We can safely put to rest those DOFP Is hugh's last appearance as Wolverine reports.

I also think this puts an end to reboot of Series talk. You don't have star of series do another film If your rebooting. No matter what happens at end of DOFP this says they
aren't done with OT cast.

Man, Jackman really loves playing Logan, doesn't he? :D He's always been very enthusiastic about it.

Wolverine 3 should be set in Russia, Yukio NEEDS to return, and the villains should be Omega Red and Spiral.

Don't remember who Spiral is but hell yes to Omega Red!!

I love that Mangold is returning, he did a fantastic job with The Wolverine. I know people are getting sick of Wolverine but this is a solo film and not another X-men film where he takes up a lot of screentime over the rest of the cast. Bring it on!

Agreed, Mangold did a fantastic job. And giving Logan more solo films is a great way to keep him relevant but not taking up the screen time of the other X-Men. Be a good way fixing that issue with fans.

personally i think logan has been explored in 5 soon to be 6 movies to the point that the only way they can explore him more is to repeat themselves

Exactly. I'm excited to hear what the story is going to be about.

If they use Omega Red...I don't care. :funny:

Agreed. As long as they keep doing the team films -and despite all the doomsaying on here, we're hearing DOFP is fantastic - I don't see a problem.

I wasn't so sure we'd see a sequel to this, but I'm beyond psyched that it appears to be happening.

Although I do agree just a little with the fans that are tired of Logan taking up so much screentime in the X-men films, I love Jackman so I'm not necessarily annoyed by it.

I can't wait to get The Wolverine on Blu-ray. I was only able to catch it once in the theater.

Well, giving him his own solo movie frees up more space for other characters in the X-Men proper movies.

Agreed. If the only plan was Wolverine spinoffs, it would be ridiculous. But as part of a whole X-Men movie universe? I'm all for it.

I saw The Wolverine four times, I can't wait for the blu-ray.

Four? :cmad::oldrazz: I wish I could have gone at least a second time.

I'm excited to see how much they extended that fight scene with the ninjas in the third act, that was fairly short in the theatrical version and it definitely could have been a few minutes longer.

If Wolverine is getting another solo movie, I wonder if that means that he's less likely to be a full-on member of X-Force in the upcoming movie? I can see him making some kind of appearance, but perhaps not actually being on the team. Also, if Jackman does decide to step away from the role, then capping things off with a finale Wolverine trilogy film could be a fitting way to do it. Also, the cinematography in TW was freaking GORGEOUS. If Russia could look half as good as Austra...I mean Japan, then a third film would be very pretty to look at at least.

i dunno if i believe that giving logan his own film again will mean he wont be in another X-men film

Fox just wants their cake and eat it

I didn't say that he wouldn't appear, simply that he might not be a main character. Maybe the team encounters him at some point in the film.

I'll be the first to admit that another Wolverine movie, even with Mr.Mangold at the helm, isn't exactly needed.

I will also be the first to go see that movie in question. Hoping it works out.

  3. I suck at copypasting twitter. Anyway, you get the point.

No movie, and especially no sequel, is really NEEDED. They make them because they want to, or the previous film was successful, or a number of other factors.

Yep, four. Thank god I'm not obsessed or anything. :oldrazz:

I can't wait for that either! There was a lot more to that fight we could see just from the b-roll video, and an EW article a few months back mentioned being on set watching Hugh get dragged around in a net from the back of a motorcycle. It seems like most of that sequence is missing from the theatrical cut.

You know guys how its easy to say that Jackman was always going to return as Wolvie? He's keeping shape, he ain't letting it go. Doing it from scratch would be a massive drag at his age so he's holding on to it, BECAUSE there are more films for him in the future.

And with these kind of deals, they are never solitary deals. They always include clauses for another option. So I stand by my belief that after DOFP, we will see Jackman atleast twice more as Wolverine.

And this time will someone please listen, this time Mangold and Jackman, right from the scripting stages, should always envision the R version. And iinclude scenes and dialogues accordingly. They can shoot the scenes twice like on The Wolverine they shot the scenes twice, once speaking Japanese and once English.

That way we will get a true blue R movie.

I think people are kidding themselves if they think that solo Wolverine movies mean that he won't hog the spotlight in team films.

Happy with Mangold's back, wish he made Origins and really good Weapon X story, but we got Hood.
Hope for good story in Wolverine 3, and hope it's not Old Man Logan yet, too early for this.
Dolph Lundgren for Omega Red!
