois is back in love with him, the world is generally praising Superman for his return and such. Suddenly being the jealous type, Darkseid sees this and is disgusted, but slighly jealous of the praise Superman has earned. Using the over dramatized reactions of humanity, he assumes that the Anti-Life Equation is in them because they are so easily impressed. He decides he must act to get the formula.

As Superman begins to enjoy and prideful in life, something happens that causes him to change his tune. A disease epidemic breaks out and causes the deaths of many hundreds of people. Later research finds it to be a Kryptonian virus that Superman may have brought back with him in SR. Superman soon begins to be blamed for the break out and is soon isolated as an alien.

Lex Luthor takes advantage of this and begins building credibility, from a person who seems least likely to get it, and bashes Superman for his bringing the virus to Earth and warns humanity of what else could happen. What's worse is Lois, and several others at the Daily Planet are infected and hospialized.

Of course this is no ordinary disease, it causes what could be similar to the results of a Bird flu break out all over the world. Civil strife, meidcal shortages, vandalism, rioting, and all out chaos erupt on a global scale. Superman blames himself and decides to isolate to the Fortress of Solitude.

Eventually Darkseid reaches out and promises a cure for the epidemic on a distant alien world. He then forces Superman to vow to never return to Earth and hand the cure to him for the sake of humanity.

Superman goes to the planet to find the cure, while Darkseid's forces surround Earth and begin pressing in an invasion. Darkseid lands and begins telling humanity that he has a cure. He then repairs the damages left behind by the disease, which he does not reveal he created. He then gets the trust of humanity and his fleet moves in.

At the same time, Darkseid makes a deal with Lex Luthor to give him weapons in turn for giving loyalty from the crowd he has gathered from degrading Superman. Once he has their control, he personally severly beats Luthor and forces the crowd to give in to him.

Peaces turns to chaos as Darkseid begins rounding up humans and searching their minds for any trace of the anti-life equation. He kills many thousands in the process and kills anyone who resists inspection and taking oath to Darkseid. He also kills random humans as an example to resisting his rule. Several large cities are destroyed in the process. Hell on Earth has erupted.

Superman returns to Earth after finding the ingredient which Darkseid told him to get and is betrayed. Darkseid informs Superman of the truth and tries to have him killed the second he returns. He survives and realizes he must help humanity.

Superman eventually must ally with Lex Luthor, Lois and the rest of humanity to fight off the armada which has gathered over Earth, no matter how much they don't want to. Darkseid and humanity then have a large battle and much of the fleet is destroyed. Superman Darkseid brawl in a personal fight.

Just as Superman is about to kill Darkseid, as he is infamous for nearly doing, Darkseid takes advantage of the oppotunity and kills several million people in a large device that levels a large part of Metropolis and kills many thousands to make a personal mark not to mess, with him, he then escapes back to Darkseid seemingly undefeated.

Your are absolutely correct with how :super: TAS portrayed Darkseid.
I disagree with making Darkseid more of a villain though, Darkseid a Overlord, a Conquer like Darth Vader.
My good man or madam have more respect for Lord Darkseid, to belittle him as some petty villain.
In the words of Alfred Pennyworth "my word!" :whatever:

Personality wise, I completely agree that Darkseid should act like his TAS counterpart.

But he was too weak in TAS IMO. Darkseid should literally be THE most powerful being in the universe, moreso than Superman. He should be smarter and more strategic than freaking Dr. Doom.

That is why I think that a Superman movie is beneath Darkseid. He should be used for a JUSTICE LEAGUE MOVIE. Having Superman team up with an experienced Batman, Wonder Woman, Barry Allen, Hal Jordan, Orin, and Martian Manhunter would be a much better use of Darkseid's character and literally infinite power.

Ahahahaha. I'd do him from behind... Sorry! Sorry... I'm just really bored. I'll just... go away.

Here's your Darkseid, No CGI character - just good make-up and of course the actor under the make-up:
hellboy-37.jpg

They can have Darkseid in the next movie - it doesn't have to be so complicated. It doesn't have to be three movies. Just make it a damn alien invasion movie. As an earlier poster said, it will be like Hitler from space. There is no way they are gonna have a Superman movie detached from Earth - so you can forget your Apokolips on film - if anything it will be a quick bunch of scenes of Darkseid on Apokolips showing how he's the master and all his slaves. And furthermore, there is no way that the Superman movies can detatch itself from Lex Luthor or "the villain that constantly screws up Superman movies and prevents them from being different"

Michael Clark Duncan under the suit, Michael Ironside for the voice.

Dennis Haysbert to me would make a better Black Manta then Darkseid. Darkseid should be done in motion capture CGI like Davy Jones and Gollum. It may have worked for Hellboy, but they shouldn't do it for Darkseid unless you want him to look silly. Darkseid should be played by the one and only Michael Ironside. To me, Michael Ironside is to Darkseid as Christopher Reeve is to Superman. Though there are some rumers at the IMDB message boards of Laurence Fishburne playing Darkseid.

this movie (if it happens, and i think this is all a rouse to gauge approval) is gonna be awful (think bruckheimer or bay). DC wants to cash-in, a noble enuff venture, but the push is too hard, too fast. JL requires too much $ to make it good. sure, it will make money. heck, if it sucks i'd probably still buy a copy at walmart for ten bucks. a better investment is individual pics, even some with limited budgets to see audience reaction. spread the risk. a bad JL movie might tank other future movies for a long time. a bad flash movie can be redeemed (even if it takes a long time) but other can fill his place. but WB won't put enuff $ into a first pic (fear of bad ROI) and the movie will suffer. and other potential franchise characters will suffer.

Darkseid doesn't have to be done CGI, Michael Clark Duncan is absolutely perfect for the role, he's big enough and certainly mean enough.

Darkseid is the next logical choice for a Superman movie, it's time to take this weak and timid franchise to the next level and Darkseid is just the menace to do that.

It would be very simple to do, Darkseid wants earth for whatever reason and he decides to invade, what happens after that could be some of the most action packed exciting moments in any movie!

To me it's a no brainer.

Since Darkseid is at least 3 meters tall, a little CGI is inevitable. For the look, I personally love Michael Turner's Darkseid. Just make the suit black and it's perfect. And I agree that he should appear only in a FOURTH WORLD movie.

If I had to do Darkseid in a movie, I wouldn't have him be overcome by physical means. I'd have Superman find the Anti-Life equation (obviously it's inside Jason), and sacrifice his son to save the world.

How's that for biblical parallels?

Turner's Darkseid was a too pointy.

I'd go with the look in Death of the New Gods.

my idea

the Kryptonians(when they were still alive) de cover the Source witch is the Source of life in the universe
they also discover if someone fuses with the Source they gain omnipresence

believing no one should have this power they seal of the Source using the Source wall
the only way to unlock the Source wall is to use the anti life equation a very complicated Kryptonian math problem

after krypton exploded it's remains flouted into the source creating Apocalypse and new genesis

uxas the prince of Apocalypse murders his parents to gain there half of the anti life equation
when he uses it though instead of giving him omnipresence he becomes darkseid

realizing that Apocalypse only has half of the equation he attacks new genesis attempting to get the other half

realizing that he can not defeat new genesis without destroy there planet he looks for another way

he then finds out there one last Kryptonian(superman) alive

Darkseid should literally be THE most powerful being in the universe

If he's literally THE most powerful being in the universe, how would even the Justice League defeat him?

Ahahahaha. I'd do him from behind... Sorry! Sorry... I'm just really bored. I'll just... go away.

Good, :whatever:.

CGI or Michael Clark Duncan.

CGI OR Michael Clarke Duncan?

Even he isn't big enough for Darkseid, I'm afraid, not without CGI, as luca_frontino says.

I agree that he should appear only in a FOURTH WORLD movie.

I disagree. I in fact disagree with the very concept of a Fourth World movie. I don't see how such a concept could ever be commercially successful.

EDIT: Something I forgot to say, why has this thread not been merged with the Cast Darkseid thread? It would seem to make sense to me that he doesn't need two separate threads, especially as the people on this one talk about casting a lot.

I've made another New Gods thread, since the old one has disappeared.
We can discuss over his movie look.

Just the thought of Darkseid in the franchise is intriguing, but would probably be silly.

Movie goers are shipped to far off Chinese sweat shops.
