Hulk looks super pissed off in the new footage. Looking at the background it seems to be when Thanos and his crew wreck the spaceship and kill all of those asgardians... It's gonna be an intense scene.

Yea my wife was a big fan of korg hope lives too. I’m actually scared corn Hulk and Thor. I know they won’t die this early but the beating is gonna be brutal.

That gif is almost a mirror image of the one when Hulk faced Fenris. And while the one in Ragnarok was more of a pissed of scream at Fenris to "measure up" to him... The one in IW seems angrier, more desperate in a way, almost like Hulk is reacting to what happen to everyone...

Yeah while it is important that Thanos's threat is clearly established by showing two Avengers powerhouses completely worfing against him I feel less so about that with the Black Order. At the end of the day they're henchmen and one of their most iconic moments was Dwarf getting sent back home in disgrace when he tried to assault Wakanda. So without daddy to protect them I would hope that we'd get a great action scene of Thor and Hulk fighting *together* and actually giving the Order a very hard time until Thanos comes and slaps Thor into space.

Also yes HammerDown, hypotheticals usually carry lots of "ifs". That's kind of the point.

Sure Black Dwarf got owned but so did Hulk who was powerless against Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight. CG was taunting Hulk and PM made him transform into Banner again.

I suspect any moment like this is going to their attack on Vision. It does in fact seem like Corvus and Proxima will pin Vision down in a way much like that, however I suspect MCU Proxima's weapon won't have the weight of a star going for it. Plus we got Maw tackling Strange. These will be their moments to shine.

But I want the opening to go from a nice hurrah as Thor and friends hold off these guys pretty nicely, to a horrific tonal switch to despair when the big guy steps in.

Also neither Thor or Hulk or even both can face against Thanos with the power stone.
In a way i kind of expect something similar to this in the beginning of IW. And the 2 powerhouses will still have to cope with the Black Order too. So both Thor and Hulk are going to get wrecked at the start of IW.

I just wonder though, if Thor too can't even scratch Thanos while Thanos only has two stones, then what good is Stormbreaker for a rematch later on when Thanos has more of the stones? I kind of fear that Thor's whole quest in this movie might be a waste of time if Stormbreaker has no very special role in the finale.

Also I'm betting right now that Hulk only shows up to get beaten by Thanos, and then to fight Outriders for like 20 seconds of screentime while Cap and friends intercept Thanos. Not expecting any feats at all here.

If the Russos come out and say that Thor has a very important story arc I don't see any reason to assume they are lying and he'll end up being irrelevant. I've never seen them lying before, they just don't tell us things when we are supposed to be kept in the dark.

I don't expect Hulk to be irrelevant either. I think him busting out of the Hulkbuster will be a big moment in the battle, and about what's to come after that I have no idea in any direction, but I don't think he'll be wasted.

How Thanos will be beaten is something that's extremely hard to speculate on though. He'll be so powerful that it will have to be through plot device.

1 on 1 nobody has a chance against Thanos. It will have to be a huge team effort from everyone. Even with Stormbreaker Thor won't go head to head alone against Thanos... But in a big battle scenario where Thanos is distracted maybe Thor can come in and use his new powerful weapon to cause crucial damage to Thanos or the gauntlet for example.

Stormbreaker will be the most powerful weapon of all the heroes. There is a big side quest of Thor getting a new weapon so that same weapon should have a specific role to play in the bigger scheme of things. Like mjolnir had a big role to play in the Avengers and in Age of Ultron. Since now Thor can channel himself lighting, this new weapon will give him a sharp and blunt weapon to do whatever it needs to be done.

Hulk will show up in the beginning of IW and in the end. I would say both roles will payout like this... 70% for Banner and 30% of Hulk. In terms of feats we shall see, there's plenty of time for Hulk to show some impressive stuff.

It could be. Or she is at least seriously injured.

Here is the moment i think Hulk changes his emotions from sad to angry. I feel that something is going on at this moment... he looks like he is leaning forward and down looking at something or someone. One can see by his hole body movement, the way he tenses up, arms, head... It goes from a somewhat relaxed state to one of incredible anger.

I am trying to find the best gif possible but there aren't many of that moment. We gotta catch the hole moment from start to finish and hopefully with good quality in order to have a better idea. If someone can find something or even do a solid gif would be great.

Or maybe i am just imagining things and it's just Hulk being angry.

Compare those to the first movie and it’s amazing how much better they’ve made him look.

So have we picked up on any design differences on him between Ragnarok and this? He still has the short hair, but it does look like a bit of an evolution somehow too, not sure on what it is. Like the differences between Avengers and AoU, same in the big picture but with some subtle nuance stuff going on.

Yeah he looks SUPER pissed off in the IW version. The Ragnorak one was more of a 'come at me' type scream.

I don't think Hulk gets defeated here in IW, I think he somehow gets fired off of the ship and too earth.

Hulk was only powerless though as PM put the weight of a star on Hulk. He did well just not to get crushed and flattened on the floor. The fact that he was still able to be on his knees is a damn good feat in itself, but it meant that Hulk literally couldn't fight back.
