The Avengers Hulk Vs Thor - The Movie Edition

Movie Thor can't dimension jump on his own in any case. He could in theory lay the hammer on Hulks chest if he gets him laid out, then the fights effectively over.

Wouldn't be much fun to end it like that, but based on the movie versions feats that would work against the Hulk.

That worked on Loki because 1) Loki isn't worthy an 2) Loki has limited strength.

The Hulk isn't worthy and can't lift Thor's hammer at first but "madder Hulk get" will eventually enable Hulk to lift Mjölnir.

i kinda liked the scene in Ultimate Avengers where Hulk picks up Thor's Hammer and hurls it at him i hope we can see something similar like that

But no matter how angry or strong hulk gets, if he isnt worthy he still cant lift the hammer. right?

By now all of you saw what Thor did to the Destoryer. Thor could mop the ground with the Hulk at will. However because Thor values all life. ( He Destoryed the Bridge in order to prevent the destruction of the Frost Gaints Homeworld.) Thor has always held back his full might when confronting the Hulk, Thor knows and senses that a innocent being is trapped inside the Hulks monsterous body, that is why Thor never fully unleashes his full might against the Hulk making it seem the Hulk has a chance with Thor when in reality, he stands no chance.

The Hulk has seemly unlimited strength, the madder he gets the stronger he gets.....however Thor has the power of a Star in his hammer, and I really dont believe that thor himself has ever used his full might.

I think In order to save Banner Thor will hold back against the Hulk.

Oh god no, that was that "Ultimate" crap, this is 616 Thor were dealing with here.

That makes absolutely no sense.

None whatsoever

It's still stupid even if there is precedent for it.

No matter how strong hulk gets he shouldn't be able to lift Mjölnir, unless he's deemed worthy, the magic of the hammer can't be overcome by strength. Now, with the hammer on his chest hulk won't be able to lift it off, however, he can break the ground surrounding him, allowing him to move free.

So when do any Thor fans think Hulk fans will eventually acknowledge that the enchantment on Mjolnir has absolutely NOTHING to do with mass, weight, strength etc thereby overriding Hulk's schtick?

Personally, I'd love a scene where Hulk tries to lift it for hours, days even. Gets so angry that just his frown could make the Living Tribunal change it's mind.

The next scene, he's lying on a sofa and a shrink is telling him that lots of men suffer from not being able to get it up :woot:

That would make my day.

I'd love to see Thor win this fight, honestly.

Either way, the fact that we'll probably get this fight is rewarding enough. I'll never forget when Fox had Juggernaut and Collossus in the same movie and didnt have them throw down.

In the Canon 616 universe, Hulk has never been able to lift the Hammer

Uh, yeah...he can.

Understand that that was a cartoon, simply based (loosely) on an alternate take on the character. As far as I'm concerned, (and in the estimation of any long time fans) it is not cannon. Like Hulk getting beaten by the Batman. I could show you the comic, but it really never happened. The movies, character-wise, are mostly culling from the 616. Mjolnirs enchantment clearly states that only those who are "WORTHY" may lift it. Hulk has NEVER been able to lift that hammer, the same way the Hulk has NEVER devoured human flesh.
Out of the entire currently known cast of Avengers, Rogers is the only one with a healthy chance of being able to lift the Uru Mallet. Hulk actually lifting it? Not likely.

The Hulk cannot lift Mjolnir in the 616 books and I have seen nothing in the films to suggest his movie counterpart should be any different.

That being said Odin's worthiness enchantment may not have the same magic rules as the books, seeing as they played down the 'magic' angle in Thor favouring more of a super-science approach.

So in theory they could have Hulk get mad enough to overcome the hammer without it violating established movie rules (he won't gain the power of Thor after all, just be able to shift the thing). However, I really hope they don't go that route. Might be cool for the more fervent Hulk fans to see but I'd think it cooler to see Marvel's strongest failing to even shift the hammer at all. Would really convey just how special the thing really is, and how big a deal it is to be found worthy enough to wield it (ie: If movie Cap lifts it for example).
