Rise of the Silver Surfer HUMAN TORCH/Chris Evans DISCUSSION

You're in for a surprise, then Kal-El!

*having seen the movie*
Johnny definitely takes a bit more mature turn and we see how Johnny deals with Sue and Reed's relationship and even Alicia and Ben's relationship. He starts to become more of a teammate and less of an irresponsible and cocky show-off. He's still bringing the jokes and the rapport with Ben and the others, which I liked, but there's also a bit more seriousness brought in too.

Now that's great news . :cwink:

That's good to hear!

He changed a little, but still being Johnny. That's what it's important!

Ohhhhh, I can't wait to see the movie!:woot:

Speaking of...hunk, Chris has his shirt off in one scene in the movie and he looks beefier than before, I'd say.

Hmmm...You'd have to ask me something a bit more specific, as he has quite a bit to do this time around.

Agreed. Saw that in one of the spots. I didn't think he could look better than he did in FF but damn I was wrong! Looking forward to seeing that scene on the big screen!:oldrazz:

HHmmmm... well, I'm very curious with one of the scene that they aired, the one in the London Eye...

We see Reed stretch, grabbing the London Eye, and Johnny go after the Silver Surfer, but something hits him and he lose control. What happens just after that? do you remember??

Thanks!!!:woot:

As I recall, Johnny loses control and he bumps into Reed, and their powers switch. Reed has been trying to keep the London Eye from falling, but now he's flying with Johnny's power. Johnny falls out of the sky and his touch with Reed softens his fall to the ground (his body thins out a little and cushions him). Of course, Reed, being the smart leader, gets Ben to lift the Eye higher, but Sue is now being pushed off onto the river, trying to hold back the London Eye (she creates an invisible platform over the water). They get it leveled and Reed uses his fire power to weld the London Eye back into place. That's what I remember.

Chris said he especially worked out for that scene. Exact quote from him: "I didn't want to look like a wet noodle."

He actually seemed quite shy at the press conference in London, and didn't hang around long.

Apparently he has a considerable gay following. It's no surprise! :hyper:

Having seen the movie makes me love Chris/Johnny even more.
Not only did we get to see his character develop but he also had some sad moments too, feeling bad that he is the only one not in a relationship and feeling like a "screw up". As always chris does well with the humour, im curious to know which lines he adlibbed because I know hes great with that.

(I hid it just in case lol)

I'm going to see the movie later on tonight, that's great to hear.

I'll say this I like Johnny in the comics alot more than the movies .

in The Begininig of The movie till the London Eye Sequence .

I really couldn't stand seeing The annoying hothead self-obsessed Torch from the first movie , and I wonder if we just see a rehash of the first movie . that is until The London Eye sequence , when Jonny's massive Ego get's the better of him when he (tries to go after the Surfer again) but switches powers with Reed, and in the process puts the team & The mission in grave danger .

From that moment on till the end of the movie I saw a small change devloping in Johnny's character, he began to mature & become more of a teammate and less of an irresponsible and cocky know it all Jackass.

If their is a fourth movie I hope they continue with this direction and less of The ******* version of Johnny .

Quesiton, do we have any pics of when Torch came out of the shower shirtless? :)

They must just a have a major erection for Johnny Storm, 'cause he's the only thing in the movies that they get right every time.

The way he was confronted with the lameness of his happy-go-lucky attitude and seemed to step up/grow up was perfectly handled.

I do agree, chris evans' portrayal seems the only one which seems pretty close to the original comic/cartoon. And Johnny actually feeling part of the team was quite cool too. He was more mature this time around, and im hoping frankie will be in later movies.

Deep_thinkin heres the towel pics. Not great quality unfortunately. Credit to chrisevans.v.net
