How would you say your hype and anticpation level is for this years DC/WB summer comic book movie release SR compared to last years BB ?

I was incredibly hyped for Batman Begins from the get-go. I can still remember shouting "Holy ****, no way!" when they announced Bale (my personal pick) as Batman. I cheered when I heard they got Caine for Alfred... it was just all-around aweome.
While I am excited to see Superman on the big screen again, I don't know if I agree with the concept of basically making another Superman III. And SPacey looks like he's trying to channel (the awful) Gene Hackman in the trailers, so I'm just... scared. Tentative.

Never cared much about Superman. For some reason I just think he's a boring superhero. So, obviously, Batman Begins

Awful? Gene Hackman?

Words don't go together.

Sure, if you don't like the way he played it, no problem - but that doesn't make him awful.

I don't think Hackman was awful at all. He was just saddled with Otis for comic relief and it took a lot of his menace away. Hopefully Singer used some restraint with Spacey's Lex when it comes to his crew.

As for the original question. I was looking forward to Batman Begins more because of the great cast and ever since I saw Equilibrium I also thought Christian Bale would make a great Bruce Wayne/Batman. To my surprise, he was actually chosen.

As I said:

"Batman Begins" ignored the GREAT Tim Burton films.

"Superman Returns" follows the GREAT Richard Donner films, starting where part 2 left off.

Thus, SR is the better movie.

A shame they couldn't get Gene Hackman back.

I wasn't hyped for BB at all since I had no idea what to expect. When I saw it I was just shocked. I am very hyped for SR, though. Hopefully it will deliver.

I usually love Hackman, but he butchered Lex for me. I can hardly stand watching his scenes.

I dunno. In the novelization (what I've read of it so far) his goons are pretty corny. :(

It's a relaunching of the franchise. Of course they weren't going to do anything with the Burton films. Don't get me wrong, I like the Burton films, but they were all about the villains. Batman hardly got do actually do anything.

I'm more hyped for Superman, just because it's been soooo long since there was a good superman movie...not since Superman 2 :o

I'd say it's about equal in my mind. I was hyped to see a new Batman movie done right, and I'm hyped to see a new Supes movie. My pants will be down and nachos in my hand just the same.

I was not hyped AT ALL about BB. Too many Batman movies in the 90's. I was happy, but not hyped

There haven't been a GOOD Superman movie since 1982!. That's 25 years!

And I've never experienced a Superman movie at the theater ever. This will be my very first time.

Of course, Superman Returns

SR could be a better movie but in regards to the question, I'm more of a Batman fan so I was more psyched for BB.

well obviously from my avvy im more of a Superman fan, but i was way more hyped for BB since i loved just about everything about the film: production casting, plot, everything. ironically its the opposite for SR, the only real motivating factor for me to go see it is Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor.

Thats ridiculous

I was way more hyped for Batman Begins. I mean why should I be excited for a movie that looks like a complete rehash of a movie I didn't even like?

More Hyped for SR but thats porbably bbecause I'm a biger fan of Superman than Batman

I stayed away from the hype of Batman and doing the same with Superman. That's not to say I don't want to see the movie, I saw Batman opening and I'll see Supes opening day, but both are/will be approaching with cautious optimism and with as little information as possible. Got to caught up in the hype of comic movies before this and it somewhat detracted from my enjoyment of them, so I try to stay away from and not get caught up in the hype as much as possible.

it's a board not thread and you can;t stick it in an indivdual one because it's a poll between two movies thus it needs a neutral place but keep up i smell a banning coming

is Fettastic asking for trouble? I guess he/she doesn't care. Neither should we.

I've never really been a fan of Batman or Supes but I'd have to say I'm probably more hyped for Superman than I was for Batman.

Excuse me, could you repeat that?

I thought I had something crazy in my ear.
