It's about damn time that Hulk will be seen as a the global menace he's supposed to be.
When has he not been regarded as a major threat? Every other arc in Bruce Jones' run, which wasn't that long ago, featured the Hulk demolishing some city and having to run to another one. The mere mention of his name is still enough to terrify people into considering drastic measures like shooting him off into space. I've never noticed a lack of respect for the Hulk's power in the comics.

In fact, "Maestro" is the correct spelling.
:o Oooops!

But if you check my second sentence in the post whcih you didn't quote, I did spell it right.

Except when he fights Spider-Man. :o

The last Spider-Man/Hulk fight I recall ended with Spider-Man's fists broken and bloody and the Hulk just leaving peacefully because Spider-Man mentioned his wife.

I know, which is why I didn't quote that one. It's more fun that way. :p

Actually, recently, Spider-Man KO'd the Hulk....... with a big truck falling on Hulk. So, if I understand things correctly, Hulk survives nukes, but a truck......

Corp, if you check my sentence in the second sentence you quoted of mine above, you'll find I also spelled 'which' wrong. :o

I think I need to log off for the night. :(

When did Spider-Man knock the Hulk out with a truck? That's just bad writing and/or drawing. :o

Indeed. Hulk always gets screwed in crossovers. Like the Sentry issue with Hulk in it where he talks like a mentally challenged kid and gets his ass kicked by the void.

I'm pretty sure that Civil War will be wrapped up by the time Hulk returns in a year.

It will definately be great to see Hulk smash everyone that I don't like and even some of the people that I do like.

They've established that something about the Sentry's solar-based powers calms the Hulk and lets his more childish side out. And everyone gets their ass kicked by the Void except the Sentry. That's the entire point of the Void.

Also, I've rarely seen Hulk get screwed in crossovers. He crosses over with Thor and hands Thor his ass more often than not. He crosses over with Gladiator and hands Gladiator his ass. He crosses over with Hercules and hands Hercules his ass. Hell, he even came closer than anyone short of the Celestials to actually beating the Destroyer in a straight-up fight! Everyone's got their weird, inexplicable losses. I don't think that's really hindered the perception of the Hulk as an unquestionable badass, though.

Well in any case, the planet hulk story is very well done: I just have my doubts as to how good his return to Earth will be. I do not see Marvel turning him into a true villain (the Maestro was in an alternate timeline and only present when the Hulk was if we ignore the What If's) given that they suggest the movie sequel will be in 2008, and therefore there is going to be something which will necessarily calm him down before any irreperable damage is caused.

After planet Hulk ends.I have a feeling one of the big events of Summer of 2007 will deal with Hulk getting Revenge on the people that thrust him in space

Yeah! Destroy humanity! Eliminate Earth's Biggest Stain!

As for Sentry and the void, I wasn't too happy about it like some others have said, but hey, we're not always gonna get things served to us on a gold platter in regards to our fav hero's.

And I was really only joking about the Spider-Man thing, yes, the truck did actually fall on Hulk and ko him, but aside that loss, Spider-Man is really only a 'bug' to the Hulk.

As for Sentry, I was wondering if he ever fought Thor? If so, what happened?

The Sentry and Thor haven't fought as far as I know, but I'd have to agree, the Sentry would kick Thor's ass, even on a bad day. Jenkins wrote an explanation for the Sentry's inconsistent power level into the last issue of the mini-series--apparently the Sentry's emotions affects his power level directly. If someone shatters his confidence, he'll lose power. He seems to have super-speed, though, which means Thor would probably lose when you factor in all of Sentry's other powers on top of that.

Haha, I just watched that movie today. The "Dare to be Stupid" chase sequence is still badass. :D

I hope the Hulk kicks at least Iron Man's ass. Someone needs to take that bastard down a peg.

No kidding, he getting more arrogant now and he needs to remember that hes nothing without the armor.

The way i see it hulk hands everyone in their asses is because he rightfully can! That garbage with Sentry and the void is ridiculous.
almost every bone in his body? wtf!?
. I've seen hulk take numerous beatings and nearly incineration but, the void incident I can't accept. Afraid or not hulk is hulk and hulk smash.

I've been getting back into the Hulk recently, really enjoying what's going on now (though I forgot todays issue when I was at the store!). I'm just curious as to what's going on with Banner? seems like Hulk hasn't reverted back since he's been on that planet.

Oh and I think when Hulk does come back he's gonna come back in a big way, they're gonna try and make his book one of the big titles again. He'll seek revenge, and no body will get in his way.. well they might, but he'll just kick their butts.

[edit]

I think Caliber means Hulk will get a bit evil, the Maestro from within will come out.

That's been something I've been wondering about too. I believe that the more the Hulk fights, the more Banner is suppressed. Well what if at the end of Planet Hulk, Banner has becomes so suppressed because of the Hulk's constant gladitorial matches that he becomes absorbed into the Hulk completely, making it so that whatever humanity the Hulk had left completely buried.

And I agree that afterwards, Hulk essentially becomes the Conan the Barbarian of that Planet and, in order to tie-in Civil War with Annihilation, leads that interstellar army towards Earth (probably wreck some Kree and Shi'ar butt along the way) and start ransacking the planet. As far as he's concerned, it isn't just the Illuminati that betrayed him--the entire human race did.
