Human Target

Well that's one promo. LOL. All I got to say is, Lassie and Armand Assante better be in the season premiere.

They just cancelled Lonestar...and moving Lie to me from Wed. to Monday. Why are they sooooo intent on pushing Lie to Me and ignoring this show?

In the fallout of the Lone Star cancellation, Fox's drama Human Target will move from Fridays to Wednesdays, taking over the slot originally given to Lie To Me. Lie to Me was to premiere on Nov. 10 and run in the Wednesday 8 PM slot, leading into an one-hour Hell's Kitchen. But as the crime procedural was summoned yesterday to take over the Monday 9 PM period vacated by the cancelled Lone Star staring next week, Human Target will now take its place on Wednesdays. It will premiere Nov. 17. A two-hour Hell's Kitchen will air on Nov. 10. Instead of launching Human Target's second season this past Friday as first planned, Fox held back, airing a Human Target rerun instead, followed by the season debut of The Good Guys. The network will now run House repeats in the Friday 8 PM hour.

It sucks that we have to wait a little longer, but I'm glad that the show will be back on Wednesdays. Fridays was just asking for it to lose viewers.

This is good and honestly I'm relieved. The show actually did WELL on Wednesday and better than most of the new shows out there right now. Friday was a bad timeslot and I just hope last season's viewers come back for the show.

I also hope this means Fox TV will wake up and start PROMOTING season 2. But I will also probably watch the reruns because the show is that good.

Well, I mean, Lie to Me's a pretty good show too...

True. It's a solid concept, with the right actor to sell that concept. Tim Roth is perfectly cast for the show, 'cause he does have the personality for you to believe him as someone who could tell if a person were lying. He's good at balancing being casual with being obsessively inquisitive. And he's British. Let's be real!

To be fair, had the show been canceled, I wouldn't necessarily miss it. It does kind of feel like a "House/Bones" hybrid, but that seems to be what Fox is best at when it comes to their scripted dramas. They have medical dramas and police/forensic expert procedural shows that don't play 100% straight, like on the other networks. There's quirky humor, a more escapist slant, things like that to cut the serious elements.

Lone Star honestly was not FOX show. It was an FX show that at least could have gotten a whole season on that network, and would not have been nearly as demanding in terms of the numbers of viewers it would have needed to stay on the air. Hell, I can only think of one or two scripted dramas FX has canceled after only one season. Even The Riches got like two-thirds of a season order for season two.

Tim Roth totally sells Lie to Me. I firmly believe that, while I might have a passing interest in the concept, I wouldn't have stuck around past the first couple episodes if not for him. It's a pretty standard procedural show with Roth's scene-stealing monster of a performance raising it well above the interest its core concept would normall warrant.

Actually, it's kind of like Human Target. I don't think any of us would be as interested if it weren't for the fantastic performances of McBride, Haley, and Valley.

Both shows are perfectly cast. And Lie To Me had some fantastic episodes this past season. I'm glad both shows got renewed. And I'm very happy to see Human Target returning to Wednesday. It's only competition is Undercovers, and I'll gladly watch HT over it, even if I have to wait until November.

Well I love the cast for Human Target. Mark Valley makes that role. But other part of it to me is that it's a really great pure action/adventure show. Like every episode feels like a cool movie done as a TV episode. We don't see many shows like this anymore. But if it was a lesser or cooler actor in the role, I wouldn't care as much probably.

MORE GOOD NEWS! Deadline.com reports that Fox ordered 2 more scripts for this season.

After deciding that I'd lagged enough on too many shows I like, I decided to get my Hulu on the other day. Pleasant surprise seeing this thing moved away from Friday nights.

Wound up watching Baptiste again.

Hope we get to see more of Baptiste in the new 13-15. He's one of my favorite characters in the show.

I think its great Jackie Earle Haley is in this show too. I hope he ever doesn't get phased or written out.

That's great news!

I'm trying to find online the 30 commercials that Fox has been airing, but no luck :(

Check out the origin of "Dude" :awesome:

Potentially good news for Human Target.

NBC will not be picking Undercovers up for a full season, which airs in Human Target's timeslot. This could mean less competition for HT when it comes back in two weeks.

Holy crap. Human Target is back in less than TWO WEEKS!!! :awesome:

I can hardly believe it. Sort of weird when we thought it was premiering a while ago. But it's gotten a good push so far. I just hope season 2 works out and the changes don't seriously work the show.

I'd have been more concerned had Undercovers ever been a strong ratings producer, but unfortunately it wasn't. A shame, 'cause I actually enjoyed the show. It was simple and direct, and fun. Too many shows feel the need to give their characters' so much baggage, it's exhausting to watch their lives play out.

I watched Law & Order SVU last night, and it's the first time I've genuinely felt like the show has jumped the shark. I still love the show, but it's long-since devolved into Moody Misadventures of a Rape Victim's Cop Daughter Which had another thrilling episode last night where Olivia got her head so wrapped up in a 35 year-old rape case, that she momentarily believed that the rape victim's tatted-up, on/off junkie daughter could be her half-sister. Bear in mind, Olivia's already got a half-brother, courtesy of "Papa Rape-enstein", with his own issues. When this new chick's mother's rapist ends up dead, the SVU folks try and track her down, but find her son alone in their building, with a note [BLACKOUT]transferring parental custody to Olivia!!!![/BLACKOUT] THIS IS NOT GOOD WRITING!!!!

But all this is to say that a lot of shows do this, and it's a welcome change of pace to see a show that doesn't take things THAT seriously. Even the subplot of Sam's sister being a recovering alcoholic is dashed quite liberally with Splenda!!!

And yeah, I'm gonna go there; I was thrilled to see an action-drama with a black couple. And they just happen to be black. They didn't dwell on it, they didn't try to make racial statements, and it was nice. It was nice to see a black married couple and it could have easily been a white couple or a hispanic couple or an Asian couple, etc. You could relate to them just as people, and that was it. There was stability, they talked about their issues with one another, it was really quite refreshing.

But all things considered, I'm happy for Human Target, and I hope more people discover what an awesome show it is.

I think the audience for Undercovers fits in rather nicely with Human Target. If even half the UC audience jumps over to HT, Target will see an almost 50% jump in ratings over where it ended last season.
