Rise of the Silver Surfer HUMAN TORCH/Chris Evans DISCUSSION

Evans did a great job again...he was a real crowd pleaser through out the entire movie.

The lesson I learned from the comic movies this summer is that the screenplay I should write would star James Franco and Chris Evans as two womanizers. Franco's character does so maliciously, while Evans's character matures. Those were the best parts of SM3 and FF2.

One of my 2 (little) problems with the movie was I wanted Johnny to show more emotion when he saw Sue hurt....I would have rather him screamed her name, rather than just say "oh my god....." alittle more emotion.....and mentioned her as he pummled on Doom would have been nice as well....but other than that....Chris did an awesome job, all the actors did....I was very impressed.

Those are exactly my thoughts! almost:woot:

I completely agree... I was thinking that he was pretty tame for just having his sis die, he didn't know it wasn't temporary.

Yeah, but I thought Reed would've had more of an emotional outburst as well. All he did was hold her and cried (I think).

He did, he screamed Sue......and YES he cried...

I have a feeling that this one of the moments where they got edit-happy, along with the whole 'spear' thing. That just came out of nowhere.

Well, when she walking in fornt of the cross fire, or whatever, I don't get why she would put up her force field.

Because she thought her forcefield could stop the spear, but just as the SS could go through her forcefield, the spear did as well.....once the board was far away from her, the spear disappeared...

Eye candy for the ladies.

This is not from the bootleg, I got it from Comics Continuum, so it's a promo shot of sorts.

If it's a repost, damn it.

I think that Chris Evans may possibly be the most inspired casting choice of this franchise. I mean, I love them all, but Chris is bring stuff out of his character that even I wouldn't expect.

I agree. He did very good his character. The funny parts and the emotional moments. That shows he is a good actor.

Just go back and see some of his performances in other movies like Not Another Teen Movie and Cellular - and you can see he can carry himself pretty well in a variety of genres.

Liked him in "Cellular" too. For the FF, I think he hits the right tone of Johnny being a short of man / child. Yeah, he's a grown man but that doesn't mean he always acts grown up. Plus he has a lot of charisma so that he doesn't come off as a complete jerk. His scenes with Michael Chiklis always click.

I love chris evans. He brought johnny to life in a way no one else could in my opinon and just by this film you sense how different he can act. Ive seen him in a lot of his films and "Sunshine" especially shows his good acting because he's playing a serious role. And whilst on screen hes cocky, confident and all that in person, he seems so relaxed, sometimes shy and modest which i like.

That was awesome.

Yeah I agree. I mean in both Fantastic Four and now Fantastic Four 2, Evans has really done a great job with Johnny. Out of all the cast members I can say that he reminds me of Johnny from the comics, Evans is that good. In the first film, he was the best out of all of them. Imean he had me laughing and he was just the most fun to watch. I FF2, he continued his great portrayal as the Torch. Bravo to Evans, he is the Human Torch.

Yeah, I knew he wouldn't do bad in FF2 because he is such a great actor for Human Torch.

I think he acted better in FF2 than in the first FF

I think he was spot on with his acting in FF because it was a bunch of one-liners for a one-dimensional character written by Frost.....

what we had in FF2

Was another spot on acting performance from Chris, BUT the difference is in the lines he was given to perform.....he was given a multi-dimensional character to portray....and he came through again....

I agree. The whole movie had so many moments that seemed that way to me. I really would like to know who's behind the editing decisions that these first two movies have had. I'm not promoting Tim Story but I feel he's had his hands tied all along by the suits.

But as to the topic of this thread...I feel Evans is very strong in the role and I feel he and Chiklis are the strongest parts of the movie.

I totally agree. They add comedy to the movie and make it more enjoyable to watch. :) :)

Luv that promo shot btw. :)
