How would you have done the movie?

X-men Origins: Wolverine is out, and, as we all suspected, it's just a pale shadow of what it could have been. So, I come here to ask to Wolverine fans:

If you had complete criative control over it, how would YOU have done the movie?

I bet we have better ideas then them...

• I would have basically kept the main idea showing Wolverine throughout history fighting wars because I mean the core of the story itself was alright they just went about it the wrong way. I
• mprove dialogue,
• Take out Gambit because he only seemed there to make us fanboys say: "Damn there's Gambit". Gambit would better be used in a X-Men group film
• Take out Scott Summers and Emma Frost because they were unnecessary
• Not turn Wade into Barakapool.
• Make the climax Wolverine vs Sabertooth, Deadpool (mask and all), Agent Zero, and Silver Fox. Have Wolverine barely winning the fight having Deadpool and Sabertooth escape but Fox and Zero dead

Well, I probably wouldn't have,as the idea of a Wolverine Origin story is somewhat redudant seeing as the first three movies were all about him anyway

But I'd probably do a Wolverine origin story that, y'know, covered stuff we didn't already know about. With more blood. And cut out the pointless cameos

I wouldn't had focused on the origins of the jacket and so forth, i would have also had less mutants (compltely removing scott from this movie, he had no purpose here).

I would have had Ryan Reynolds shine more, i would have also made this movie PG-13 and with a lesser budget. I think i would have wanted to change the adamtatium bullet with something like a electricity weapon of some sorts, or have a mutant with the powers of erasing brain cells or something. >_> I also wouldn't had wanted Deadpool as Weapon XI but someone else or make a compltete character for the movie.

I also wouldn't had made Sabretooth as Wolverine's brother because Wolvie is suppose to be a loner, yet in the movie he never was alone until the very end, so thas just 15 years of loneliness unless he gets hooked up with an japan/asian girl and gets his son in this universe, but i doubt it.

Theres alot of things I woulda done with this movie, for example, I would have saved Gambit/ Taylor Kitsch for something bigger.

i would do a more low budget movie. 60-80 millions. maybe 90. the rating would be R. there would not be some epic action scenes where mutants are jumping around. it would be gritty and dark. and there would be blood.
i would maybe hane one mutant for a final battle.

More time spent on the Origin-scene.

More time spent on the wars.

Team X takes up a bulk of the movie. Team X is only Wraith, Deadpool, Wolverine, Sabretooth, Silverfox, Maverick, and Stryker.

Weapon X takes place at the very end.

To sum it up, make it an actual Wolverine origin film.

I didn't say I'd make The English Patient 2, I just said I'd have spent less time worrying about insane fancy action sequences and more time worrying about what actually makes movies good....story and character.

X2 had great action sequences nowhere near as huge as Wolverine's but it didn't forget about the characters, which is why it was good.

Focus on Wolverine and had cut the extra characters down to 3........didn'y they learn nothing from X-Men:The Last Stand.....all those freaking mutants and no story to follow-up with...

1. More time to develop characters. A half hour or fourty five minutes at least.
2. Devote more time to Gambit, of course.
3. Take out Blob (probably replace him with someone else), Emma and Bolt.
4. Some how, some way give Gambit a shirtless scene. Oh yeah, I know! Have him fight Wolvie shirtless. Yessss. That'll do nicely.
5. And Give him his freakin' normal eyes. Dagnabit, there was NO reason for it!!
6. And have him show his flirty side. No reason for that either.
7. And put back in the scenes of his they left out. (Hope they're on the dvd somewhere!!)
8. Oh, and last but not least, have him say some words in french to make him sound more Cajun and less southern. The accent was great and I liked it, but it felt so...lacking without a 'Mon ami' or something thrown in there. Not Gambit-ish enough.
9. Have Wolverine do something different at the end instead of just walk away without his memory. That was too depressing.
10. Put Cerebro and a Logan voice over in the beginning. I couldn't figure out what had been missing until someone pointed it out here. It would've been more appropriate for it then what they did.
11. Have Logan a bloody, freaked out mess after running out of Weapon X, like in the second movie. That was awesome. And what happened to the people drinking wine?

I think that's everything. The movie would've been nicer if all that had been done. I know, I'm a Gambit freak, but he was prettymuch my whole reason for seeing this movie.

I think the entire approach to this film started from a very flawed place, creatively.

So here's what I would have liked(in an ideal world);

This movie would have been a straight up adaption of the Origins comic(which I thought was pretty damn good), even though I have never been an X-Men or Wolverine fan.

That means the entire movie would have basically been a period piece set in the 1890's Canada. Not 1840's like this film, seriously Canada didn't even exist as a country at the time this film begins. I think they pushed the film's timeframe back 50 years in order to give up a 10 second shot of Wolverine fighting in the American Civil War, and for that one reason alone.

Anyway getting back to what I would have prefered, they then could have instilled this film with a creepy gothic vibe that I always felt was present in the comic. The Origins comic in many ways plays out like a Marvel mutantized version of the old Wolf-man story(and that is in no way a bad thing). They could have upped the drama and the hard PG-13 scenes to match the comic(which is still not R-rated material, or at least doesn't have to be).

That would have filled the whole film and they could have book-ended it with a cliffhanger type ending(like BB did w/ the Joker card) where we see Logan 80 or so years later when he first gets involved with the infamous Weapon X/Team X thing. Something simple like the shadowy gov't types looking at a picture of him and saying "He'll be perfect for the experiment. Aquire him."

Or something like that. I'm not too well versed in my Wolverine lore but wasn't he an unwilling subject of the Weapon X project?

Anyway, Weapon X could have basically been the sequel.

I haven't actually seen the movie yet (I'm waiting for DVD, I prefer watching films at home), but I have a pretty good idea of what happens (my friends gave me a pretty thorough run-down).

-More focus spent on his origin and the wars. I was told that his origin leading up the Weapon X bit was dealt with in like, five minutes? I'd definitely expand on that, I'd like to show the more brutal and horrifying side of war. I played the Wolverine demo earlier, that was very fun and gory. I'd make these scenes pretty gory, but in a sickening way... cause it's war.

-Drop Gambit. I don't think there was any real reason he's in the movie, is there?

-Do Wade Wilson/Deadpool some justice. I think Ryan Reynolds is perfect for the character, though I don't like the sound of what they do with him at the end, though does this secret post-credits ending rectify it?

-I think Hugh Jackman is perfect, and I really want to see the far more brutal side of Wolverine. There was this flashback scene in X2 with him looking at the claws, and screaming, right? Is that in the movie? Cause I would definitely have that, just have him go insane in that scene and murder everyone and escape. Imagine if that's how Wolverine ended, with the procedure destroying his memories, him flipping out and just vanishing into the world. Sabertooth murders Silver Fox, Logan comes back for vengeance, the procedure ruins him, and he escapes. Drop the plot with the captured mutants and Cyclops altogether. The second hour of the film would be the missions that Logan embarks on, Victor going rogue because he no longer wishes to follow any sort of Rules of Engagement, ruining his rival's life, and Logan basically being destroyed by the procedure.

Does any of this make sense? I think I'm just rambling.

1. make it dark and gritty like the weapon x flashbacks from x-2 i wanted that tone.

2. get rid of blob/emma/cyclops/ - they are severely under developed and just take up time

3.make it more serious and realistic did not need or want fancy stylized

4. make the movie longer 1:45 minutes is just too short

5. spend more time on certain stuff like - weaponx program/the team on there missions

6.the action should be more brutal and not so cool and fancy looking

7.show some blood you can do that in pg13

8.for the love of god let Logan be like an animal and not just say he is an animal remember wolverine from the cage fight and sabertooth brawl in the snow thats the wolverine we should of got instead we got xmen 3 wolverine

this movie should of been on the level of batman begins instead it was on the level on Hulk(2003)

could of been 8/10 instead it was a 6/10

I thought they did right by him. Eventhough he didn't get a lot of screentime, he was at least treated well. Everyone has thier opinions, that's mine and I'm sticking to it.
