exactly.

It makes sense. And at the end of the day, Fox would make NOISE putting Wolverine (and the X-Men) in their costumes, so.... if they want a bigger boxoffice, and fans support, they better do it.

Wait did they show the whole thing, instead of just that shot of the mask and gloves in the box?

There's something to the left of the mask, which is presumably the rest of the suit.

That's all you see in that scene. They didn't have that when they filmed it because it wasn't designed yet. They inserted the shot of the suit in the box later.

The scene has Wolverine opening the box on the plane, giving Yukio a sort of bemused/interested/what the hell?-type look, to which she just smiles and says "Interesting!" Which is what she said in the original ending, only that time it was in response to Wolverine not saying where they were going to go when the plane took off.

Yeah, I doubt that most people in the GA care if they're wearing their comic book costumes or not. Simply putting them in those costume wouldn't change the box office numbers in any significant way. The only people who really complain about it are CB fans, and not even ALL fans (just some), and they make up a tiny part of the audience for these films. Also, the X-Men have had MANY different costumes over the years. So saying that they should have their "comic book costumes" inevitably leads to the question of "which ones?"

Well this whole time Yukio tells him hes a soldier and hes realized it at the end. Maybe he thinks it'd be cool to wear a costume for a change. Embracing his heroness
Then give him his X-Force costume, or even the black and orange one, just not the yellow and blue one. Also, ditch the mask, he doesn't need it.

ditch the mask, he doesn't need it
+ 1 000 000!

He can wear it for one scene, laugh, and that's it. He's not Batman to hide his face, also has adamantium skull. Would look ridiculous when fight in this mask.
Not everything from comic fit at big screen. I want Logan, not clown.

It looks pretty badass there. Gotta skip to around 2:30. He could wear a black mask like that for any number of reasons. Maybe he wants to instill fear the same way Batman does? He could wear it in a scene where he breaks into some high tech facility and doesn't want to show his face?

I want superheroes, not people in black leather or blue jeans.

Blue jeans and white tank-top is the worst outfit for him. It looks so ugly, it's another reason that last act was so bad. That mask in the video would look find like I said, he could wear it for a number of reasons.

I have to agree - I feel like the mask is unnecessary, but the rest of the suit would be fun as long as they tone down the colors and it doesn't look like cheap spandex.

They are giving him outfit In DOFP future scenes which looks similar to his X-force outfit. And since magneto In 1973 wearing an outfit during climax the question Is In past will they
put wolverine In outfit even If it Is a first Class uniform.

His costume in DOFP looks pretty good.

Maybe you should watch again, I saw a superhero.
Mask doesn't make him superhero. Who he is and what he does makes him superhero.

I don't have to watch anything again, pal. There's nothing "clownish" about wearing a costume. Singer pulled that whining crap in 2000 and we're still getting black leather costumes shoved down our throats. :whatever: People need to stop being embarrassed by the source material already.

Folks...there's no need to get testy with each other over this. Settle down, please.

Black costumes fits for 2000's, look at Hawkeye, Falcon and Black Widow, even Cap costume is darker now. Ironman is in armor and Asgardians are cosmic, so I don't count them.
I said mask is ,,clownish", not the whole costume.

its not clownish in that vid I posted. It looks badass. What's wrong with him using the mask to look scary?

Because he doesn't need to and we've seen ZERO indication that he's the type of person who would bother with something like that. Plus, that mask is not scary, just goofy.

I dont see the big problem with it, if Captain America can make it work in two films I'm sure the Wolverine can too.

Maybe not this particular one but a variation of it. People except a man dressed as a bat in a film. It all comes down to how it handled and with the right talent it can work fine.

My nephew, who's 5, saw a few minutes of The Wolverine when his folks were watching it last week. He knows Wolverine from some of the toys and Superhero Squad cartoons, but he's never seen the movie version before.

He told me, "I saw the Wolverine movie! But he didn't wear his costume." :oldrazz:

You see, when I was kid, I wanted color costume too. Now I understand it fit to cartoon, comic, but not for present times movie.
Cap was in WWII, 70 years ago, and in Avengers he wears it just because to mobilize rest of the team. Now he has dark blue costume.
Wolverine can run in yellow in 70's, but please no mask.

You don't think this could work ?

And would it have been interesting if in DOFP they allude to Yukio's vision of Wolverine dying? Like, in order to bring Wolverine back to the present to finish the whole time travel procedure they need to sever his connection by killing him or something and Kitty has to phase through his body and pull his heart out. Or Rogue with Kitty's powers.

Now that I think about it, why do they need to keep Logan in the time travel trance for so long if the past is the past and already happened? Like, the second he goes back in time everything should be altered.

Logan with painted eyes?
He's not Indian.
At first, what would be the reason for him to wear mask?

I dunno, sneaking into a government building with lots of security cameras maybe. "Anonymity is a mutant's first chance at blah blah" - Xavier
