Now that Marvel is getting there **** together by relaunching The Hulk and actually creating a film universe by tyeing their films together with cameos, I think it's only fitting they relaunch the other god awful movies under there belt, and reintroduce them into this wonderful new Marvel film universe

Two films that NEED to be relaunched: Fantastic 4 and Daredevil.

My suggestion to Marvel:

Fantastic 4 : (Insert sequel title here)
Recast everyone. Especially Doom. I want to see Doom balls to the wall like the bad ass he is, displaying his near omnipotent power and superior intellect, The whole while with the nation of Latveria behind his back a few hundred thousand Doombots at his disposal.
Who better to play Doom than Gerard Butler? He has it all, the build, the voice and the acting chops.
For the F4 I would go with Hugh Laurie (Reed Richards), Rachel McAdams (Sue Richards) Ron Pearlman (Thing) and Ryan Gosling (Torch)

Frank Millers Daredevil

Written and directed by Frank Miller and Kevin Smith...

Again, Marvel studios doesn't have the right to the Fantastic Four. I *believe* they got the Daredevil rights back, but even then they're going to wait to see how TIH does before even considering committing to that, and there won't be a spot open for it until 2012.

Doesn't hurt to dream, odiin :oldrazz:

Kevin Smith will never do a superhero movie. He is too lazy.

Miller has too much on his plate already. He's got Spirit now, and then Sin City 2 (if everything gets back on track with it) immediatly after.

Keep Miller away from this. He's not only an unproven director but his comic work has been embarressing for years. I doubt he'll suddenly go back to his old form once he's given a DD movie to work with.

Smith's DD comics were good but his film making is very narrow. All he does is make roamntic comedies and stoner movies with his friends to hang around on set with. He couldn't even write a good Green Hornet script without him getting bored with the action and wanting to only do scenes where Kato and GR hang out off-duty like Jay and Silent Bob.

This needs to be given the Nolan Batman treatment. Very serious, realistic and R-rated.

Nolan Batman is R rated?

Everyone talks about rights but I aways think, "So?".

If Iron Man and others makes alot of money, I'm sure the rights could be bought back at a profit to the owners.

Yeah, no... Fox isn't going to part with them until they have to, and you really think a new movie studio with only one released film flashing their wallet at Fox, one of the biggest film studios in the world, is going to impress them?

Fantastic Four seriously needs a restart. I really hope we get one, once Marvel gets their rights back.

No lame organic metal Doom. I want a Doom that has armor that rivals Iron Man's. With technology that makes even Stark Enterprises looks like childs play.

As for the FF, I'd probably keep everyone except Alba. We need a strong leading female, with motherly vibe that actually fits the part and doesn't look like she jumped out of the Movie White Chicks. Thing needs to be CGI and I want to actually see him brawl and not have the fight take place in a garbage truck.

Nolan Batman is R rated?

No, but I'd like DD's films to be.

Nathan:

Hollywood is full of good replacements for Alba. Poppy Montgomery, Naomi Watts, Charlize Theron.

Other multi-million dollar corporations do this sort of business all the time. It's not like Marvel couldn't sue their way into a settlement if they really wanted one.

Sports franchises exchange naming rights for stadiums. Often times altering or buying out contracts. This isn't that much more different.

Anyway, right now they might be losing money on their original investment. Bailing out and getting some cash isn't always a bad idea.

:doom: :doom: :doom:

Nice. I'd pick every single one of them over Alba.

I don't dislike her, but she just never was Susan Storm material.

What would they possibly sue for? "We sold off the rights to our characters to you, how DARE we do such a thing?? We're going to sue you for our actions!" besides, Marvel Studios already has plenty of characters to use and a full schedule, by the time there would even be an opening for Fantastic Four the rights would have already reverted back to them anyway. They're not going to waste time and money over the Fantastic Four when they've got several big money makers at their disposal as it is.

Well it's not just FF I was talking about, but I know what ya mean. As for legal suits, that's just a hello. They can come up with "no confidence" clauses and ********. It doesn't matter . Corps do this crap all the time just to get them to negotiate. The goal is the property at a cost and profit that is right for everyone.

As for why well that's because they want to incorporate their properties so that their is an artistic integrity to the existing intellectual rights.

And because that would be good for business.

As for the FF in particular... come on. You can't have the 616 without Reed in the Atomic Knights of the Roundtable. And let's not forget Doom and the Silver Surfer and Galactus.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

But.. this isn't the 616, this is the Marvel Film Universe. It's totally different.

So you're saying that the Marvel Film Universe wouldn't benefit from all those mags not owned by Marvel at present?

That's the Avenger's Film Universe... not Marvel.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

Doesn't matter, they have tons of characters they can use as-is and they wouldn't have time to do movies for every character anyway. They're booked up until 2012 as it is.

I think Daredevil really needs a re-start. If done correctly, a Daredevil film could be great.

no offense but Daredevil doesn't even need redone... the directors cut was just as daredevil should be. It's a sequel that needs to be made, and elektra is the one that needs the reboot

But a sequel clearly ISN'T going to be made, most of the cast wants nothing to do with the film, and the public isn't really clamoring for it either. If a new DD film is made it is going to be a reboot.

we've heard nothing from ben and jenn post marriage. fox is afraid to touch it with the idea of a "married couple" due to the ben and original jenn fiasco Gili (or however you spell it. Ben and Jenn met on the set.. and both have expressed love for there characters. and i have no doubt in my mind they would come back if there was good writing. Ben has even stated he'd do it if Kevin directed.. but Kevin is being a lazy ass.

DD in no way shape or form needs a reboot, a recasted sequel if anything. no need to do a reboot.

Spidey:

Smith is a good director but he'd be awful for a DD film.

It's to bad Garner won't be back. She was a great Elektra IMO.
