Hype Survivor HYPE SURVIVOR 21 - Day One, Part One discussion thread!

It's good to see that our votes mean nothing as long as Matt likes who we're voting against.

How do you mean? I removed Warhammer because he was dead weight, if you read the rules you would see very clearly that I stated I would be removing dead weight from the game.

As for Eggyman, he quit.

The replacements were chosen based on their participation in the previous challenge. Warhammer's was based on who PMed me first and I put Hunter in because he was pretty much the most active player in the challenge and new blood (which people were calling for).

Has the second part started then?

No sweetums. This is the infamous Survivor *****ing portion of the game.

Don't feel bad if you didn't get a chance to participate in this round... there'll be plenty of other opportunities. :cwink:

When does part two start then?

I know im stopping the bickering to ask but feel free to carry on afterwards.

Heh, I'm just waiting for things to settle down and then we can have the challenge. But in all seriousness, at some point in the next 48 hours.

Well none of the players are technically going back and forth.

The argument that someone may not like you and just isn't overtly petty about it doesn't work because it holds true with everyone on the Hype! - regardless of whether they were former players or not. [Isn't it possible that you have ppl who've you've voted out that don't like you and may simply not be overtly petty with it? Although I bet they liked adding little - signs to your name. :woot:]

Think about the probability here and it you can see that the odds are that the greater thread comes from those people who were playing (they may not like you and not be overtly petty about it (as above, that can be anyone on the Hype!, not just non-players) AND have further reason to screw with you because you helped vote them out.

Beyond that, it's less likely a ex-player guest host would go after an individual than it is s/he will 'assist' another person or alliance. That's where the danger is, and where those not playing the game pose little to no danger.

As I said you make a fair point Daisy, do you want it in blood ?:cmad::oldrazz:

I think looking at all sides there really is no way to be sure and the risk is all the same no matter who we get but really as someone that has played before, do ppl really cheat as guest host and do ppl really get upset about getting voted out of the game ?

a slimmer time frame would be appreciated. or a remotely exact one, so everyone can have a fair chance at whatever is to come.

im saying this in a nice way, not criticizing you. :)

I mean, why are people flipping out, everyone should expect a slightly shady game from matt.

1) I've never seen a guest host cheat, but then again, a clever host can do it without getting caught. As the game's instructions say, "It is very easy to cheat in this game". This goes for hosts too. We're all sort of on the honor system here, and I'd say Showtime is probably one of the most honorable people on the Hype which is why I think he would make an ideal host, despite his involvement in the opening round (no, I'm not saying I'm using him Brodie).

2) I've seen it, I've done it. The game can get emotional. Even if its just on a message board, a large part of this game is building up trust and then, backstabbing.

It's not out of the realm of possibilities, I've never seen a guest host cheat per se, however except for Teddy (who technically didn't even get to participate in an actual challenge, even grayer area), managed to host the worst challenge I've been a part of but you can blame that on the competency of the host and not because he was biased.

And do people get upset? Yes. Because while it is a silly internet game, people do invest their time into it and if they get "screwed" whether it be their personality or just a winning drive, yeah some people do get upset.

I appreciate that :yay:

Its moot. Your next challenge will be a timed one. You'll all have the same ammount of time and it will be a fair ammount to complete the challenge. You won't have to be here at a certain time like round one or anything like that.
